Nimbatus is a game where you start off with a TIE Fighter, upgrade to an X-Wing, then to a Death Star. Then back to an X-Wing, but this time each wing is itself a Death Star.
Then you get to Level 2.

Dan, I will be honest with you, even though you won't see this at all. I don't like the new logo, the new outro or the new intro. But as a channel and content wise, you have never been better. In the last weeks, you have made some of the best videos you have ever made, and that's coming from a long time subscriber (Since Indie Games - Overgrowth video). Great work on the new videos, they have been so great in quality that I'm actually impressed videos like this still exist in the times of the adpocalypse. Keep making stuff like this and you will pass 3 million subs easily (though I know you care more about the content than subs, and judging by the like/dislike ratio I would say you are doing better than ever)

Dan, those large "batteries" you've been putting on, the 4x4 ones, have barely more than the 1x1 ones. They're solar panels, their advantage is they make energy quickly.

The solar panels are actually the best, by comparison.
You don't need loads of storage if you are generating more power than you can physically use.
This is basically reassembly with logic and automation and stuff

when Dan doesn't realize that solar panels only have 25 energy capacity and the other one has 200 and is confused why his shields wont work.
the solar panels have better recharge
but have fuckall storage, his shield wont work because he doesn't have enough energy to keep it up long enough for it to expand. the solar panel has 25 energy capacity and 25 energy recharge, while the other one has like 200 capacity and like 10 recharge. it so much better for what he's trying to do with shields.

This reminds me of reassembly. I used to get a fleet of around 100 small drones and carve a path through the plant zones. Ahh, memories...
Yeah reassembly is great. Although the Farmer race was pretty OP with their solar panels.
I got the beta testers for that game! ;D Check the credits for Angus And Alexis! ;D
I never used the solar panels too much. What made the farmers overpowered in my opinion was the plants. You could make a planter if you had a factory, and if you were just starting out you could use an asteroid to generate infinite R. Using that you can get a fleet of nearly 200 up in like 20 minutes, which I know because I just did.
Wesley Lance Damn, probably alot simpler than my massive solar panel ships smashing into each other.
Yep, though I should probably mention that they weren't really ships, just oversized drones. The smallest ones were literally a core, an arkas laser, and 3 small thrusters. They wouldn't last a second on their own, but together they can take down anything. It's a lot like a bee hive or an ant colony.

Reassembly was my JAM, and this game seems like it's doing something very similar - will definitely be keeping an eye out for this one.

That sumo-mode reminds me of those crazy videos where autonomous robots try to sumo eachother out of a ring. Has some interesting tactics to fool the opponent's logic system.

At the start you replaced all your batteries with a solar panel that has a really high recharge rate, but low energy storage. That is why the bio rockets where not firing. The same thing happened to me.

The one thing this game needs desperately is a mirror mode, a la From the Depths.

this looks cool. it's got what most similar games are missing, which is the automation part. in most games like this, if you want something complex done, you need to manually manage it with several inputs.

I know that your vive died apparently on the desert bus, and that when you get it working/ get a replacement you're just going to play fallout 4 vr forever (just like I probably am now that I'm out from college for a month and it's almost done downloading) but you should try the vr game "Climbey." It's climbing/parkour, as the name suggests, and has multiplayer and a level editor/steam workshop. It's prett fun, and *oh who am I kidding fallout 4 vr is out who would want to do anything else*
*don't forget to contact your state governer and demand that they work towards preventing the FCC from fucking everyone in a couple days though*

I think it would've been cool if you used sensors and logic to make the digging lasers fire whenever you had and object in front of you. That way the digging would be completely autonomous.

If you like this you should have a look at "Gimbal" Pretty much the same concept but for Multiplayer, it's quite a cool thing! :)

I quite loved From The Depths, and spent weeks just fuddling about in the creator. Though, it is the game that taught me that I am NOT an engineer. Helicopters that insist on flying upside down, submarines that don't go up, a rotating boat that blows itself up if an enemy shows up on the left...
