Things becomes standard only when iphone has it. Iphones just got higher refresh rate last year now everyone and their mom is complaining about 60hz that it was trending on twitter. Even the $800 iphone 13 has 60hz and no one ever complain. The double standard in American tech is crazy. Thanks to Jon Rettinger, I now understand why some of these happen. Great video as always

I doubt it's just the iPhone. The Note20 came out with a 60hz display around the same time as the iPhone 12 Series and people complained about the Note20 before buying an iPhone 12.

Yeah, you either suck up on Apple or you can't hang out with the cool boys. It's been apparent from the get go, those big reviewers always praised all iPhones as allmighty devices, justifying the ridiculous prices Apple asked for them, all the while never complaining about anything that was wrong about them. It's great that Jon made that public, so that it opened a lot of peoples minds about tech industry and marketing/advertising.

You're exactly right. Funny thing is Samsung has been doing these things for years. But Sammy has the worst battery life of any phone so their features mean nothing to me when the phone is dead black screen in my backpack lol. I don't like being attached to a battery pack either. I always end up ripping it out and a decent one is always too heavy

I don't see the big deal about wireless charging it's far less efficient than wired charging. Considering that the 6a is a 'budget" phone it's probably a good idea not to waste electricity. In the UK energy prices are sky high so every little helps.
Other reviewers say that Gorilla Glass V is prone to scratches so Gorilla Glass 3 might be a better idea for the 6a.
Overall the 6a will be a great option especially as Google have used Tensor instead of a lesser processor.
Great video keep up the good work 😊

But really any phone over £300 should have wireless charging by now i mean my Galaxy 7 edge did and i had that back in 2016. Also i think in UK just as well go for the 6 rather than the 6a as on contract not much difference in price, a couple of quid or so.

I have the 6 pro at 120hz refresh rate and had the pixel 4a at 60 Hz, the 6 pro is like butter where it is optimized for it but the 4a with 60 Hz was excellent, the way Android is optimized by Google it just works very well. I can't imagine someone's experience with the 6a not being excellent with 60hz (excluding side by side comparison and feel) unless something has drastically changed in the last year since i had my 4a.

Reviewer's are going nuts on Pixel 6A.
Iphone 12, SE 3 etc too have old sensors. The sensor in Pixel 6A is similar in size to the sensor used in Iphone 12 pro for context.
Iphone 13 still has 60Hz for 800$ and no one's complaining. Iphone SE 3 is using shitty 720p+ panel for the same price and it's acceptable.

*It's just a pill widget that's well implemented, nothing ground-breaking.*
Everyone was laughing about 48MP/108MP sensors on Androids and deemed it unnecessary and now that Apple has introduced it, it's suddenly a big innovation and camera improvement.
Those new satellite features are unavailable in most countries and the crash detection/Emergency feature and various emergency apps existed on Android's for ages.
These reviewers are suddenly appreciating the lockscreen modification and always on display which they barely talked about while reviewing an Android device.
At this point, I'm pretty sure 99.99% reviewers are sold out or most of them don't have the depth of reviewing gadgets properly. What Apple pulled off with the Iphone 14 a.k.a rebranded iphone 13 was kind of a miracle in itself.

Pixel 6a all the way for me for one simple reason - it has smaller screen. If processor is the same, RAM is the same, both have good stereo speares, both have very good cameras and displays why bother paying more.
Wireless charging is a gimmick and 120Hz while it's nice, it consumes a lot of battery plus doesn't make all that much difference.

Maybe the lack of wireless charging and fast charging is a good thing. They both can heat up the phone, which degrades the battery life significantly, and it’s already a phone that's very susceptible to overheating.

The Gorilla glass 1,2,3,4 & w/ever else is hype & marketing...nothing more, nothing less. The issue most people have is NOT the scratches, but the CRUSHING of either the screens or the backs due to drops, sitting on them, etc.

Your comment about WIRELESS CHARGING...while it may be _"super disappointing"_ to you, it's a *NON* issue altogether for me. And others who've reviewed phones w/o the feature, don't seem to drool over it & even downplay wireless charging, stating that they don't necessarily use it, and & it's not as effective. E/thing is pretty much relative, & hey...it all makes the world go round~~~:)

Well of course it would be better if it had a 90hz display and wireless charging. But, It has to sacrifice something to bring the price down. You can't simply replace a glass back with plastic and have a slightly smaller display and battery and expect a $150 drop in price. That's probably is $3 cheaper battery and a $10 cheaper display. More cuts than that are needed to bring the price down.

Wireless charging is an utterly useless and gimmicky feature that does nothing but charge your phone inefficiently and harm your battery.
Also, why should Google put the exact same features on its midranger entry as they do on their flagships? Doesn't make sense.
If they put a 90hz display on the 6a, there would be even less separating it from the standard 6. What business sense would that make for the company to have their flagships and midrangers have the same specs? That make no sense at all.
An iPhone 13 right now costs essentially twice the amount as the 6a and it still has a standard 60hz refresh rate and no one bats an eye. Yet we are expecting the 6a to have features that some of the most popular flagships don't even have and we want those features at midrange prices. That's an unfair standard to hold this device to.
The constant moving of the goalpost when we talk about non-Samsung Androids or non-Apple devices is getting really old.

  • @vincenthamn2220
    @vincenthamn2220 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Why would you switch to 6a if you already had the 6?
    Basic decision making.
You are comparing two great phones with different prices. 6a is for those on a tight budget but the feeling is like you're using a flagship device. Imagine using a phone made by Google with superior camera, great video (yes iphone 13 much better but they've improved alot when tensor came out), fingerprint scanner bit better from P6. Full stock android. This is much better than other brands if you're not into heavy gaming. Pixels are great iPhone competitors.

@@rmjz6238 S21 FE has bigger, brighter 120 Hz screen even if it's not adaptive also 4 years of android updates unlike 3 for the Pixel (both have 5 years of security). The battery is bigger, the Samsung/Qualcomm SoC is better than, Tensor which is slower than the other chips of it's competitors . Tensor is Google's first custom chip which is better off avoiding the bugs that come with a new technology much better to wait for 2nd gen. S21 fe has 3 cameras instead of 2 (the pixel probably makes better photos do software). All the fancy wireless and reverse charging on s21 FE which 6a lacks(not that important, but still). Overall Google phones unfortunately have hardware issues more often than the competition. It's been more than 6 months and the price of the s21 FE has dropped significantly where I'm at at least.

@@petarpetrov198 i agree that samsung is really better, but also a bit more expensive! is it worth the difference? thanks! i´m looking for the mid range around 400 euros. thought about 6A or a poco F4. i really like the s21 fe but it goes a bit over the price. i waited for the nothing phone but got disappointed with the chip.

@@Fabio_MCM Well I don't know how much they cost over there. Where I'm the s21 fe has dropped to 450$ and so is the regular pixel 6 so that makes the 6a useless. I've heard that the regular s21 has lowered it's price in other countries so maybe go for it if it's more affordable idk about the prices at your place.

    Wireless charging is so dumb
If I need to charge my phone it's probably because I'm using or want to use my phone.
I can not do that while charging wirelessly without looking like an idiot that is

I got a brand new 6 in the post yesterday. I was so excited after seeing so many positive reviews online recently... But... After spending a few hours with it, it's going straight back to Santa.
Reason: The white colour balance for the phone's display is just shockingly awful. It's a dirty, yellow/green hue, across all apps, media, and menus/OS. All of my recent photos of lovely brilliant winter scenes taken on my Huawei p30 lite, look gross on the Pixel 6. Yes, I've tried every possible combination of display and wallpaper settings, watched hours of videos for a fix - This off white issue was frequently mentioned on Reddit, across all 6's and 7's - So, unless the North Pole really is covered with yellow snow, I hope Santa's elves will honour their return policy.
