Awesome video. I'm Costa Rican but grew up in NYC and moved to Texas when I got fed up with the gov't BS. Now, in my 40s with a beautiful wife and two adorable little girls, the atmosphere here in the US has degraded to the point that Costa Rica seems to be calling me back. My wife and I spent a month last year exploring regions and this summer will be back with our girls. I need to win over my family's approval on such a massive move. I'm not into BTC, but own several big alts. Very soon, these assets will allow for us to break the chains and live life closer to nature and our food sources. PURA VIDA!!!!

@12:00 The kind-hearted but trusting woman generously opened her home and land to Venezuelans in need. However, instead of reciprocating with work and contribution, they ended up burning down her house. This serves as a stark reminder of the necessity for strong boundaries and avoiding naïveté, particularly prevalent in overly open-minded leftist ideologies. While she initially felt fulfilled by helping those in dire circumstances, she was ultimately left with nothing but a burned down house. This situation underscores the importance of discernment (what open minded liberal folks often think is judgment) and maintaining healthy boundaries, as unchecked idealism can lead to detrimental consequences.

Awesome Content and especially from a Montrealer like myself. I like to know more about this community. I do have one very important question if the creator can answer as they are using BTC as payment. How are the fees because from what I know and had experience, when buying small items like shown in video the fees be lot higher. Can you explain the workaround this or how you are avoiding high fees, which is the main issue in turning BTC as Payment all across. Now like I said can we exchange info and discuss more on this new adventure as I am looking into something similar
Hey hey! Glad you liked the video! As for the fees - Bitcoin works in multiple layers, sort of like our traditional finance system does IE the difference between paying in debit vs paying via credit card. Bitcoin's base layer 1 is expensive (currently around 2-4$ a transaction) because it saves every transaction into the blockchain forever. However, many people use layer 2 protocol for Bitcoin called Lightning, which is designed to be cheaper and faster than Layer 1 because it has no permanent record of transactions, just a record between the two+ parties transacting at the time. These payments cost fractions of pennies and most wallets now support it - you can send Bitcoin to the Bitcoin Jungle wallet and many others, and start immediately transacting via Lightning for little to no fees. Hope that makes sense!
@@getbasedtv Oh, I had not heard of that thank you. I do know BCH (bitcoin cash) is being used in Thailand a lot and there is a big movement there for that.
as a costarican from the central valley, this is quite bizarre for me. yeah it's expensive here, but not $6 for a bag of pasta kind of expensive. Prices there are inflated at x2 or x3 compared to the rest of the country. that's absolutely insane. on the reproductive side, you're right. we've fallen way under replacement rate and the reasons for it are, to be fair (as someone with no kids), pretty damn awful. Meaningless things are dictating if we're left out of the gene pool or not, we're discarding that integral part of the human experience for what? easier vacations? more "freedom" to roam around? earlier retirement to "do nothing"? a few nights of potentially better sleep while staying up worried about work anyway? yeah, been reconsidering a lot of things, and I see the role of institutions and current mostly-political "movements" in reinforcing that line of thinking. They only serve their own purposes. and older generations, they let their own mistakes dictate the way others should live. There is no meaning without responsibility, there is no life without responsibility, you only get to choose which one and how well you'll carry it.
What do you mean by downloading the bitcoin wallet and "loading it up with SATs?? at 18:20 Also how the hell can Costa Ricans and Foreigners live when groceries prices are so ridiculous? Loved the video btw, subbed!
You usually have to buy some Bitcoin first before you have it to spend - the Bitcoin Jungle app doesn't let you buy Bitcoin from a traditional bank account from what I understand. You can use Bull Bitcoin to buy BTC / Sats or "satoshis" (smallest fraction of a Bitcoin). The grocery prices are crazy! That's why most people shop at farmers markets or buy direct from local farms - much cheaper (+ more organic) produce!
The grocery prices are ridiculous when you want to continue consuming the same shit foods you buy up north. It's much much cheaper to eat healthy, locally grown food.
I'm Costa Rican, my country is expensive but in places like Uvita, Dominical, Santa Teresa, Nosara, Tamarindo, Montezuma, Mal País, Samara are more expensive than the rest of the country bc a lot foreigners live there and some people take advantage of that. Also land has become pretty expensive in all those places that I name before, but to somebody from USA, Canada or Europe is affordable. In Costa Rica with $2000 USD you can live like a king, even if you rent a house or apartment
Great video. I belive on BTC like a reserve of value or a digital gold but no like a payment currencie. I have curiosity about how can they change the prices every day with the volatility of btc/Fiat.
A lot of the vendors keep a portion of the BTC they get as treasury savings within their business - depending on the cashflow needs, they convert the rest to fiat or buy raw supplies with it from other BTC accepting wholesalers.

Amazing video! 🔥🔥🔥
I live in Costa Rica, how do I connect with bitcoin jungle for my business here?
Download the Bitcoin Jungle app on iOS or Android - or Google "Bitcoin Jungle" and you can reach out to them!
@@getbasedtv says its not available in this region
@@TobinOsusky do you have a Costa Rican phone # and are located in Costa Rica? If so it should work fine. If not try coinos dot io ?
@@getbasedtv yes I do, yes I am and no it doesn't work
@@TobinOsusky huh that is odd. Look them up and reach out via Twitter?
Very interesting project, I hope to visit someday
You should! It's an amazing place 😁
That’s the future earth 🌍 ❤ communities sharing love and food ❤
Yes! Back to mother earth 🌎
Is that wallet Bitcoin Jungle fully functional outside Costa Rica? It's like LN + Sinpe?
It does work outside Costa Rica, but it's custodial.
@@getbasedtv What does that mean? I am in BC Canada and downloaded it but it didn't want to load with my cdn. phone number?
super underrated
Thank you! hopefully not for long!!

I lived in Costa Rica when Covid happened… that government shut everything down too !
Yup - not ideal but they were much less tyrannical than Canada!
@@getbasedtv yes Canada was terrible for sure!!! Makes me happy to see people from Canada with a spine willing to say ENOUGH!
@@getbasedtv how is the crime down there right now. It got bad during Covid my wife says it has gotten better recently , but I have to just take her word for it because she’s the one still connected to the social media groups
@@johnnyjon440 it was very chill in Uvita, safe to walk around at night. I wasn't in San Jose for more than a day or anywhere else really
Suddenly I want to move to Costa Rica
I may have caught the bug too 😻
So happy to see that bitcoin is thriving here
