*Before even watching it fully* Did it recently like a week ago with Wurt since she gets bonus hunger from kelps and stone fruits. Conclusion: u may survive infinitely technically but u'll eventually lose a purpose to play since there's a cap of items u can get/things to do. If you somehow add up a possibility to craft boats for urself or enable world regrowth + enabling all the events (making a lot of resources renewable) then maybe u'd have a bit more to do but overall u're able to survive indefinitely forever. Overall there's also a permanent way to even obtain grass, if u're lucky enough there's a possibility u get enough to make a garden field which leads to grass since the crops can wither in summer. If u invest enough time u may actually make most of the stuff that u normally could in normal playthrough. In my 180 days experience of living in that ghost-hell I've got one conclusion - to be honest this challenge is even easier than surviving on the main land which is fine and a good differentiative point of playing the game normally. *Now time to watch it till the end.* (Due to Deerclops [and any other boss that is a Giant in game code] they CAN spawn there if a player was on a continent 120 ticks before their warning roars]. It happened to me due to first Bearger. I've asked a friend to join my world to see if my character was bugged. But well he spawned on the continent 1 minute later I've heard the roar and awhile later - he spawned on the lunar island.) - what helped me there was a boss timer that did let me know when a game is supposed to spawn a boss based on current day/etc. Enabling events like Year of the Carrat give a lot aswell since it unlocks seed packages which boost the MASS grass production in summer. Not to mention that u can stockpile millions of lucky gold nuggets for other events to unlock even more materials. (and since its lunar island I doubt u would have to trade gold for carrats anyways LOL) From my testing Wurt and Wilson are having any use with Wurt having a prime being due to better hunger values from the available food and Wilson just a step behind due to transmutations - best one being manure since its not obtainable without him and has a lot of uses on this island (takes rot in order to transmutate), especially if u have enabled OG farms in the game files since they are still here. Just not craftable normally, u can still spawn them or make em craftable if u shift some files. They are better due to the fact of always giving u grass instead of rot and u don't have to pay too much attention to them since all u have to do is just replant the seeds. Every other character fails off pretty quickly since u won't need Wigfrid for armor of any case due to gold being limited. Wx doesn't have anything to scan honestly. Maxwell has always high sanity with no fuel. Willow is inferior if u already made a grass farm. Wendy - well u can kill mobs without abigail its better to have more viable stuff to do than havign easier time doing the same thing. Wicker is also kind of inferior since u cannot do many magic items she has access to and Alchemy Engine is capable of handling 90% of her potential teh only usage would be for Wurt to lower her sanity since u can craft books for her. I'm not sure but I think that If its possible to craft tentacle book then Wurt would be even able to make merm king and flotrtifications so merms could be a thing due to low resource cost of these structures that only Wurt has access to. In this scenario if it's possible then Wicker could possibly have a use Webber is just a Wendy thing - its better to have more stuff to do than just having an easier time doing looped routine. Woodie falls aswell since axes are unlimited there. Wromwood falls since u aint gonna use living logs anyways. Warly would have a hard time with little no resources to cook his chef's specials so u cannot LET HIM COOK. Wortox is just a suicide due to double hunger need. Walter has little to viability since it could be just a quality of life character due to high sanity drain when hurt otherwise I don't see much use for him he doesnt enable more stuff to do/attend to do. and wanda well u ain't having stuff to make a use of her due to clocks. If you somehow get an acorn of any tree (which is probably possible if u craft a boat to trigger a pirate raid and I'm 50% sure they drop an acorn) then with a winter feast event u can even obtain a walking cane/gears for the fridge and more useful stuff. If not then it is excluded I've not tested it actually. *aaaand now time to reach 200th day*
so it is pretty easy to use carrats and saladmanders to set off traps AND you get food on top. you just have to direct them into it. you can also roll a chance at a krampus sack by collecting birds and killing them all at once to spike your naughtiness

I think maybe making a team of maxwell, wormwood, wortox, wickerbottom and wilson could make something interesting? maybe even weeber? I mean i think wickerbottom could make an access to magic, and make the bookcase wiht wormwoods living logs, and wormwood could farm endlessly to make food, wortox coul heal the others and maybe even wilson could transmute a few things like rot into manure for wickerbottoms books or sticks that wicker grew for wood, Idk I still find it some flaws but there could be an attempt
Here is a realy solid stralegy: Wickerbottom can be make The Everything Encyclopedia. With this book she can make and prototype lever 1 magic items . But first you must make a bookcase for this Book and you must need a living wood. I thinking how we can be get a living log. we must need a wormhood for this. But this have another cost wormhood can't heal itself so much in Lunar island becuse there is no tent . But we can use spider glides . So we can use book to making life giving amulet with maxwells extra starting fuels
i feel like an additional, possibly interesting, thing would be another player/friend to as as more or less a merchant. shows up every now and then and trades say the lacking grass for hound teeth. could add a reason for the teeth while you get stuff you cant get there, just a dumb idea lol
If you had a willow you would’ve had access to charcoal a lot earlier Because literally the only other way is to get lucky with a fire hound or wildfire during summer
Little tip, might be slightly convenient in normal runs, you can chase carrats into the anenemies to both set off the trap and kill them (haven’t finished the video will be embarrassed if this is in the video)
I'm not sure about this, but couldn't you trap deerclops in some way like with statues and then keep him there to farm insanity with his aura and not have to deal with gestalts?
I would suggest allowing the use of boats, as long as no one goes to the mainland. Sure, its harder without it, but as you said, it became boring due to the limits. At least adding waterlogged, monkey island and the sea itself as source of resources, might have made more interesting options. Plus hopping from one lunar island to another shouldve been still technically "staying on lunar island"
Shatter spiders can be kited. You could've used monster meat to decrease sanity/enlightenment. Fish sticks, pierogi, spider glands (even healing salves if you can get a red hound), lunar moths, wobster bisque, surf and turf, bunny stew, bacon and eggs, and california rolls are readily available for health restoration. Wearing armor doesn't matter, as you can just run away and heal (except for maxwell); if you really want armor, you can make wigfrid helmets, or wormwood's bramble husk. And if you play like this after 900 hours of game time, you either suck or have ascended all DST players and found the fun in the game again.
9:35 - you only need to fill it up to 75% for atleast a moment and you dont need to use logs. Source - wiki and i also got charcoal from 3 fast tossing of poop
I learned a valuable lesson today: I lack the intelligence to assert if a 30 minute video with no actual utility in the real world is worth 30 of my life. (I in fact was eating 5 out the 30 minutes, but still....)
I've been playing don't starve for 10 years now give or take, I'm still not used to the deerclops' attack being directional, since it wasn't always like that. :)
Fun fact: you can control your enlightenment by going into darkness at night. Just get back into light before Charlie strikes. But if you bounce back and forth all night it should drain your enlightenment pretty well

He couldn’t. In character, I think he discovered it’s possible to go completely nuts while still being totally lucid. Bad things happen when a wizard can’t cast.
also, i wonder how different tig's experience would have been if they'd picked another character! which character/s do you think would have been best for this challenge now that you've played it?
Some characters call her a he, some a she, but Klei (seemingly) confirmed it being a she in the descriptions of one the eyebrella skins. If we can consider that canon? :)

Wes main: I live here.
You dropped this: 👑
Seems like just wintering on the island would be a pretty good strat
You could also eat rot to decrease sanity then eat cooked stone fruit to balance out your numbers
I love how you slowly lose sanity and became insane by this island
Pretty cool video! You've earned my sub. Looks like the cave challange was more fun!
Never change your pfp, I love it so much
I wont, dont worry :)
If you had a willow you would’ve had access to charcoal a lot earlier
Because literally the only other way is to get lucky with a fire hound or wildfire during summer
Oh yeah, forgot fire hounds exist! And yeah, Willow would of also been a better choice in hinsight :)
wow he really survived on the lunar island
Little tip, might be slightly convenient in normal runs, you can chase carrats into the anenemies to both set off the trap and kill them (haven’t finished the video will be embarrassed if this is in the video)
Well done hope the algorithm likes you
Thank you so much!!
I'm not sure about this, but couldn't you trap deerclops in some way like with statues and then keep him there to farm insanity with his aura and not have to deal with gestalts?
Deerclops destroys statues, you would have to use something indestructible, or trick its aggro with something.
Deerclops despawns in spring
You can start a fire with saladmander. But first you have to warm it up until it's ripe
Forgot about that, good to know!
Living on the island indefinitely might actually NOT be possible. Remember that summer exists…
I once made a base in the lunar islands and ended up getting trapped there cause my friend stole my boat
another victim to the moon
I feel like there should be glass body armor that provides little protection and has low durability, but gives a speed boost
well id say it would be more like wes' balloon items, you get hit, they instantly break and damage you, maybe even in an aoe would be cool
I think you guys did good also i like your videos so i subscribe now
Thanks!! :)
this is such a classic by now 🥰
How would this work out in summer? Nitre being a limited resource, maybe that places a cap on the beat wave? Or does summer temp also differ?
How about doing lunar island but you take like the important stuff
40 unfertilized grass
Eye bone, glom glom
1 pig shelter
4bunnies
1 bunny hut etc.
I feel like I could site this as a study of how monotany makes humans go insane
A year later, I'm still moving counter-clockwise. Send help. Or grass.
@BiddoBamss ill tell you if i find any (im stuck here too )
Shatter spiders can be kited. And if you play like this after 900 hours of game time, you either suck or have ascended all DST players and found the fun in the game again.
algrotihm loves you!!!
Holy cow yeah, that was unexpected, thanks for stopping by! :D
9:35 - you only need to fill it up to 75% for atleast a moment and you dont need to use logs.
Source - wiki and i also got charcoal from 3 fast tossing of poop
Nice video, especially for your first one.
why do you have so little subscribers, this is great content
Means so much to hear that, thank you so much :)
Fun Fact: you could have made meatballs with the stone fruit and monster meat and it would have been a hunger gain
Can they get charcoal?
Did you watch the video? They get charcoal from the fire pit
@@DespOIcito oh yeah i forgot that mechanic
I learned a valuable lesson today: I lack the intelligence to assert if a 30 minute video with no actual utility in the real world is worth 30 of my life. (I in fact was eating 5 out the 30 minutes, but still....)
You earned 103rd sub :)
Holy crap, thank you so so much!! :D
If you had access to the seaweed you could a seaweed hat to lower your sanity
i guess the kelp hat didn't drain sanity quickly enough to counter the island sanity regen. but yeah they had a kelp farm of sorts
me and my pals who dont play anymore never got here, do the hounds still spawn?
nevermiund lol, the second i paused you said it in the video
So the rules are: No boats, No Woodie.
Couldn’t you just use Wortox to teleport back to spawn
You could yeah, we should of mentioned it in the video but a general rule is to just not leave the island under any conditions :)
challenge?
hard?
dying to deerclops?
lunar island isnt a challenge is just "im bored of green lands and evergreen trees" -_-
Wait, can’t wortox teleport anywhere at will providing he has enough souls?
this is more of how long can you survive without going insane irl
not even deerclops insanity aura can take away the enlightenment aura of the lunar island near the full moon
10:43 What was that voice crack?
For deerclops you couldve made cobblestone roads
I don't know if it's been done before, but what if you raced someone in adventure mode?
Ohoho, I like the sound of that.
the best trio is probably maxwell, willow, and wickerbottom.
if it was a squad wigfrid was a go
is this what that one guy who wrote "im blue" was talking about?
Why didn't you rotate around deerclops to not get hit?
I've been playing don't starve for 10 years now give or take, I'm still not used to the deerclops' attack being directional, since it wasn't always like that. :)
Me trying to play Wurt in lunar island: ….What are these live carrots 😭
Fun fact: you can control your enlightenment by going into darkness at night. Just get back into light before Charlie strikes. But if you bounce back and forth all night it should drain your enlightenment pretty well
didnt he already use that?
I think you meant to say "avoid taking as much damage as possible" not little 18:50
fun fact: i noticed that during editing but it was really late and i couldnt be bothered to re-record that line so i kept it in and hoped nobody noticed. oh well :D
spring would be hard too
We are considering continuing/redoing the challange before we got owned by the Deerclops if people would like to see that :)
@@BiddoBamss new challenges would be fun too
Is there a Biddobams fans discord?
this was dope
How was Maxwell farming nightmare fuel to recharge his book?
He couldn’t.
In character, I think he discovered it’s possible to go completely nuts while still being totally lucid.
Bad things happen when a wizard can’t cast.
all i heard was chewing and mic cutting out due to my echo in my headphoness, but nice vid tbh
Feels weird that there hasn’t been a comment in 6 months
u guys should have chose wormwood and wigfridd
They need to publish uncompromising dst for console
where did Biddo go
Rock fruit? Is that a motherfucking JoJo’s reference
nice!!
also, i wonder how different tig's experience would have been if they'd picked another character! which character/s do you think would have been best for this challenge now that you've played it?
Literally any other character then Maxwell would of been a better choice they said :D
i love your voice
Do more dst content
Working on it as we speak :)
you could die and find touch stone
Nice video
11:53 skill issue
i live there
I know winter wasn’t too much of a bother but you could’ve made a breezy vest with the teeth
I dont think you can get kowalaphants on the lunar island
@@Flapjacks-tm8cf I meant Dapper Vest
Straight downgrade you need to lose sanity on the lunar island
@@Flapjacks-tm8cf how? HOW?? They clearly couldn’t do it doesn’t matter if you don’t want sanity if you can’t lose it
Bruh the normal game is uncompromising I'm dogshit at this game lol
I an a fan of your content so give me a shout out
Wait, the island has reeds, digging ridd gives you a grass plant...
She? Isn't deerclops a dude?
Deerclops is referred to as both he and she depending on which character is talking
Some characters call her a he, some a she, but Klei (seemingly) confirmed it being a she in the descriptions of one the eyebrella skins. If we can consider that canon? :)
ur good at telling story, you should try to get out of the dont starvce scenery, you have great potential in that, do some imersive lest play or so.
i did something similar as wurt only brought grass. I basically had a whole village when i finished lol.
That sounds fantastic, Wurt is one of my favourite characters so I gotta find a challange I can do with her soon :)
