His alt mode was shown in one issue of MTMTE, when the crew visited Tunderclash's ship and we was in vehicle mode unconscious at the time, I believe the issue also had some barnacle like creatures as the reason he went into a sleep mode for a bit
Jarmo Verriet I remember the issue but I did not remember the issue number or title of it, but I knew the synopsis and that Thunderclash was inactive during the visit until the near end of the mini story
It’s a great version of thunder clash and fantastic use of of the tarn mould. My one complaint is the arm guards that the arm cannons fit onto they just feel like an afterthought rather than being mounded to fit around the forearm correctly to me they don’t look right so iv just attached the cannons directly to the forearm without the guard pieces. Otherwise it’s a great figure
That’s way better than the ol’ KB Toys’ Machine Wars fig that I recall from way back when. I don’t need a CHUG Thunderclash, but I do really like those colors. So, I hope we see a legends of T.C, someday, probably from Iron Factory, I’d bet. But, an Autobot hovertank Megatron would be even more wild from IF. P.S.: I just noticed that CHUG is an anagram of ye ol’ HGUC Gundam kits 🤣
He reminds me a little bit of BM Strika's original toy. Particularly in vehicle mode. I'll be interested to see what they repaint him into besides MW Optimus Prime. If anything.
My main complaint with this mold (I have a couple others, but they're minor), is his freaking 'Clown Shoes'. His feet look too long for his body type, like his toes need to fold in somehow only they can't, and that's seriously annoying me. His color scheme isn't that bad, if a bit 'thrown together', and his alt mode really reminds me of FoC Optimus Prime. Like they used that as a base, and just redid it to fit this character. All-in-all not a bad toy, but I still think it could use some work.
That may be so, but it's still stupid looking to me. It looks like his toes don't belong on his feet, like he just stuck something on to the ends of his toes and so they look wonky. Kinda like a kid trying on his father's shoes.
Chakat Stripedfur Regardless, can’t blame the mold because of that. Same thing with the colours. Thunderclash has always looked like that with those combination of colours.
I just think he is lazy. From the front he's awesome, but he is a mess from behind. Having a shell fold up and not even hang tight to his back just seems so lazy, it's puts me off the whole figure, especially when Tarn was such a 10/10
Samuel Welton they made the best compromise they could. Calling the entire figure lazy on the basis of that just makes you sound like an entitled little douchebag.

However, it is a £100 collectible which is a lot of money for a toy, and for some of us that is a big deal taking a lot of saving so it's not unreasonable to be picky. MMC already has a not great price to plastic ratio but they made up for it with clever engineering and great sculpts. This guy looks great head on, but I feel there had to be a smarter way to deal with the kibble than leaving it jutting off the back. It could have been incorporated into the legs somehow or at least have folded flush. As is he is basically a kultur with a turtle shell beacuse it was the lowest effort solution, and given they're already starting from an existing mould shouldn't have been the approach IMO
Samuel Welton To be fair, it is not entirely lazy. It is Kultur with a lot of retooled parts, even if your point about the kibble engineering is fair. If you can get this guy with the price of a retail Leader class figures, he’s great.
Never liked the horrendous color palette for Thunderclash, MMC tried to sober it up a bit but still, puke inducing. It's a shame that a bot with such a badass name looks so garish.

The overly large feet are kinda a staple for how Alex Milne draws his bots, though. The base mold, Tarn, was drawn with his feet that big.
