I been rockin Supreme since the early 2000s and still have pieces from that era. And yeah, the post-Jebbia stuff doesn’t appeal as much for me. But I’ll still rock Supreme. The biggest issue I notice is that everyone that rocks these overrated brands is that they all rock it the same dang way! You can spot a hypebeaster from a mile away with a naked eye. My philosophy in fashion has always been: it’s not about WHAT you’re wearing, but HOW you wear it. I’ll put on a dang trash bag and make that sh!t look flyyy! lol
James Jebbia is still involved creatively but he has sold his shares, so basically there is a pre corporate owned phase and the current one. But yeah I still rock supreme too because there are always hyped phases with brands…people who stay loyal are the true fans, others are just hype driven

Just visited Japan this month and I was actually surprised by how much Bape I saw in Tokyo and Osaka. The shirts at least were as prevalent as Stussy or Human Made
Reggie just casually roasting my entire closet because I like the fashion trends of the 2016-2019 era, so I dress like a 2016-2019 hype beast. The only clothing I stopped wearing was Vlone and ASSC because the quality was bad.
No no no… never that. I have no problem if you like these labels. My issue is the amount of people who wear them for no other reason than to seem fashion forward. If you like that era I stand by you 100%
I too still rock all those hype beast brands. Skate culture is deeply rooted in my background so I don't intend on moving onto other brands that are now trendy.
Much respect for being honest about Off-White. Same feelings about the brand, even years prior to Abloh's too early demise. Somehow, everything they came up with just felt like rebranded Pyrex.
the good thing abt brands like preme, fog, and bape is you can so easily tell the REAL hypebeasts, that actually care about the history of the brand and why what they like is hype, from clout chasers, no matter what era youre in. also the bape runway was amazing. genuinely felt like something old bape would do.

I wear CP Company and Stone Island, they've just about killed themselves in England, so much so I'm currently looking for hoodies done by British skate shops and breweries, I think it's time to mix it up a bit, I bought a BAPE hoodie and felt like a bit of a chav wearing it, I am so conscious of it when I'm wearing it, so now it just hangs in the wardrobe, and Supreme id just not buy, my town is flooded with copies sadly, the same with Off White and Palm Angels, the streetwear scene in my town on the Humber shoreline is decent enough, I'm just glad the internet exists for purchasing. As always great video, and food for thought, I'm 45 years old so I'm well settled into what I like to wear, everything I buy is mostly three colours, I kid you not.
as newer generations are born the fashion will change and the newer hip brands will pop up etc... but each generation creates certain milestones and pieces that stick. bape for example was always a dope concept and nice piece when seeing it in person since it wasnt just some screen printed or print design. now youll see new gen brands / fashion doing the same type of full zip hoodie with random prints, gems, patches on them and people still fw the full zip hoodie vibe that bape instilled to this day. fashion to the masses now adays though and these newer gens just seem to be e girl/e boy type when it comes to online fashion. the ones out and about in the real world respect the higher end and styled fashion much more.

Love your videos but this one wasn’t it for me, sounded like a lot of hate, to the point you caught your self mid sentence and noticed it yourself 😂😂😂 Just cause you don’t like the prices or pieces doesn’t mean it’s overhyped. Just means it’s not for you. when someone speak up about overrated brand, people who got halo effected by the brand through the founder/rapper/celebrity persona hype etc would become rabid dogs of course, thank you for the knowledge that keeping me on the edge.
I would expect Bape in Japan to have a way better or at least just a different selection that isn’t available in the west, making it worth flocking to as a foreigner..

have to agree heavily with you reggie. when people think of streetwear, these brands are the ones people think of and think those are the ONLY brands they think you can rock to be cool when theres better shit out there that people dont know or will never know cause they have tunnel vision
I feel being out of India, a streetwear brand which is underrated yet overrated is superdry, like for real that brand is way too good to be true.. 😅 just an opinion!
After watching: Agree with all your points though. I think most people just want people to not hate what you are wearing rather than truly stand out or express themselves so we’ll always have the celebrity “dress like this and at least people can’t say your dressed bad” kinda folks. Always cool when people do manage to do it though. Keep making these videos bro much love.

@@THECASUALco used to wear Bape back in 2007-09 like most people into hip hop and had the ability to. Grew up fast forward to now and I’m full into Americana/well made heritage brands (Red Wing/Iron Heart/Visvim/Indigofera/Etc.). Would be interesting to see your opinion on if any brands in that genre is overrated as well.
@SeemeonMars that's a tough one cause heritageheads are a lot more particular with a brand based off history and construction. Red Wings for example *might* be considered overrated to some vocal individuals in the Americana world because they're ubiquitous in that fashion circle, similar vein to how Doc Martens is to people invested in alt/Gothic based fashion.
This is the answer I would give. It depends on the community. Doc Martens are like the fisher price boots for workwear fans BUT many of them understand that’s how many get started. So by that measure it’s all g.
Agreeing on Essentials, I do not wear them out at all and got a hoodie and knit for runs to gym/groceries. After seeing them everywhere I use them to sleep in the winter lmao. Super comfortable, I can imagine mainline FoG to be exponentially better

I dont care much for most of these brands, but I agree they're ALL overrated. I do however wear Supreme, mostly because I have a hard time finding brands that fit. And Supreme have a relaxed loose fit that isn't too boxy on both their tees and hoodies. So I've stuck with them. They have some good graphics every now and then too and the quality feels good, it feels premium. So thats also a plus... I do like the concept of ASSC. Not in any way the dude, or his reason for created it - but in my own way, being anti social, letting people know first hand. I like it. Haha... The problem here however is their awful quality and fit - they feel as badly produced as any cheap fast fashion brand... Anyway, thanks for the vid! Always interesting! ✌
Palm angels = minimal Ed Hardy; FOG essentials = 30's Karen going to get Starbucks ; ASSC = reskinned Gildan clothing
“Reskinned Gildan” is next level comedy

Any brand that reaches critical mass will ultimately become overrated.
FOG Essentials is just a mid-fashion uniform at this point
It was never high fashion to begin with lol so it being mid is exactly where it suppose to be. The hype made it high fashion
It feels like its just a somewhat overpriced but high quality fashion brand now.

The channel 9 dog clip was so unexpected but love to see it hahahaha
All these brands pioneered what streetwear is today
Supreme just overdid their high fashion collabs, but they will always be Supreme. Save for Supreme and Bape, I agree with the rest of the list.
Totally agree with you specially essential love your video 👏👏👏👏👏🇬🇧🙏
1. Chuck Taylors 2. Stan Smiths 3. Vans 4. Feiyue 5. Sambas 6. Le Coq Sportif Astra 7. Xero HFS
so I don't think Off-White is an underrated streetwear brand
Replace all of these hoodies with Champion, American Apparel, DIVIDED, Hanes ecosmart Forever 21, Gildan, Fruit of the loom eversoft, PUMA.
