Ty for reaction to the danish Hunsman Corps. If you want, you have react to the danish Frogmen Corps. There is a series about them. I can tell you, the danish King is frogman himself! :)

Thank you for these reaction episodes. It was fun to hear your impressions as a British soldier. I can only second the two suggestions already given re. the Frogmen Corps (5 episodes) and Sirius Patrol (3 episodes) series. Both can be found on the Danish Defence Documentaries channel and both have good subtitles.
The Frogmen series is easily the most well produced and doesn’t just follow selection and training, but includes deployments to secure chemical weapons in Syria and anti-piracy missions to the Gulf of Aden. The Sirius Patrol is worth watching because it is probably the only special forces unit of its kind and shows how different the task can be in an arctic environment.
I don’t know if it’s noticeable for non-Danish speakers focusing on subtitles, but the Huntsmen series (although good) is quite repetitive and tedious with a lot of recycled footage throughout the series. It could easily have been cut down to five or six episodes, in my view.
Cheers from DK and thank you for your service.

The Sirius Patrol is fucking dope.

Definitely. The new Jaeger Corps documentary felt very cheesy/full of cliches but it was nice to see anyway, although it didn't paint them in the best light. The Frogman and Sirius series are way better. There is also an older Jaeger Corps documentary following the operative Jaegers in Afghanistan which is probably a better view of how the corps is compared the selection series, however the video quality is pretty bad.

About Kanos comment on enjoying the o-march, I think it's not so much about enjoying the scenery, but for him to stay at a positive mindset and not thinking about his nose or leg injury

Take a look at the Sirius Sled Patrol - not as hardcore as the Frogmen or the Huntsmen but it is a very unique unit. There is a lot of subtitled material available.

Whether in deployment or in training there are generally always zones that are deemed safe and having your weapon ‘locked and loaded’ is not deemed as important as having it in your immediate vicinity. (On deployment it goes without saying that there is a much greater focus on awareness of your surroundings and weapon system than during a common march) - all in my experience serving**

The rolled trousers are just for ventilation during marching. Way back in the WW1-WW2 era, the trousers weren't hemmed so all soldiers had to roll them up to fit their legs. If you follow the current regulations, you're supposed to blouse the trousers on top of the boots in garrison and wear them down covering the boots in the field, because of ticks etc. It seems like they separate marching exercises and tactical marching, which is why they're not ready to fight at all times and don't have a perimeter when stopping etc. although the merits of not always training as you fight can be debated.

They are not just for show. The Danish Jaegers has been involved in every US conflicts around the world for many years. Afghanistan, Syria, Kuwait, Iraq and North Africa are officially known but many others missions are kept in secret. As far as I know they have only lost one soldier in combat

During my time in the Danish Army during my conscription service, we were taught the one hand on weapon at all times rule. I varied a bit on how heavily it was enforced. Some sergeants followed strictly the one hand on pistol grip rule, while other simply required os to maintain control of the weapon allowing for a more relaxed posture. One thing however that where constant was that the rifle was always pointing in a safe direction. We only had a 2 point harness, however, non conscripts where issued a 3 point harness that allowed for the weapon to be stored on your back, with the barrel pointing into the ground and that seemed to be allowed. What I take from this is that the danish armed forces, look more on control on the rifles, than a steadfast rule of grip. Don't know which is better, but I can see arguments for both.

We were taught to always have a hand on the pistol grip and weren't issued slings for the first month to teach us to carry the rifle properly. We were told we're allowed to carry the rifle sloppily (like having it across the chest with your arms folded) if we were patrolling in Afghanistan at 40C with body armour (ie. when you're just a lowly conscript in Denmark, you need to follow the rules. Our sergeants kept complaining about the regular troops acting like cowboys having a bad influence on us conscripts, but we all looked up to the cool guys instead of our sergeants fresh from school)

Pretty sure they'll learn about the one hand on the gun thing😊, but right now I think the instructors are focused on other things. Remember that it is the entrance exam, not the training itself! Danish Navy Frogmen Corps usually prefers recruits without prior Military training (so they can mold them themself). ) Heard a rumor that the Army Hunter Corps is starting to do the same. No bad habits from the regular Military. They shape there warriors, as they want them 😊 ! Most SOF units in NATO are based on British SAS ! Yes. We have different Cultures, but basically follow the SAS playbook 😊 ! Same playbook, different Culture. That way we all bring something different to the Table 🤣 ! Same thing but different 🤣🤣! Super GOOD Vlog 👍😎👍
