Great introductory review! Many people on Pedelec forum were waiting for one. I am impatient to see your next video about this motor in use. Also, I hope you will make a review of DM02 version, it is slightly different. Most important question is: How sensitive torque sensor will be.
thank you for the teardown. hopefully they deliver good product . can't wait to see you test this thing in the full suspension ebike shredding some trails . cheers bro
For some reason BBSHD, M625 and M635 mosfet heat spreader plate is not bolted tight against the housing compared to Toseven DM-01. Strangely nobody talks about it but atleast BBSHD has thicker phase wires for better efficiency (that might not matter since they are short anyway).
Hey- thanks for the excellent teardown and presentation, it's very helpful. Do you know the millimeter offset of the 46t chainring it came with? Toseven sell 36t, 38t, 42t, 46t and 52t 9mm offset chainrings from their store. Would these have the same/less/more offset than the original?
Hi how did you split the motor apart when you show the stator and rotor section.i took my motor apart and it opened up slightly but it would not split fully I did not want to force it as it was brand knew and I wanted to grease the gearbox .but decided to just leave it as it would not spilt easily cheers.
My advice on connectors, cut off the anderson poles, they are not fit for purpose with the type of currents these motors use, i have 3 bbshd's so similar amp and current range to dm01 and after having my anderson connectors part melt and start giving bad conductivity i cut them off and use xt90 instead.
DM01 is more subtle than BBSHD because of torque sensor. In theory it push 30Amps into motor core, but that's only when you press hard like riding uphill situations or driving on throttle.

I just received DM01. Working on a movie from tests now. DM02 is a clone of TSDZ2. It will be interesting to compare these two as well.
@@LierskogenEbikes its not a clone, its not accurate

kedy test w rowerze?
An excellent review covering most of the important issues, Thanls.
Thank you!

Świetny materiał!
Very interesting. Finally a torque sensor for this type of BBSHD "clone". Looking forward to further testing of this motor. 👍
I'm working on the movie from tests.
This is interesting for sure.
Thanks mate

I don't have that kind of details. You need to contact ToSeven directly.

You need to remove 2 screws holding the PCB board for the phase lines connectors. This PCB board is connected to stator.
Whats the chain line like better or the same as the rest
Chain line is OK. I don't have problem with falling chain on the smallest gear.
But is the motor housing as big as bbshd? Will it intrude the chainstay like bbshd does?
Have you tried it? What degrees of incline can you climb without pedaling?
I made a separate video from tests. Watch it. I have no way to measure the incline of hills in the forest.
How is the chain offset? Using BBSHD on my full suspension bike I have to use a 42T wide chainring with 22mm offset to get proper alignment.
Not bad, but the problem can be fairly large front sprocket - 46T. You can't fit smaller one and maintain same offset as original.
Hi, I cant unterstand the material of the maingear and another gear. Are the gears metal or plastic ?
Thanks.
The first gear is plastic, second one metal.
@@LierskogenEbikes Thanks a lot for your information.
Nice video I watched all three videos in the series… can this motor work on a 52 volt battery?
Probably it will work with 52V, but as I remember in the display menu I was able to set battery type only to 36V and 48V.
@@LierskogenEbikes thanks
@@LierskogenEbikes it has a setting for custom and will work with up to 16s 60v
@@chipkhalifa4138 up to 60v battery
@@Alex-uh1mj I haven't seen the 16s battery option in advance menu in firmware version from September. Did you updated this recently?
Any updates on performance?
ToSeven is updating firmware from time to time. I don't have currently any bike with this motor, so I can't say how big improvement does it make.
Can this motor kit climb mountains without pedaling?
Yes
💪👍
Has a TOSEVEN bb 120mm?
No, max 110mm.
hey . did you set up bike ? is this working ?
Yes, bike is completed. And motor works fantastic :). I need couple of days to wrap up all video materials.

Custom firmware available?
No, not available.
Hmm so now with this new motor when my battery goes flat I will be still be able to peddle with minimal motor drag?. - thx.
Yep, motor drag is very small.
@@LierskogenEbikes Thx.
