I've been playing the Jellybean for over a month and totally agree that it would be a perfect paddles for a beginner. That being said I have played for going on five years and have switched to using it as my main. I have spent much time and dollars chasing the latest and greatest and find it confusing at how good this paddle performs at this price point. I originally bought it for my wife because of the large sweet spot but kept it for myself after using it for a day. (bought her another JB).
I started with the "Friday" paddle and it's good, then I got the "Neonic Force" and this paddle is a great price and in my opinion is a great beginner power but has more pop, power and the spin is crazy awesome!
I played with the A11N Zenith C8 a few days ago and really liked it. Easy for beginners to use. Right now, it's only about $60 on Amazon, so it will give Friday paddles some competition for best value.
I really appreciate that the video is concise and to the point. My take is either go fun and cheap with Friday or get the Monarch Jelly Bean. Most people I know that are 3.5 and below play their best pickleball with the Jelly Bean (16mm)
Great list Dustin! Find it amazing how much this list has changed just over the last few months. Vatic ruled the roost for so long. Id love to see the next list showing what paddle to upgrade to after playing with these beginner paddles. BnB Fat Boy? Neonic Flare? Monarch All Court? J2K?
Yeah I don't have a lot of complaints about that series, but I think paddles have gotten better and better since then in one way or another. Huge sweet spots for #4, #3, all around great deal for for the $ for #5, lower cost and comparable playability for #2, and #1 is just a great paddle in a lot of ways and is a bit more versatile then the vpf.
I am surprised to the see the Quartz so high on your list. The reviews have been mediocre at best. Have you hit any of the stuff from Kiwi Labs? 0-0 Start or the Slice?
I think that if you view it from the nees of a true begginer, the Quartz is perfect, but that's just my opinion! Very easy to control, good spin and decent sweet spot, good look and a cheap price. That's probably a good example of a paddle that advanced players probably would not like due to its lower power, but I can't think of many reasons that would keep it off the list! Happy to hear the counter arguement, though. (:

Great list! I really like my Apollo and I am looking forward to trying my new Jelly Bean once it arrives.
First! Great review
You da man!! Thanks dude
Thanks for your list. I have a HUDEF Viva Pro Gen3 and going to try Spartus Apollo.
What is your favorite all court paddle that leans to power? Or is strictly just all court
These are awesome paddles. I know HUDEF MAGE Pro Gen2 is also very low priced Kevlar paddle($119).
love it

What's your main paddle now? I switch from monarch all court to esq 12.7 recently myself.
Trying to figure out which paddle I should be playing with!
Thanks for the review!
Thank you for your recommendation. I'm going to buy a Monarch Jelly Bean for my friend who just started playing a month ago.
Why were the Vatic Prisms left off the list? Less Sweet spot compared to these other paddles?

Thanks! Where would the Neonic Flow fit into all this?
