the tamara explanation is what is pulled from the "true stories" these movies were "based on". Robbers would knock on the door looking for empty houses to break into, if someone answered, obviously that'd be weird if a stranger was at your door, so your scapegoat is asking for someone and hoping it comes off like you just have the wrong house. It's pretty eerie to think The Strangers do this to find victims, and if no one answered or the house is empty they just break in anyway. Way more terrifying than the real life thing.

Can we just talk about how truly masterful and jolting the jump scare in the drain pipe is. I remember being in the theater and popcorn flying when that happened. This film is an underrated gem, glad you guys loved it!!
I prefer this to the first. The whole pool scene is iconic.
The vibe in part 1 was definitely more scary than this one. The jump,scares in this one didn’t scare me it was basic and predictable
Iike any other basic horror movie which I think is why many prefer it. Part 1 was truly scary especially the dark ending and many people don’t like horror without final girls

This sequel is so good, I am so glad that you reacted to it.
I was raised by a single mother and we had our ups and downs. The mom’s death really got to me and I immediately went and hugged my mom after. The way that the mom sacrificed herself despite the fighting hurt me.
I completely forgot about the jump scare with Betty Boop bitch in the sewer pipe and it got me as bad as it got both of you.
prey at night is so damn good and highly underrated in terms of slasher flicks!! its such a comfort movie for me. I wish we would’ve gotten a sequel to this with bailee madison returning but I guess we’ll have to see how the reboot trilogy does next year..
There's an extended ending where you hear the jack in the box, the door opens, the hall lights turn off one by one and it cuts to black with Kenzie screaming
"Oh look! It is I, Tamara, out here in the open!"
I felt like the characters in this movie were doing everything in their power to not survive. So many choices were made.
It was mainly the brother stopping the sister from shooting doll face that got me mad.

This is one of those rare times where I like the sequel so much better than the first movie that I just watch the sequel instead of the first movie at this point.

I like the sequel but the first one was so much scarier to me . The sequel was like many other horror movies nowadays but the original was so dark and different. Honestly it’s two separate things. The first movie they were toying with them all movie but second they were going for kill quickly
The first one is scarier but this one has better vibes and is more entertaining. Love the soundtrack. And the scene with the car on fire reminds me of Christine and I seriously love that moment with the car driving on fire and Making Love Out of Nothing is playing, those drums as she’s running! Ahh it’s chefs kiss
If you want another final girl QUEEN, watch You’re Next! It’s so so good and talk about having a MOTHER!

Oh my god you guys completely flipping the mom being the "final girl" and the brother being the "first kill" was so funny to me having seen the movie before! I loved your reactions to everything! The DVD release has an alternate ending were Kinsey opens the door to darkness and you hear a Ax dragging on the floor, Also actor William Willet filmed a scene playing a doctor who was the one knocking on the door with the masked killer standing behind him but that was never released he just posted the pic on twiter.
Bailee Madison came in did her thing and Killed it. I saw this in theaters and watched it 3 or 4 times after almost immediately…

I am so glad you two reacted to this slasher classic. Its in my top 4 in letterboxd, i just dont think there was a slasher in the 2010s as good as this one. My only complaint is not enough christina hendricks!!! Man between this and F13 part 2 im jealous that wes and chey are getting served all these fresh meals for the first time!!

I love this movie. It’s so underrated. It’s a horror classic waiting to be rediscovered.
So many gripes with this movie the day i saw it in theatres bc i was so excited for the potential of the family dynamic as far as them fighting together or fiercly protecting eachother..but the decision making was unforgivable in this one. It also felt like the Strangers werent even a damn team in this one so what was the point? They werent organized so its like were they just planning keep score of who got the most kills by the end? Ill say its grown on me and i can appreciate most of the cinematography, aesthetic, old-school slasher homage, a few of the family dynamics really shining through, the pool scene..etc

I don't get the criticism for this movie at all tbh, it isn't a perfect movie but it definitely doesn't deserve the hate I see a lot of people/critics online talking about. The plot was alright, I mean it's a one night movie not a lot you can do as this is a slasher movie. The cinematography was AMAZING, the score was top notch as well as the soundtrack, the acting was really good with heavy hitters Bailee Madison and Christina Hendricks. I feel if the movie wasn’t tied to ‘The Strangers’ name it would get more praise from the critics.
The canon ending is it's just a doctor knocking on the door. We also love the reaction to the shotgun blast. 😂

Yeah, gotta' admit I liked this sequel. Good soundtracks in both films, and I spent ages flashing on the first film every time I heard Merle Haggard's "21 In Prison." I had the impression from the "edition" I watched that "Sack Head" was back at the end of this film.And I love the cat that keeps popping up in the background of your videos!
