Yeah, maybe they could add bots for us to shoot and maybe like some snippets of lore told through animations using the game engine. And it would be cool if they could design some new maps around the concept, or repurpose an old map maybe... and there could be like levels, y'know something to give the players a sense of progression through this... idk what they'd call it. Exposition mode maybe. Shame that's never gonna be a thing. And it's especially good that Blizzard didn't promise anything similar and then rugpull their entire community while expecting us to just forget about it and move on. Because that would be shameless.
tl:dr I'm pissed because Blizzard clearly pulled the UI and power progression from their planned, promised, and never delivered Single Player Story Mode.

It was obvious the PvE gamemode Jeff Kaplan desired was going to be a pipe dream, given the lack of updates on it from its trailer in 2018 all the way to 2022 + Jeff Kaplan leaving the team. The current dev team owned up to this mistake and are atleast implementing related PvE assets into its PvP. Just enjoy the new game mode.
honestly my only real complaints about this game mode is 1. The choice of orisa over someone like winston, ram, or queen 2. the kiriko missiles, the amount of knock back those things have is insane
Lets be honest they just took the PvE talents that they had made for PvE and put them into this mode. That means if the hero didnt have a complete set of PvE talents, or they make no sense for PvP, the hero simply wasnt picked.

Zen is so cool. The AoE discord/harmony isn't really that good, even if it is cool because no more than 1 or maybe 2 people are ever gonna be in that radius, and zen already has a talent that gives him 2 of each. But all the passive bonuses like movespeed on harmony, giving himself a mini Orb, increasing his HP to 400... it's all really really nice
This is definitely 100% testing environment where if they got rid of hero switching entirely and testing out talents/cards loadouts like either Paladins or HotS. Hell, if you play Dva in this mode you'll recognize a fair amount of inspiration from HotS talents that she has. Like defense matrix giving you ultimate charge for all the damage you absorb, or causing enemies within it to take more damage. Those are both HotS Dva talents. I'm gonna guess the regular balance patch notes were screwy because they spent so much time trying to make this mode at least half balanced.
It's always kinda funny to see OW embrace more and more aspects from Paladins once OW2 dropped. I recall so many comments over Paladins being a clone and "rip-off" back in the day, and yet here we are.
Umm I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure they’re not moving in that direction for the main game modes. This is just a mix of the talents that they had already worked on for PVE that were inspired by those games. They’re focus rn is the 6v6 play test ad far as core game changes go. Not locking heroes and skill trees.
@@joshuacollins9316it does kinda make sense too when you put into the perspective that some of those changes like Ram would’ve probably been for 6v6 because honestly if double shield comes back, Ram would have been really strong in that sense without that change. So it does put in a few questions if the team is trying to do adjustments before 6v6 trialing testing sometime this season. Otherwise though, the rest are changes are either meh or just plain bad.

Putting kiri and orisa was their biggest mistake. this mode is either nothing dies or you explode faster than you thought was even possible in this game.
true, not to mention all rhe characters are just toxic for comps, like if you picked the wrong character at the beginning of the game then it's just 10-20 minutes of being diffed

@@dogs-game-too Hard disagree. The hero lock is a blessing and eliminates counter watch. You just have your heroes and have to figure out how to play around the enemy. In other words, you have to actually use your brain to play the game.
I got the most broken kiriko build the other day increased speed for kunai's, with an added genji right click worth of kunai's that were explosive. I did more damage than both my DPS and Tank. The enemy team was always just trying to jump me since I could delete their tank.
This is by far the most broken combo in the event. The only other heroes with a build even half as good as Kiri the Carpet-bomber are Soldier's homing rocket build and Dva's low fire rate/high dps builds.
I had a kiri with that build in one of my games, I was mercy since there was no way I was playing zen/Moira into genji/dva. (I backfilled and knew who was there from the combat sounds) Dmg boost, plus healing for 8% dmg done. The healing boost thing. Immortality during res, and 30% overshield for rezzed person. That kiri cleaned up. It was so funny.
I got a similar combo last night, triple explosive kunai with the 40% proj speed. Was cackling like a maniac all the way. Similar shout out to the Moira triple orb explosion combined with fade distance. Teleport on to squishy and blast orbs in their face.
This is a skill issue. By the end of day 2 I was sitting at roughly 20-11 win/loss. I'm a silver/gold player and played evenly across every role. If you build right you just win more often than not. Not all builds are made equal. For example, Rein has a very strong build based around the healing for a percentage of blocked damage card. I have yet to see an opposing Rein take it once but I have a near 100% win rate when I build around it.
Pharah is bonkers this mode. Double jet jumps and concussion shots and youre literally zipping around like doom guy in eternal slapping people with rockets feels WAY too good.
Playing Pharah feels like easy mode, and I LOVE it. I pulled a 48:4 yesterday, and one of those deaths was me being distracted by my clothes washer making weird sounds. 😅 The enemy team even had 2 hitscans (Ashe and Soldier), and it was still very easy. I need to finish my DPS games before they nerf her!
I watched the stream, so when you sang a little song about going slowly insane and how you had to fill out a quota, I could tell you were having the best time of your life.
my only complaint is that sometimes, if you have another of your hero on the enemy team, it becomes a race to get the best perks, at random. experienced this on Rein once, where they got the lava firestrike first.

@@strangejunelava firestrike is honestly one of the better ones to choose on rein, its good control since they think it'll do more damage and it also lets you tehcnically block off some hallways for a while
@@Shadowical i found quite a few of them to be better. like the one that reduces fire strike's cooldown for every 200 damage you block - infinite fire strikes! or the one that makes your shield have more health, which pairs nicely with the one i just mentioned and makes it so you'll always have a shield. or the one that makes you swing faster when you hit someone, which is great for beating up anything overextended. or even the one that reduces earthshatter's cost.
I'm not actually against the entire roster getting a universal nerf and instead "powering" the heroes by keeping the skill selection in the main game. I think having more variety per hero might really help fight the counter-picking issue and keep the game fresh since now there are "builds" to play with.
Seems like a pretty novel idea with a chance to really shake things up and make a fun experience for OW players. So... y'know that means they're not gonna do it.
Most of my team has been toxic and it’s mostly because of unlucky counter picks before game starts, or when where winning, two randoms leave on enemy team and replace with new players with counters.
They dropped Orisa and Rein in to see how well each would do against each other in an environment where you can't counter swap, and if a talent system could alleviate the normally one sided nature of the matchup
@@StormierNik The trick to fight Orisa is to let them get aggression and then slam them in the ground. If you hold on to resources longer than them, you kind of just win by war of attrition if the rest of your team is decent
Feels like every single Soldier I've played against in this mode so far has been made God-tier with these buffs. They could be running around aimlessly like the one in this video, and then turn around and practically delete me in 2 seconds.
You gotta go with the heeseeker, the field that moves around you, the 200 percent to the healing field, the biotic field with every helix direct hit, and just for funzies use the rocket burn.
Btw to anyone wanting ideas , I found a strat originated idea by Jay3 but Basically , On Soldier 76 , Get the “While running reduce damage by 30%” and “Within Biotic Field Reduce damage by 20%” which will make u tanky af There are add-ons such as Making the bio field on u at all times and Making it do damage which those are hella nice
I'm a fairly new player to OW2 and I love this game mode. A super buffed triple orb build is so much fun. They can one shot people and full heal teammates in the final round. 😂
Seeing some of the artists post on Twitter about working on animations for this, and GLAD that they're able to return to some of the OG characters for a bit. (They wouldn't say, but a lot of this is likely cleaned up bits from the 5 years of PVE systems being worked on. I'm very glad those repos got shelved instead of outright canned. There's hope yet...)
i love dva is this mode, using a dive build inta kils, its so fun. use the double punch while boosters are active, and anything that helps more damage while diving
I have only played and only plan to play Moira and Mercy. I like a lot of mercys (obv ga cooldown is the most fun). My fave build on Moira is fade speed increase, fade cooldown increase, and fade increased length. You can use jump and objects around the map to go flying. It feels like playing a dragon flying sim in ow.
Dva can heal ban and have 2nd charge on missile. Orisa can fly. Rein's fire strike can creat burning trails on ground. Soldier's heal follows him around and give 75 energy shield to all allies. Zen can have discord/heal orbs on 2 different targets at the same time and atk speed boost every time you crit.
gamemode honestly is really fun but holy shit Kiriko with triple Kunai and the explosion perk as well is pretty much one shot in close range even for tanks
Imma watch this later, but I just want to say Battleborn did this idea first. Ngl, I wish it would stay and be a legit game mode year round, or at the very least I hope they expand upon it and at least get all the characters that are used in the Junkenstein events available for it; I'm talking Junker Queen & Hog, Sombra, Echo & Symettra, Brigitte, Ana & so on. I would love to see everyone get brought to this mode but I can settle for just the characters exclusively used in the Junkenstein canon. But seriously, Battleborn had this exact concept with their DNA Helix that could be altered through a match as you level up. Not to mention gear you can equip pre-fight that you could find in several campaign PvE modes or at the end of PvP matches. I'm sorry, that game didn't get the credit it deserved, and I'm still salty that they shut their servers down and wouldn't at least give it an offline mode. Overall though, this game mode is by far the best thing they've dropped since OW2 was mentioned, just sucks there's so few characters to select from compared to what's been canon to Junkenstein.
I like that flats complained about not being able to use his cards because of fortify, while his crit accuracy was like 20%. Bro wasn't using his build regardless.
For me, the Orisa, Ashe & Zenyatta in this gamemode *are actually cracked up & buttfuck insane* if you get the right perks combined together. Also, joining in on an active map pre-locks you into the character of the person that left along with their chosen mutations which I feel is a solid balance tbh. All in all, great seasonal gamemlde to have fun & go crazy. 😂🤪

For Ashe, you can make her primary gun 2-3 headshot dps & support heroes as well as be a genuine threat to tanks too, as well as making her Dynamite cool down quicker + split up into 3 and leave Torbjorn magma pools on the ground too.
Now how about all these "mutations" in a sort of wave shooter mode, where instead of other players it's, idk, Null Sector drones and Talon troops, and instead of "mutations" they're called something less Halloween-y such as, idk, "perks" or "talents" of some sort... then make it available year round in the Missions card... just a concept of an idea
THEN during Halloween this kind of... "Hero Mode" you could call it, could have a seasonal event of it's own, where instead of the typical Overwatch bad guys, it's the Zomnics from the Junkenstein modes... just brainstorming over here, throwing stuff at the wall and allat

Bro shoulda gone with the triple dynamite and explosions create lava. Since you already had the cooldown reduction you can actually shoot your dynamite once, have it split into 3 then shoot those and you’ll basically have no cooldown on them and you have explosions with lava all over the objective
this needs to be a permanent gamemode with new characters added every season honestly. This is way too fun and super replayable

Orisa is the weakest of the tanks in this mode. Dva is the strongest by far and Rein has several good builds that counter Orisa.

There are add-ons such as Making the bio field on u at all times and Making it do damage which those are hella nice

I'm a fairly new player to OW2 and I love this game mode. A super buffed triple orb build is so much fun. They can one shot people and full heal teammates in the final round.

the fact that there are only three tanks available in this gamemode and one of them is orisa is the biggest troll i have ever seen...
Seeing some of the artists post on Twitter about working on animations for this, and GLAD that they're able to return to some of the OG characters for a bit.
(They wouldn't say, but a lot of this is likely cleaned up bits from the 5 years of PVE systems being worked on. I'm very glad those repos got shelved instead of outright canned. There's hope yet...)

i love dva is this mode, using a dive build inta kils, its so fun. use the double punch while boosters are active, and anything that helps more damage while diving
Ashe in this mode is a fucking blast. All the dynamite buffs are so fun to fuck with haha
Now imagine a permanent mode of this with all the heroes, it would revive overwatch to me personally

I have only played and only plan to play Moira and Mercy. I like a lot of mercys (obv ga cooldown is the most fun). My fave build on Moira is fade speed increase, fade cooldown increase, and fade increased length. You can use jump and objects around the map to go flying. It feels like playing a dragon flying sim in ow.

Soldier running around with constant bio field and 400 hp is great!
moira is super fun if you prioritise her fade. You can geniunely traverse the map in 3 seconds.

Dva can heal ban and have 2nd charge on missile.
Orisa can fly.
Rein's fire strike can creat burning trails on ground.
Soldier's heal follows him around and give 75 energy shield to all allies.
Zen can have discord/heal orbs on 2 different targets at the same time and atk speed boost every time you crit.
Zen can also have 400 hp

this mode is SOOO fun, i just wish they had more heros i hope they bring it back with more
gamemode honestly is really fun but holy shit Kiriko with triple Kunai and the explosion perk as well is pretty much one shot in close range even for tanks
When a Rein tries to pin you while you're playing Ashe, you wanna coach gun the ground that way you fly into the air and he can't get you.

You can just tell how defeated Flats is for playing against orisa every game
having orisa pharmacy makes this mode a little ass but its still so fun and there’s so many ways to creatively make a “build”
I just wish there was ONE more tank choice. Doesn't really matter who, just a fourth choice to make it feel like there's at least a little variety.

Imma watch this later, but I just want to say Battleborn did this idea first. Ngl, I wish it would stay and be a legit game mode year round, or at the very least I hope they expand upon it and at least get all the characters that are used in the Junkenstein events available for it;
I'm talking Junker Queen & Hog, Sombra, Echo & Symettra, Brigitte, Ana & so on. I would love to see everyone get brought to this mode but I can settle for just the characters exclusively used in the Junkenstein canon.
But seriously, Battleborn had this exact concept with their DNA Helix that could be altered through a match as you level up. Not to mention gear you can equip pre-fight that you could find in several campaign PvE modes or at the end of PvP matches. I'm sorry, that game didn't get the credit it deserved, and I'm still salty that they shut their servers down and wouldn't at least give it an offline mode.
Overall though, this game mode is by far the best thing they've dropped since OW2 was mentioned, just sucks there's so few characters to select from compared to what's been canon to Junkenstein.
S76 can get really tank with mobile field with shields, damage reduction on top of that healing
Genjis were running lobbies in my experience. Matches with no Genji were pretty close.
I like that flats complained about not being able to use his cards because of fortify, while his crit accuracy was like 20%. Bro wasn't using his build regardless.

It's so damn funny that all the "upgrade" game modes are literally scrapped PVE tree abilities...
For me, the Orisa, Ashe & Zenyatta in this gamemode *are actually cracked up & buttfuck insane* if you get the right perks combined together.
Also, joining in on an active map pre-locks you into the character of the person that left along with their chosen mutations which I feel is a solid balance tbh.
All in all, great seasonal gamemlde to have fun & go crazy. 😂🤪

Honestly my guy, just read the mutation perks carefully & create a synergy between each one you pick. For Ashe, you can make her primary gun 2-3 headshot dps & support heroes as well as be a genuine threat to tanks too, as well as making her Dynamite cool down quicker + split up into 3 and leave Torbjorn magma pools on the ground too.
Now how about all these "mutations" in a sort of wave shooter mode, where instead of other players it's, idk, Null Sector drones and Talon troops, and instead of "mutations" they're called something less Halloween-y such as, idk, "perks" or "talents" of some sort... then make it available year round in the Missions card... just a concept of an idea
THEN during Halloween this kind of... "Hero Mode" you could call it, could have a seasonal event of it's own, where instead of the typical Overwatch bad guys, it's the Zomnics from the Junkenstein modes... just brainstorming over here, throwing stuff at the wall and allat

Bro shoulda gone with the triple dynamite and explosions create lava. Since you already had the cooldown reduction you can actually shoot your dynamite once, have it split into 3 then shoot those and you’ll basically have no cooldown on them and you have explosions with lava all over the objective
