- This golden retriever has had the worst case of only child syndrome since day one...
Our producer, Monica, talked to Danielle about how it progressed once his baby sister was born and the unexpected realities of motherhood 😂

Kobe does this BECAUSE they give him the reaction he wants whenever he takes something.
Exactly
Agreed.
Yeah he is spoiled rotten.
Both dogs and children require attention, give them both attention make sure he feels good because i know a feeling when everyone ignores you and gives all their attention to soemeone else, you start feeling unlovable
What a funny dog but I got to laugh because it's cute❤😊
Buy a retriever, get puzzled that retriever insists on retrieving things.
😆 🤣 Yep, you're exactly right °
😂
If she knew anything about the real Kobe (Basketball player) she would know that he doesn't like to share.
Kobe's motto: "What's mine is mine and what's hers is mine, too!"
Sounds like my ex

Hahaha thats right
We had a cat like that.
He’s so gentle about it. 😂
If she knew anything about the real Kobe (Basketball player) she would know that he doesn't like to share.
Social media definitely gives people unhealthy expectations. The majority of pet and animal experiences are not going to be one long disney moment.
uh...what's that even mean? have you checked disney woke pedo trash recently?
99 percent of people don't train their dogs or kids 😂
So true. That's not the dog's sister, that's the dog owner's child.
If she knew anything about the real Kobe (Basketball player) she would know that he doesn't like to share.
People had unhealthy expectations long before there was social media. Social media simply allow all those folks to know they weren't alone in those expectations.
Omg how he steals so gently lol ❤❤
Kobe: "This world is mine, you all just live in it."

@@reggaefan2700 then I think the OP comment here is also accurate for this one too xD
Koby being a golden retriever makes my anxiety go down somewhat, these breeds are the most loving and kind for families with babies/children! 😊😊❤❤❤ but be careful she's not alone with him anyway, I had to throw that in
Exactly. Family dogs have turned on babies before because of jealousy.
So, if the dog actually does that all the time, then you should really train him a little. I do not want to be a smartass, but this possessive behavior can sometimes lead to more serious behavior toward the baby.
Correct
Agreed!!!!
This isn't possessive behavior, Koby isn't growling nor showing aggression when they approach him. If anything he thinks its a game since they treat it as such. Plus, he's literally a golden RETRIEVER, its in his breed to grab things
@@nuekdz8297Thanks for your comments - I totally agree with you - this pup obviously loves his sister and the pup is just being cheeky ' plus the parents don't leave the baby alone with their pup.
Don't say that. The Dog only wants attention both from parents and child. They will be great friends
I don’t think Kobe would hurt her but you gotta get control over this while she’s wee. Goldens are THE BEST and are easy to train, generally speaking. Kobe is gorgeous 🌹
If she knew anything about the real Kobe (Basketball player) she would know that he doesn't like to share.
@reggaefan2700 Jfc dude. How many times do you need to post the same bs? We get it, you need attention.
@@Kisha_can No. I was only waiting for your attention.
As your baby grows, they will try to grab the things back off the dog. Please correct this behaviour now, its very dangerous.
It’s a golden retriever.
@@ezeanichidera4875it’s still a dog. If she snatches it back he will instinctively pull in a “tug of war” and she’ll fall and hurt herself or get bit.

Kobe and Danielle will be the best of friends, he's always wagging his tail, he's just having a moment or two before it's all love, lol. Congratulations, may this be the best gift ever.
❤️🐕👍
That smile, though oh my gosh, when she brightens up and smiles, she just you can see her halo shining she’s so adorable
He's a Retriever, its his job 😂
Even though he steals from her lf anyone or anything ever tried to hurt her he would go postal protecting her i would bet!!!!!
You are teaching him it's acceptedable behaviour by not propperly stopping him.
You need spelling lessons my friend. It is " accepted behavior" and "properly". Get spell check!
You be correct. They are teaching him acceptedabble behaviour. They thinks it’s cute and it’s not.
It's all in good fun. Don't take things so seriously.
@@lauraoneill3099yes he spent acceptable wrong but didn't spell behaviour wrong.
@@lauraoneill3099 Did you understand what was written, they most likely have no spell check that I'm sure you use. It annoys me when people respond like that because its a round about way to insult people. I would only do that if its something that was published this is a comment section. We have no idea if this persons first language is English or they have ADD. Let me be blunt stop doing that because its annoying. People who behave like this do not get an invite to most Christmas parties because often they are not liked that is reality. You got 2 checks up on your comment and one of the checks are yours.
😂 When that baby gets older they will gang up as besties against mom & dad. ❤
That dog is adorable. The baby things are his too. The socks are funny. Adorable baby. Congratulations.
If she knew anything about the real Kobe (Basketball player) she would know that he doesn't like to share.
Your pup just wants you to love him. He feels abandoned.
Oh my god 🤦🏻♀️
Over-reaction-central! ⬆️
This dog is very clearly loved. He’s been exhibiting this behavior for a long time, even before the baby. It’s a happy exchange he’s having (notice the tail-wagging) and she’s communicating right back to him that it’s an acceptable behavior… rewarding it actually, thus why it continues. 🔄
Everyone’s okay, no one is abandoned.
🐾🫶💙
@@SeattleRaindrop206 Ok. Got it. It's not a case of someone's rose losing it's blush and a younger woman coming along. :)
@@josephbingham1255You're actually the first comment I've seen from pretty much anyone here who has the right idea. Yes, typically in these kind of situations, the dog is getting A LOT more attention doing what he's doing than he gets otherwise. So like the majority of dog parents, they exacerbate the issue because they resort to some variation of punishment like yelling NO or whatever it may be, which the dog prefers over being ignored. So you're absolutely correct, the dog is most likely fairly ignored as long as he's being "good" and gets tons more attention when he's "bad." Unfortunately, way too many people do this with their dogs without realizing it. And then they wonder why it never gets any better. And I do know what I'm talking about, having rehabilitated hundreds of dogs over the past 14 years doing dog behavior modification. Cheers!
He needs to be reminded of the pack order!!!
Fk em
Such a sweet family, I’m jealous
Good dog. A happy family.
Taking the socks off is so funny and cute
That was my favourite, too! 😁
Taking off the baby’s hat was also adorable,
😂❤super cute
Aww, you have to love that poor pup into knowing he's not abandoned just because baby takes tons of attention now. Poor honey.
Oh yes he's so poor and unloved borderline abused 🤦🏻♀️
@@LittlePenguinHouse lol. No, I don't believe I said anything about abused. I just mean he has a face to be loved harder.
Kobe just wants to make sure his sister isn't spoiled with so many gifts or grows up into a "material girl." He gives her what she really needs - SLOPPY kisses. Good boy Kobe!
Pulling her socks off is too cute
You’re fortunate that the lack of training hasn’t resulted in much worse behaviour.
Kobe doesnt want to his little sister to look more adorable than him 😂
Goldens are the best ❤
It is all very cute but dogs should not steal, point. He needs to understand that he has his toys and these things do not belong to him. Perhaps with more training, structure and exercise that could reduce the issue. If any case, it is not good to have a dog chasing attention, especially around a baby. A content dog does not have the need to look for it.
Lighten up. The dog is harmless.
@@ginacaradonna8063 Any animal can bring potential harm (just like humans). The dog would probably never hurt anyone, but instincts are still here, and you cannot control everything. Not to mention the dog feels the need to steal to get attention, therefore there is something lacking here. Of course he seems more well-treated as most dogs in the world. But that does mean we should just consider such behavior cute, when it can get problematic and it is totally avoidable. Other dog owners, especially the beginners, could understand that as an acceptable behavior.
Yes I'm sure it's very easy to explain to a dog that THAT stuffed animal laying on the floors is the baby's and THAT stuffed animal laying on the floor (as yours have been since you were a puppy) is your toy. Jeez give it a break, the baby isn't even 6 months yet. Everyone acts like they haven't heard of adjustment periods even with young human Toddlers that get jealous of newborns.
@@taralerman5198 Babies take their toys in their mouth, and then the dog does the same. That is not healthy. Plus the dog removes socks and pieces of furniture, that is not only the dog confusing toys, that is a dog not having clear boundaries. He is encouraged to do so as it makes his owners laugh. You can have very fun moments with your dog, it does not mean you should let him do what he wants and then laugh about it. That is not good for anyone.
@marine463 Very well said.👍 accidents do happen.
You have the most adorable baby girl!
It started with cheerios, my daughter loved to share with our dog and that changed everything, our dog decided she could like this new little person
Kobe just cleaning after the little one😅😂
It's a dog being a dog. Fun and games until the baby gets hurt.
I dont think he is any danger to her but this is one of the dangerous dynamics that can lead to tragedy
Sounds nice & innocent, but this is a tale sign not to EVER leave the baby unattended with this dog !
Actually, any animal should not be left alone with an infant. But after rescuing many, many goldens of all ages in the past 25 yrs - goldens are by far one of the most loving and devoted breeds. Koby and that baby girl will grow up together to be the best of friends! 💛😊
Thanks for the smile. Lost my Lab last year.
🫂🌹🫂
Jealous dogs are dangerous dogs.
Are you giving him loves, cuddles & attention? He needs your love like it was before the baby. All I am hearing is your reprimands. Work on them playing together. Beautiful baby & darling Kobe. ❤❤
So many people would give up their dog for the same reasons. Proud of you guys for doing the right thing and keeping Koby
Poor Koby!! Just make sure you give him the attention that you always gave him!!
There are some golden retrievers who turn their instinct to carry things in their mouth into this weird stealing-hoarding quirk. That’s not unusual, and it looks like this good boy was doing it before the baby arrived. My mother has a friend with a golden that does this. When she visits her friend, she always takes a small tote bag for the dog to steal and carry around. She gets it back when it’s time to go.
The puppy is so gentle and attentive. It's just worried about change. There are a lot of unhealthy comments 😒. Show him that he was, is and will be part of the family with lots of love and everything will be fine.
This has not just been a “since the baby … “thing. He has been getting away with possession stealing/guarding behaviour way before. Now though it is an I was here first and that’s mine kind of thing. Take the attention off him when he steals until he swaps it back for something that is his.
They’re both absolutely precious ❤He’s so gentle and has that endearing touch of childlike naughtiness so many goldens possess. By the time she’s a toddler they’ll have worked out how to cooperate, and that’s when the real fun will start.
Stinker! But he’s so darn cute!❤
Adorable...klepto Kobe ❤
This is one of the funniest and cutest stories I've seen on Dodo recently. I love how the parents are so understanding of the situation, are accepting of Kobe's feelings and also ensuring safety.
Yawn. And they just FILM IT rather than discipline him. Could have nipped it in the bud. You can bet if it was an older sibling doing this, it wouldn't be tolerated.
This is not good…. He will hurt the baby…. Please train him. At 1:52 he barks at her….. the fact he demands attention is not good. It looks like it is fun now and he is gentle…. But a dog stays a dog….
Get two of everything -- one for the baby, and one for "puppy," because he's your baby too. He will grow out of it.
Wow, what a beautiful, gorgeous dog!😍🐶🐕😍
This is why I believe in crate training every time he steals something… put him in the crate soon he’ll equate oh stealing this I get put in timeout. Dog training is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!
But how are they going to get views on social media if they do that!?
He's a RETRIEVER. It's his instinct. Punishing him for something harmless like that is ridiculous.
Stop reacting to him stealing. He wants attention, you give it. Stealing = good. Stop reacting. You have taught him the behavior.
I love how Kobe's baby sister doesn't get upset when he steals everything from her. They are both so darn cute!!
Wow! It’s not every day that we see a Dodo video of people encouraging their dog’s bad habits. 🤦♂️
I kinda annoyed with some Dodo videos. The distressed cat that will attack the owner is seen as cute by the dodo. geez
When Kobe SQUEEZED into the chair with You and Baby Girl... ADORABLE.
They're so cute together even when he goes "I need all the attention available" 😂
Yeah right so adorable. 😂 But I for one admire how the mom manages two babies of different species. Giving demand from other facets of her life too. kudos❤!!
I couldn't handle all that with work and other stuffs 😢
@@MacKenzie.Sodersten You make a valid argument but it's very possible handle all that being a mom or not. I personally had to take a home passive job so I could care for my pets and children. having more time for other activites too and still earn well
@@PiperBalfe_ How so???. What home passive job gives you so much time and money. Is that even possible???
@@MacKenzie.Sodersten Yes it is.
I partner with a business friend who maximizes profit of capital investment put into foreign exchange. I only monitor and she does the job. She's been so helpful. Now I make lots of gains and do not need to work at all. I could hook you up with her
It is so possible. I personally work with Mrs Meltem Demirors, She handles my capital investments and makes huge profits so much so that I do not need to work away from home.
I highly recommend you don’t leave that dog alone with your child. Parents just recently learned this the hard way. They had a dog for 8 years and after the new baby, their dog killed that new born because he was jealous of her. Be careful.
I was thinking the same! Dog may attack the child out of Jealousy
@@feelgood1469 I would hate to hear that has happened to their child. It would be sad. 😔
@@tonitaboatner7380So true! I kind of got anxiety thinking the same thing, hopefully Koby is more loving ❤️ as he seems! 😊😊
I hope The Dodo doesn't remove this comment to pretend that life is always a Disney movie. A jealous dog is absolutely a danger to a defenceless baby.
I don't think this dog has any of that in him but it's still a good idea anyway.
Cutest example of a retriever retrieving ❤
A 3 minute video & everyone knows what is happening 24/7 at that home. That dog kissed the baby & kissed the baby. Give & Take, they were both happy.
What a cheeky doggy 🐕 😜 😆 😊🎉🎉😂😂❤
Taking the head band right off her head is hilarious😂 I bet people would love to keep up with what he grabs day to day.😂 He may live a life of crime but he steals from her so gently. He's a character. What a fantastic pup❤
You need to still give the dog attention an love. He still part of the family. I love dogs. They are so cute. Please love him
How cute, sweet and funny. I love how the baby lights up and smiles when she sees Kobe. 🐾💗
He’s acting out because he feels left out everything will be fine…it’s enough love to go around give it to baby and Kobe❤️
"oh I thought life would be like all these other Instagram accounts but it wasn't"........ Ya think????????? Being a "dog mom" is a real mom..... Especially when you have to train, set boundaries, discipline and giving them a job to do. Which is what he needs..... Instagram is not the real world with real world consequences..
The bond will grow as they both do!
Baby and Dog besties❤
oh my goodness the level of intelligence, Kobe steals for attention, camon now, id cover him with kisses ALL DAY LONG 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
dont worry , baby girl and Kobe will be attached at the hip in no time
beautiful family🥰
I love Kobe. He’s sweet and hilarious. 😂😂❤❤
I like how he just walks up and gently takes things like "yeah I need this. Thanks"
Caution needed when a jealous dog,& baby share same living space. Bad behaviour of dog should be checked/stopped, before things escalate. Firm verbal discipline, not 'jokey',light 'chatty' speak. Dogs don't understand they're doing wrong if you verbally chasten in a non-serious tone.
No, you should not allow this behavior to continue. I had to stop watching because this is painful to watch the baby get everything taken away from her. Not good for her well-being or the formation of her selfhood and personality.
Just shut up
Why are people more concerned with posting on social media than raising their pets and children appropriately?????
parents selling out their children for fake clout that they cant even cash in on has to be the most embarrasing and selfreporting unintelligent zoomer parent thing so far.
I love the look on the baby’s face when she sees Kobe! So pure! ❤❤❤,
So, baby's safety / development vs. TH-cam revenue

Yeah .... I was cringing at Kobe pulling the headband off her head. Babies have very malleable bones and the skull isn't quite fused so I'm not sure what the parents were thinking

The way he takes off the socks that the baby don't get hurt is amazing ❤
Nah the dog is being disobedient and this behaviour needs to be corrected
Kobe feels left out. "Giving him LITTLE BITS of attention through the day..."? He needs and deserves more than that. He was their first child and they're making him feels replaced.
I think it's well worth the daughter's sweet smile. Although it takes time to earn, she seems to be so patient and loving of the dog's retrieving behavior.
Kobe is gorgeous. He is a great sibling and he is giving you guys great memories ❤
It's such a sibling relationship, he loves her and wants all her stuff at the same time. Sounds just like a sibling to me 😂
A sibling that is equivalent to a loaded gun (dog doesn't seems to be properly trained).
Beautiful family!! 💛
Is the father permanently attached to the couch?
The bad behavior has to stop the jealousy of the baby otherwise he will learn it ok to steal the baby stuff and boundaries has to be established
Kobe might steal things but he’s super gentle. 💖
