I am seriously considering building the Zoom 98 as my first custom keyboard. For some random reason I've continued using my 15-20 year old Steelseries Shift keyboard until a week ago when I spilled a beer on it. 🙂 It started acting wonky after that so I took it apart to clean it for the first time since I bought it and realized just how crude and ancient it was. I started looking at TH-cam videos about keyboards and realized they had changed a lot in the last 20 years. I ordered a Logitech K845ch full size wired keyboard with Cherry Blue mechanical switches as a replacement and received it today. It's what I'm typing on now. I chose it since it was a full size mechanical keyboard from a reputable company and wasn't very spendy. It is so much better than my old keyboard I wish I had done this years ago. It's strange since I've built my own PC's for 20+ years and have a pretty powerful PC and twin 1440p IP monitors and a nice mouse but I never gave my keyboard a second thought. As much as I like the Logitech keyboard I want to try building one now that I've finally upgraded my keyboard. I have a Linux PC as well so a second nice keyboard will be useful. Thanks for the video. Subscribed! Sorry about my lengthy post but I was having so much fun typing on my new keyboard. 🙂
Mojoneko any advice on the type of housing for PC build? I want an actual liquid like clear glass tubing with a liquid? I want one and want it to be really fast?
Hi! Thank you for watching my review and providing a brief summary of your keyboard journey! I would say Zoom98 is a good almost full size board and its beginner friendly when it comes to building the only thing is would be the budget if you can spend $100+ on the board by all means its worth it but if not I suggest checking out the Monsgeek board by Akko as they have some good ones at a good price. Thank you for subscribing and for the comment again! This means a lot to me!
Thanks for watching means a lot! I would say if you really need an almost full size this is the way to go, but if you will just use it along with some gaming the zoom75 is the way to go!
@@midnight_blitz sound wise itll kinda give a little bit more balanced of sound disbursement thru out the board since it will resonate during bottom out
LFG! I love how the glassy sound signature of the WS HTs on this board.
HTs are by far my fave tactile for budget switch right now.
thanks so much for mentioning me 🥰 your video is so detailed and helpful, love it 🫶☁️
You're so welcome!
Agree, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we all have our own preferences. Great review as always, Rx!
Thanks! 👍

Grwat review as always!
Glad you liked it!
I'm torn between this and Zoom75, what do you recommend? Nice video!

Apparently they are gonna add an even bigger traditional full size, zoom109. Would you know any info about it?
no update about it yet, I did ask whats the next layout but they havent gotten back at me
E-white looks great but do you think the Zoom 98 Odyssey is worth getting for a black keyboard?
If you really like the layout of the 98 I think its worth getting a special color like that as it really adds uniqueness on your board!
@@Rx003Thanks! Just curious though, will the internal weight make much of a difference?

@@Rx003 does that mean it becomes more thockier or clackier compared if just with all foams?
@@midnight_blitz would depend on your switch and plate but it will just add more pitch to the board
how to zoom98 lcd change?

Hellloooo thanks for watching please share with your friends!
Tired of people saying budget and it being $100+ I can buy voice to text software for less!
Thank you for voicing out your opinion!
