I always had a fondness for the Camden releases. Back when I was first able to start buying Elvis albums in the late 70's, the Camden LPs (which were already reissues by then) were the only ones I could afford. Where regular LPs were in the $5.98 or higher range, Camden was priced at $3.98 range. And, yes, two dollars more was a fortune to a kid my age. You usually got $5 a week allowance, so the Camden were in my budget. So, yeah, I will always remember fondly my Elvis LP treasures I was able to buy way back in the day thanks to Camden😁
This is an entertaining and informative watch guys. The first few Camden's I consider an essential part of the catalogue. It's a shame they couldn't have been utilized and slightly revised for the FTD Classic Album format, as they could have been the natural 'home' for the final soundtrack recordings. I'd like to see you doing a similar revisionist piece for the regular back catalogue; perhaps incorporating the likes of single [and definitive] Stax and Jungle Room albums [10-12 tracks only], the Jerry Reed sessions, a superior Love Letters from Elvis LP and so on.
"If you squint and turn your head" lol. Agreed, the cover photo of "Postcards From Elvis" is a keeper. However, "Old McDonald" should be thrown into the same black hole as Johnny Cash's "Chicken In Black". 😂
I like your selections reimagined. My favorite camdens were "I Got Lucky" and Cmon Everybody" as they had songs from my two favorite movies, Kid Galahad and Follow that Dream.
Great job gentlemen. My favorite album cover: Elvis Sings Flaming Star...wow, just beautiful! Favorite track listings: I Got Lucky and Lonely Man albums. However, they are all terrific, and yes, I would buy them all with the exception of "Postcards", but the cover is pretty.
Love your channel. I'm a french guy and a big Elvis fan since I was a kid. You talk slow enough for me to understand almost everything, this is so nice!😊Totally agree with your tracklisting by the way.
Awesome video guys, well done. best use of an hour i've spent in a long while.. if you dislike someone you could buy them Postcards from Elvis as a gift, lol. Keep up the good work , T L C
You are doing a really really great job. Wow. Every single album is putting together very well in my opinion. My favorite album is „Elvis sings Flaming Star“. Outstanding cover and tracklist. Where can I buy all these album? Vinyl, CD or maybe both. Thank you for your 1 hour video. Love every second. Greetings from Germany, Karsten
Hi, Karsten! Thank you, I'm so glad you like them! These are just ideas of what we'd do, sadly there are no releases - if we had a lot of Patreon members, that might be something we could do eventually! For now, though, check the description for TH-cam playlists of each album. 🙂
Fantastic effort guys I love your thinking and artwork improvement the only one I might pass on would be Postcards from Elvis although I do love the cover . I would of loved to see what you would of done with my favourite Camden album Seperate Ways have you seen the original UK cover I think it is superior to the USA and the Australian cover fascinating exercise and very interesting great job sincerely Carl Australia
Hi, Carl! Thanks so much! I would like to say we'd have passed on "Postcards," but as someone who actually wants to buy the "Double Trouble" sessions, I know I'd get that one, too..lol And yeah, the UK cover of Separate Ways IS really nice - and you're right that we didn't cover that material. We may have to give this a part 2, after all!
I've been new to this channel for 2 or 3 days now, and will say this was my favorite video so far, I love the idea of creating new album covers and love to see more maybe revisit the live lp's beginning with elvis in person thru elvis in concert, see these lp's "except for on stage maybe" do not use the correct photo of the jumpsuits, etc that elvis wore at the actual concert recorded, would love to see what you guys can do to match the correct suit with correct concert, would love to see what the cover could actually have been, enjoyed thanks
Thank you so much! Yeah, this was definitely a fun one - and sparked a huge idea for season 2, but that'll be expanded on later, so I don't want to spoil it. But very glad you enjoyed this one, we had a great time doing it!
Great content guys, the track lists & covers are excellent (one VERY small criticism, it’s makes for slightly frustrating viewing, when we can’t see, what you guys are looking at, on your computer screen)
Thank you!! And not to worry, what we're generally looking at is the pictures that come up showing the tracklistings - but we'll definitely keep that in mind for future episodes, so I appreciate the feedback!
Hey Dear friends, how are you ? :) wow, you did a Fantastic job on this one, love love love the playing lists and the picture covers too, lots of fun, looking forward for the next video, Jamie my friend, love that 1956 Jacket you wear ;) a real great custum made , Cool ! Have a great weekend, Sincerely, Lior
Thank you so much, Lior! And you're right - that's a custom jacket that my grandmother made back in the early 2000's! Hope you have a great weekend, too!
@@liorb5625 Awesome! Sadly, my grandmother is no longer alive to make them herself - but we're looking into having them made again, and I'll let you know when we start up a new store for them! 😁
Also would to see a video of all the jumpsuits from 1969 to 1977 including the two piece dude suits etc, also the suit designs that didn't make it like zebra, lazer, aqua, etc thanks
Thanks! And Jerry was at two of sessions around that time (Sept 10-11 1967 and Jan 15-16 1968), but was not at the Oct 1st 1967 sessions where "Stay Away, Joe," "All I Needed Was The Rain," and "Dominic" were recorded.
a very fun experiment... the albums definitely become more attractive, and more "coherent" of course, almost no longer "budget" albums... and you avoided the "revised" Camdens becoming "anachronistic", they would fit the era of 1968-70 and could have made as much sense as the actual released albums... although i love the original "budget" albums as they are, this shows, i think, how RCA could have done a little better than they did (well, maybe not the "Postcards" album :) though it's a fairly consistent vacation/hollyday/postcard album) ... at the same time, however, i think i like the sort of "messy" selections on the original albums... when i "grew up" on these albums, i remember i liked the contrasting material on them... :)
Thank you so much - glad you enjoyed this! And John and I definitely agree with you: as much as this would have been more coherent, there's something about the hodgepodge of it all that helped us take in that all of this was Elvis and accept it for what it was. We've definitely got more experiments on the horizon, too - hopefully next season! 😁
Emi had music for pleasure i first heard an elvislp but it wasnt elvis session musicians smash hits presley style good version of in the ghetto also copied johnny cash simon and garfunkel budget price lps from woolworths.

You guys are really good at this. You could do radio. 56. Lifelong Elvis fan.
Radio would be fun - thank you so much, so glad you're enjoying the channel!
Knocked it out of the park gentleman. Very well done and lots of fun!
Thanks, Scott!
Nicely done you guys. The Camdens were my first Elvis LPs back in the day and they mean a lot to me but I love your ideas. Thanks for the video.
You're very welcome, Rick! Glad you enjoyed it - this was a blast for us, too!
By the way i forgot to mention, i LOVE that sound of your MY SOCIETY title song for this Channel , really awesome "Follow that dream" sound, Super ;)
Thanks, man! Yep, that's absolutely one of the influences we were going for! :)

I like your selections reimagined. My favorite camdens were "I Got Lucky" and Cmon Everybody" as they had songs from my two favorite movies, Kid Galahad and Follow that Dream.
Thank you! And same - those are two of my favorite soundtracks, and Follow That Dream is my favorite of his romantic comedy films!

Thanks so much, Tony! Glad you enjoyed it! And agreed - though, knowing me, I'd still buy "Postcards" just because I wouldn't have the material, lol

I do like that, too! :)
