Recently borrowed one from Roy for am the weekend to do some tracking. Good bass,but it made me realize that such a good bass was sounding like dogshit on video. Here’s why. 1. The tone sounds like it’s all the way up. Turning it down a bit will take off the clacking of the piezo pickup. 2. If it’s anything like the one NS sent Roy Vogt/Belmont the D’Addario strings don’t do the upright nature of this bass justice. I’d recommend demoing with thomastik, pyramid, or LaBella 1954 flats. Doing this would significantly increase the tone quality.
i have the 5 string WAV upright, and it is a sweet toy. It doesn't buzz like yours, but i think your probably have the action extra low. . I might try that..
