Thank you for the upload - this is one of the only JZ albums I haven’t acquired yet. I have an entire closet that’s dedicated to Zorn’s (own) discography as well all collaborations & approx 80% of all Tzadik releases - it’s an exhausting joy to keep up 🖤🖤
@@apedreus Zorn is indeed almost unmatched in output. Tetsurō Yamatsuka aka Yamataka Eye (who has had several bands including The Boredoms) is probably a close second. He has a dizzying amount of aliases as well. Fittingly he has worked with Zorn!
I have his Naked City album on CD (after hearing Osake Bondage on a metal mix tape lol), man do I love that album. He is pure genius and most eclectic :)
@@andrewsmail8307 Naked City is essential - something of a gateway drug to more Zorn ;) I’m sure you know this. So what else was on that cassette? I still love metal/thrash/hardcore etc. as much!
First my admiration for all your music,. The first time I listen to it was the Masada stg trio, and surprice ¡ there was playing Erik Friedlander, with whom were trying to put togheter a jazz duo, many years ago in N Y C, I always check your records and I saw this album whose title is a Rene Daumal´s book, and when I listen the first few bars I´m reminded of Gurdjieff music, I´ve been in the ´´Work´´ in NYC many years, many coincidences, so I felt I have to say somenthing to you about it, but I´m not sure what, so I´ll use somenthing from Daumal´s book . ´´ The door to the invisible has to be visible ´´ Again thanks for your music and if you see Erik send my love and ask him if he still has that old ´´Geloso´´ tape recorder.
I have this box set, is beautiful and is great to listen to it outside home. Would it be possible to get the second Bagatelles box set? Haven´t acquired it yet. As somebody wrote here, it´s exhausting to keep up. Tzadik releases are lots of joy but lots of money to spent too. Thank you for this.
you have buy this music; people should put your work - whatever it is that you do - on youtube available for not one cent; what would you say then?? big shame you support such actions, Sasime Records! shame! shame! shame!
@@hanscafmeyer6292 I bought, disclosed and advised John Zorn records (and everything he has developed) since 1986. This Box I bought from his hands and I got the authorization from him to be able to rearrange and play some of these compositions, as for other previous records of him. So shut up!

so many people pay a lot of money to get these bagatelles of Mr. John Zorn and GodBlessOurdeadKotatsu puts these very recent works on youtube; the composer is entitled to earn his money; if you go and buy a bread, the baker gets his money; you don't put it on youtube! if you could, you would!! this is so unfair and very disrespectful towards the composer; you have no idea how much time, work, energy and craftsmanship he put in this masterworks; shame on you!!
Don't worry. If the composer is not okay with it this video will be flagged and taken down. Another possibility is that this video will be targeted with ads in order to give the author revenue. Otherwise, this video will be left as it is which means that the composer is okay with that. Let me also add that the mere presence of this video alone won't deter people from buying this (very expensive) set.
@@lorenzosala9289 Yeah it also raises awareness and interest in the composer's work potentially well beyond what would be achieved if the content behind payment. This can directly benefit composer through increased ticket, merch and even record sales.
As if only rich people should be entitled to access this music, that's nonsensical, (I could add: shame on you Hans for conveying such a wrong message, but I don't believe in putting shame on others)
I've discovered lots of gems of John Zorn on YT. Never did stopped me from buying his disks. Click play, relax, enjoy the music. If you, Hans, have not bought the album, then I suggest you go and find/buy it. I heard it's a good one. 🙂

Ohh so this is the "J Z" I hear so many people talk about, nice to see how Avant Garde the mainstream is nowadays
That must be quite a closet - Zorn has to be the most prolific musician and composer maybe ever.

John Zorn's music is like quantum physics - best described in wave functions...
If you say you understand it, you don't understand it
WE HOPE that the holy inquisition of youtube does not appear to spoil the party

Kayo Dot wouldn't exist without Zorn's work. Great act regardless.
