I directed/animated this video back in 2011, it's so cool to hear that it had an impression on you like that! It's definitely my favorite project of my career.
This song is one of those songs that hits you directly in the heart, so much so that something in you changes. No need for deep explanations, for those this has happened to, they will understand. As far as the video is concerned, I think its absolutely fantastic, right imagery, just enough suggestion to allow the viewer to interpret what they will from it without the trappings of some gaudy over produced piece of non-sense spoon feeding meaning. Its perfect.

I feel like this song is about stepping into adulthood and if you carefully hear the music, at one part it sounds like chains and shackles being dropped. "I've been waiting a lifetime for this. And I'm ready" like a child transition into the world. "Im carrying all your fears and your hopes father, they're so heavy on my back. Catch some sleep" she's reassuring her father that she remembers all the lessons he's taught her and he can relax.
This is song is one-of-a-kind! There's a lot of music out there and it isn't easy to have a song that really stands out. This is one of 'em that really makes the hiatus standing!
