This issue underscores the problems and raises questions about the Nigerian Polity. Adjudicating a case between different conflicting laws i.e Religious vs Traditional/constitutional vs National vs Army is bloody difficult. Which one takes precedence and had overall jurisdiction? This is why we need a national assembly/senate that can recognize these problems and work towards resolving them. If we all abide by the constitution, then Sharia and traditional laws should be abolished. The army laws can be there legally to resolve disputes involving or related to officers of the army. I like the angle that Brekete brings to these as an informal means of resolving disputes. Towards the end, you could see a resolution to the whole thing.
