    Oh my God! Thank you. I've been searching TH-cam for this for a long time. Then, TH-cam-God used his almighty power of 'recommended videos' and now I found this.
    I wanted to make a log-splitter that use a manual hydraulic jack. Every video I watch shows a hydraulic press with motors and I can't afford that. Now by watching this I can make one, I've already bought the Jack so I'm gonna make one for my own just like this.

    У Вас хороший инструмент. Болгарка, струбцины, инвертор, сверлильный станок и проч. Перчатки так вообще просто загляденье. И вот таким классным инструментом сварганить такую поипень ...

    WOW! I have no mechanical skills whatsoever, but I did watch the entire video and am so impressed!!!!! I'm looking up DIY log splitters for my dad and I'm just so amazed by this product you made. You are clearly very good at your craft. Thank you.

    I think everyone who posts an invention on TH-cam should all get a thumbs up 👍🏻 as we can all learn something from each video and make improvements, I think it’s bad that people give thumbs down 👎🏼 when people show the things they make even if they are not good as they are only trying to help .
    Try black sabbath for music.😁

      @RustisGold  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally agree with you. I never give thumbs down...
      Regarding the music it's difficult to find nice songs when you have to use copyright free music...

      Yes I have trained my dog. When I use the welding machine or the cutting/grinding disc he walks away!
      Some people have criticized me that the dog is in danger but he never stays near the area when I weld! 😊👍

    very smart and lots of good work. I like your replies regarding people criticizing your art , you're very polite and respectful I admire your manners and your work. like you said it's very easy sitting doing nothing but it takes a real man with a brain to invent even a little thing to improve lifestyle. keep the good work sir. thumb up.

    • @RustisGold
      @RustisGold  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for such positive comments!!! Regarding my reply comments I honestly try hard to be polite with some people... It is really sad how many people love to write hate comments... I don't mind when people criticize my work, I know I am not perfect or a professional but when they personally insult me I get upset!
      When I watch TH-cam videos, If I don't like a video I just turn it off and don't bother writing hate comments.
      Thanks again for your comments, I appreciate! Greetings from Greece!

    • @dangerous8333
      @dangerous8333 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you know the people that are criticizing are sitting doing nothing? Because they didn't record it? 🤷
      Did you ever think those are people that are also Craftsman and just feel differently about the design or the practicality?
      Here you go. From a full-time fabricator and woodworker.
      Way too much effort to split a log. I have plenty of those jacks and they have a very short throw and lowering it is such a hassle.
      I don't like the design.
      Sue me.

    • @RustisGold
      @RustisGold  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't care about criticism. I have no problem. I dislike TH-cam haters who love to insult.
      You didn't like the design? Good for you. This is not a competition. I didn't force you to watch my videos.

      @RustisGold  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much!!
      I put music on my videos because I think they will be very boring just to hear the natural monotonous sound of cutting and welding steel. Don't you think so?

    • @acsed2
      @acsed2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Personally I really prefer without any music. All top notch youtubers I follow use the natural sounds of the shop (Mathias Wandel, DiResta, John Heisz, Hand Tool Rescue...), so yes, it's all cutting, welding, drilling sounds, with or without audio comments, and it's really fine for me. That said, it's your channel so you do as you prefer, and it's solid content anyway. Thanks for your videos.

      I am not a professional welder.... I used the grinding wheel and they look just fine... Just trying to show to other people how they can transform pieces of garbage into nice looking and functional objects...
      However, using a manual jack was a mistake.I need to spend some time and replace the manual jack with a motorized mechanism... I always get involved in new projects and forget the log splitter! Thank you very much for your comments!

      Split with maul or ax is ok when the wood is dried/cured all the way through, but if it's green/wet hard woods like oak it's mighty tough to split. I have a bunch of oak that's been cut and sitting for 4mos now and I still can't split it with a maul. 😅

      I would think this "air over hydraulic" would be most practical but you would still have to buy a ram on top of that and extend your bed
      www.harborfreight.com/10000-psi-air-hydraulic-pump-98318.html
      This air jack would be more practical in my opinion with the set-up you already have with very little mods and more economical too www.harborfreight.com/20-ton-air-over-hydraulic-jack-95553.html
      The electric hydraulic pumps are kinda expensive and you must have 220v to operate them. I'm no expert on the subject though.

    If he only splits as to what he needs per 2 days vs a months worth of wood with this thing it be worth it. But don't expect to split 5 core's of wood in a day because your wrist would sieze up and fall off. Unless some other method of pumping the Jack is figured. Great craftsmanship though..

    • @RustisGold

      Tom Reagan thank you for your comments.The cost of making this project was really low, around 30 euros. The earnings from this video are (until now) more than 15 times the amount that it cost me to create it. So far not bad at all. However, I agree with you it is a little slow, I am planning to replace the manual bottle jack with an automatic (electric) one which will save me time and effort. Stay tuned for the modification video!

    • @RustisGold
      @RustisGold  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom Reagan sorry but you are wrong once again...
      On your initial negative comment you wrote about me spending a whole lot of work and money for a dumb idea.
      When I informed you that not only the splitter didn't cost me a penny but I have also made money out of it you came back with a new ironic comment about the feasibility of the device not being the goal but instead the internet revenue. Sorry to inform you but your new comment is a complete nonsense, the device is 100% functional. However, I agreed from the beginning that an electric version would be much faster.
      Finally, I looked at your account in order to check some of your own creations so I could improve my "dumb" ideas but I found none, just some re-uploads....
      Don't you think it would be a great idea to leave your keyboard for a while and start creating something, anything, a wooden box for example.
      Maybe then you'll realize how difficult it is to create something and the same time how easy it is to criticize...
      I will let you know when I post the electric version.
      Have a good day Sir...

      А так в реальности случается? Именно с гидравлическими, не с инерционными реечными дровоколами?
      Если упругие деформации в конструкции рамы незначительны (она, по виду, довольно-таки жесткая, неупругая), то запасти достаточную потенциальную энергию, чтобы с силой подбросить вверх расколовшееся полено, ей будет негде...

    • @ДваждыКрещённый
      @ДваждыКрещённый 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      CNC_Vivisector , в реальности принцип устройства дровокола в данном случае никакокого значения не имеет или как максимум - крайне малое. Существенным будут порода дерева, её плотность, влажность и т.д, всё то - что будет определять упругие напряжения в дереве и, в конечном итоге, куда будет "направлен" и реализован выход этого напряжения. Вероятность "отскока" - мизерная, но не нулевая, - почувствуйте разницу. Поэтому держать" голову в зоне, где возможны накопления потенциально опасных напряжений - это, как говорят, - до случая)). Решение вопроса проще не бывает - держите голову подальше..
