80's country at it's best and twice as good as the crap that passes for mainstream country today. I agree this singer sounds a lot like J.P. Pennington who sang the original hit.
I just saw the original group Friday night, April 29, 2016. They are alive and well. They look older but they sounded just like they did years ago. They started in 1963 so that was 53 years ago. I got my picture with them. Totally loved them. About the best concert I've ever been to. Lasted 2 hours+.
+Jolene Alford You really didn't see the "original" band Friday night. You should get and read the book Exile "A Band In Transition" By Randy Westbrook. The original band was gone by 1965, this version of the band was the band that toured from 1980 to 1988. They had most of the country hits in the 80's. The original lead singer Jimmie Stokely who sang the big pop hit "Kiss You All Over" left in 1979 and died in 1985.
I love this because I always knew I was born to be a blessing in someone's life. I'm a nurturer...it's my place...I know this cause it is where I shine . The evil one doesn't want me to have it for that very reason. Great Group too. Songs should tell us something.....speak to our spirit man...as God intended.
❤❤EXILE IS A GREAT SINGERS AND IL WENT TO SEE THEN IN A COW,,PASTURE,,AND IL REALLY LOVE THERE SONGSTHEY ARE WONDERFULL SINGERS. AND IL REALLY LOVE THEM TOO 😮THEY ARE ARE SO WONDERFULL 🔥😮😮 LOVE,,,FRIEDA,,CHAMBERS YOUR FAN
It sounds like JP but it sure doesn't look like JP! I must have totally missed this period when he was in the group. I used to go see Exile in the 80's when I lived in Minneapolis, in '90 I was living in Boston and totally lost touch with these guys. I'm so happy to hear that the ones I knew are all back together again, Les, JP and Sonny...and I'm SOOO happy to find all these great songs again! I hope I get the chance to go see them sometime soon! EXILE - please come to Texas (cause that's where I am now! lol)
I believe that is Paul Martin singing lead. Of course he is the bass player/singer for Marty Stuart Fabulous Superlatives now. He is much younger and has longer hair here, but I know he joined the group in 1990.
The best Exile line-up ever, I wish someone could post their wonderful concert in Gstaad (Switzerland), including the surprising performance of the Berner "Es burebuebli ma ni nid". It is somewhere out there :-)!
Now that Exile has disbanded, you can find "The Apostle" Paul Martin playing bass as part of Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives backing band. Love Marty's RFD-TV show on Saturday nites!!!
Well doggie!!! Here's mud in my face. I had no idea that they are a country group. I just like one song of theirs (I Want To Kiss You All Over), so I decided to try more of their music and I don't like it. Oh well. I have my one song. Thanks for posting.
+Pop Turner That's my favorite also BUT you need to listen to Just One Kiss i think you will like it.It's really great and brings back a lot of good memories. LJ
@yvonnes10 He's now a Fabulous Superlative, and is "The Apostle" Paul Martin. On the hotness scale, you'd be at home, cause he is a thousand times hotter in the flesh (that which I know, cause I saw/met him earlier this year)
@Mark Ehrlich Often think why Jimmi was kicked out of the band.. I know the rest of the band was super conservative..Jimmi looked like a American Mick Jagger..very cool and oozing of charisma.. I suppose ego 's had a lot to do with it. Shame how Jimmi died so tragically young. Take care and stay safe.. Australia 😘😘
@Mark Ehrlich My girlfriend and i used to travel to Elizabeth to go and see the Twilights. Unbeknown to our parents as we were 16/17 and lived in the better side of town. In fact my father would have been extremely angry if he found out.. Elizabeth produced some great bands..Jimmi Barnes ( Cold Chisel) I had a boyfriend who was in the band The Mau Maus...gee it makes me laugh now..how naive we all were. I don't know if you are an Aussie..but Oz music is terrific. My favourite band is Poco and CCR.. Shame that Jimmi never started another band... Enjoy your music and take care.. Adelaide, South Australia.🙂🙃
@Mark Ehrlich Hi Mark Have a listen to the band Poco "Running Horse" album. The songs on this album are just great. Also listen to Redgum song " I was only 19". Goanna "Standing on solid rock" Great Oz music.. Keep safe.. Australia 🙂🙃😘
@Mark Ehrlich Lone Star...memories.. Cliff Richard has always been a very good artist..when i was 13 i wanted to marry Roy Orbison..My mother always played him at home. You know we are lucky we have experienced the best music ever.. These days the music is just awful. Very late here it is 4.00 am and i will say goodnight. Have a good day..🙂
@@adriantomlin2902 He's still alive. JP left Exile during this time to pursue a solo career, but he's back with them. The singer that died was Jimmy Stokely, who sang on Kiss You All Over.
J.P. left Exile in 1990 to pursue a solo career. Marlon and Les also left that year. This version of Exile lasted until 1993. J.P., Les, Sonny, Steve, and Marlon reunited in 1995 and have been together since.

BloozeDaddy76 It hasn’t gotten any better in the past 10:years.

@dukeseinfeldfan1 Paul is married to Duane Allen's daughter.
If the original fans of Exile can help me out with the lead singer's name it would be great love these guys!!!!

Can someone tell me if this is the new group?
@Mark Ehrlich absolutely. My mom and Dad were great friends with JP back in Berea KY when the band was playing dances back then at Berea Foundation.

Where are J.P. Pennington, Les Taylor, Sonny LeMaire, Marlon Hargis and
Steve Goetzman ? I missed they :-(
