Have you heard of the 4 subtypes of INFP? The Rebel, The Innocent (witch I think you refer to), The Artist and the Dreamer. I dont know about it in depht so dont know how true or false these are but its interesting. Also we are all individuals in the end. PS. it is quite typical for INFP to question whether they are INFP or not.. :D

I’m not even surprised that most of the characters I felt a deep connection to are infp’s. And most of the movies here are my favourites.
I’m a INFP and I realized that as caring and kind and introverted we are.
We care about the little things
We care about people
We care and show so much caring and kind emotion and the world does not seem to like that very much and so we suffer through so much pain
I know this to be true. I have so much love to give. I see the beauty in Nature and the good in people. But I am also very in-tune with my darkness, and therefore can see it more clearly in others. I just don't want others to be in pain like I have. I wish to save them, if I could. But everything seems to be falling apart, including my sanity most days. RIP good intentions.
As an ENTP I just want to protect the INFPs in my life. I may not grasp the depth of their emotions and I probably would never be able to do that. But I still want to understand them. It's just so difficult for me to do that when they shut down and retreat to their island of feelings. I try to put myself in their shoes and let my imagination run riot just to try and figure out what they're feeling and/or thinking, but the thing is, my conclusions may be wrong, hence why I need them to communicate.
Do you guys have any tips for me to make them talk? I tried offering food one time, it didn't work.

Well its already very sweet that you're trying! I think a lot of people will appreciate that. Personally, i think its a good idea to give them space and dont push them, and try to create a comfy atmosphere (by for example not judge when they tell you smth) so they can feel at ease and come to you when they want to talk or just sit in silence. But everyone is different so idk if this will work, good luck tho :)
I'm infp and thank you!!. Two of my best friends are Entps. I love entps they're cool, clever, funny and charming. The thing is being an Infp means feeling like you're abnormal and not enough. Less worthy. Or something like that because everyone around you thinks differently, don't feel like you. Don't understand you. Make you feel like there is something wrong with you. İf you wanna make friends with an Infp, you can start by asking about their hobbies. We like reassurance and validation because we tend to feel like an outsider. We like deep conversations and actually it's quite fun with a debater (ENTP) we like nature animals and art. Hope you find a good hearted Infp friend
I’ll tell ya what, to my experience, we need a lot of time to identify what is wrong, and how we can fix it, because we want to do it all ourselves and not be a burden to others. They probably are dying to say something, and it definitely depends on how honest the person is with themselves, but I think the best thing you could do is express this exactly to them. I know it would mean the world to them if they knew that, cuz on the flip side they don’t understand you either, and WILL NOT know how to help you if they don’t know you want help in the first place. Communication goes both ways people! The only thing lest to say is know that they love you, and are trying their very best ❤️

It's so funny to me, all the comments here sounds like how to try to approach a cute little scared animal- giving them space, and food. 😭 well, as an infp I think if you try to find a common interest , they could really connect to you and open up. Ask them if they wanna hang out and what they'd like to do. If it's something they like , they'll feel more comfortable around you. As for me, I like going to the beach, or the movies.

Maybe it’s being misunderstood, and having to be in a constant conundrum of not wanting to bother people with our “stuff” but also having the dire need to tell people we love and the whole wide world and scream about all crazy things and express our excitement of being on top of the world or our sorrows of being in an absolute low, just so people could see the real you, the “authentic” you, and how you feel about things and how you see the world. as an INFP, this is something that has been leaching off of me. I never found a good genuine listener, they are hard to come by and apparently that’s what they call “friends”. But people around me seem shallow, I can read them like picture books, and it is disheartening to me to see all this, but there is nothing I can do about it. Perhaps the only way I can turn this around is being my best self, and treating myself well. Introspection and insight is a gift not many delve into, but INFPs of all types are the best at this. Use it to your advantage, be honest with yourself and figure out what’s on your mind, put it in paper (if you’d like, it helps) and try to make improvement plans if you require any. I’ve tried doing this, and I’ve progressed a little, still trying to get better, but I know I’ll make it. Good luck:)

WE ARE a melancholic type Animal Finatic. That does not mean we cannot have monumental joyous moments frequently, enjoy our lives and help others enjoy their lives too. Don't lose heart, we are who we are. Acceptance is a journey but breaking out of our comfort zone is carthatic. Try it. Be brave. Break out of your shell and express yourself instead of hibernating which is what we tend to do. I have done it and it has improved me life significantly. Editing, took alot of trial and error but I have reached a space where I feel safe.

People always think we are stupid or super positive and naive and happy all the time.
We kinda look like little kids for most of people.
But we only do this to make people happy and it hurts so much to know that only a few people will really understand you and look deeper into you and that will try to see behind our cute personality.

Alice, Coraline, and Victor(don't know that well) really hit me because I grew up watching all three movies, especially the first two. I think I feel so attached to them because I tend to daydream and hope/wish for my problems to be solved, and I love fantasy and adventure and magic, but I know that I need to focus on reality or else I'll never get better. Sometimes the daydreaming scares me because will I ever grow up? Will I make it in the real world? Will I ever let things sink in, instead of being stuck in my own world half the time? I just want to be young and have a carefree life.
Being an INFP is like... not being able to understand yourself at all. Your head always gets lost in space, your spirit stays chained to a cage, and your body floating in between dimensions. You feel all fuzzy inside. A mixture of the height of heaven and the depth of hell. So sweet... yet so angry. You're happy and you're desolate. You're lost in a dreamy state. Who ARE you?

As an infp, I’ve always had trouble really connecting to people. Sometimes I just feel really empty or hollow inside, and I feel like something is wrong with me. The people around me think I’m plain or boring, like a person with no presence. I want to truly connect to people on a deeper level, but I just don’t know how. I think it could be because I have to be vulnerable.

I'm tend to get lazy but if I feel passionate about something, I would do all or not doing it, there's no in between.
I feel sad but it's more melancholy feeling. Like I'm doing so many reflections it's better to listen to music and dance weirdly with it (slowly or fast), reading fanfics or watch TV to slow doing the reflections.
Ive deep feelings and I now understand and knows how to express them ( I think) but I still trying to learn how to control it.
When we feel depressed we get pretty depressed and that's sucks,
but when we feel good and happy and affectionate, we get overwhelmed by it and that's good. (I think)
i get really loud and when i’m anxious around others whom i want to impress. then, before i fall asleep, i look over all the things i said and the embarrassing things i did, and it hurts. knowing that if i would’ve just kept my mouth shut, i would’ve been fine.
infp’s think and feel so deeply. there’s no words in the english language that could express how i feel, if i tried to put it into words.
This is how I feel as well. Not just with immediate day-to-day situations, but sometimes even looking back at things I've said and done YEARS ago. "If only I didn't do this" is always how I think when I do something that could have been not done.

I always used to hate my personality because all the characters related weren’t the cool and badass one. Turn out it’s all the characters everyone get emotionally attached too :)
INFPs.......I realized that we always strive to make something beautiful with whatever we are handed. We take beauty and make it more beautiful, we take suffering and turn it into something beautiful...........Even if we try to not care and walk away, sometimes you just can't because you know there is another way. Like this we go out of our way to give and give and give until we run out. When we become empty, we would burn the whole world so that we can start over again with a new world.
Watching the INFP characters made me realize that they all share this same thing. They are all willing to fix and make things better, even if that means to destroy and restart the whole process, kind of like pottery.
