    This song is about Art Garfunkel going off to make his first movie...Catch 22...and being all worried about it. Paul Simon wrote it for Artie. The name Tom comes from their first name as a duo...Tom and Jerry.

    • @stephenhawkingsfootballboo7885
      @stephenhawkingsfootballboo7885 5 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      Also Simon was kind of hurt because he also auditioned for the movie but didn't get a part in it... so I guess he was lonely and a bit melancholy.

    My father grew up in NYC and loved Simon and Garfunkel. When we were just wee kids in the 70s, my brother and I would follow the lyrics on their jacket covers, singing along enthusiastically. I remember feeling a sense of happiness and peace and have always associated this song with dad, who has since passed. Your version is so wonderful and, dare I say, just as beautiful as the original.

    BOOM!
    This song for a time was my Dad, when I was tiny, or so I thought.

    Good grief. I wasn't exactly worried, when I saw that you did a Simon and Garfunkel - but I was ready to not be a massive fan of it, because I grew up constantly listening to a single CD with their best songs on it, and I've never been able to fully appreciate a cover of them. Wow, though. I am... absolutely speechless. So beautifully done, I'm so happy that you left the original way it was sung intact while adding a bit of yourselves into it - I never thought I'd appreciate a Simon and Garfunkel cover, but I'm absolutely blown away that I've found one I actually like more than the original. You guys never stop surprising me, keep on keeping on.

    When my family and I went on holidays we ALWAYS listened to this song ! Oh my God I was so little and all of us 5 tired people used to sing this song so loudly while driving 15 hours to Croatia. "Let's go to the ocean and be free" mama said. And I was so tired when papa took me in his arm and seated my belt. And than we drove and drove and drove with Simon and Garfunkel. Aaaaaaah flash back !

    The only problem I have with this cover is since I first heard it a few weeks ago, it’s in my head and it won’t leave. This is by far the longest and strongest case of song in my head ever. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

    The harmonies, the instruments, the vibes! Spot on! I love this!!!! This is a hard song to cover to truly get the meaning across. Really well done. Tried to sing the soprano part to it and that was great fun too. Wish I had friends to play it with.

    I love this great kind of team work. It's beautiful and touching and so peaceful (stop making war and start making music together. Or dance on it or listen to it).
