Congratulations! You've been blessed by the almighty God, Reddit! I hope your channel well and that you grow prosperous... Keep up the gaming news brah
Finally a game with some history in it! I am really looking forward to this game, if the game is as good as the trailer, this will be the game of the year. Subscribed!
+Usatyi Ion Actually War Thunder does. Aside from the fact it teaches you about the tanks and planes in the WW2 if you have the skills and right plane you can actually fight actual historic battles with the vehicles that fought in that era.
+Zievs Yeah i think we are they only one's and i don't know why people think this is battlefront just cause there's space ships it makes it a auto battlefront it looks amazing
+MrSomeWhatOkay Highly recommend Dan Carlin's podcast on WW1 "Blue print for Armageddon" if you want to learn more about WW1. Its pretty long, but amazingly informative.
+LeafyIsQueer Well what grade are you in I know for sure junior and senior in highschool we spend at least a week on the topic (Which is dumb) I swear history class goes by so fast which is good for those who don't really care for it but sucks for the ones who do
The armoured train that appeared for half a second is actually the legendary Russian Zaamurets train (note the iconic double round turrets). This train was built in 1916 and first fought against the Austrians in Galicia, but then captured by the Bolsheviks in 1917 after the Russian Civil War broke out. It was then captured by the Czech Legion in 1918 and embarked upon he epic fighting journey from Ukraine to China, through the Trans-Siberian Railways. The train ultimately ended up in Chinese warlord Zhang Zuolin's hands and fought in China's civil war before finally being captured by the invading Japanese in 1931, at the dawn of WWII. That's what I call an awesome story.
+χρονης κ. I hope it is gallipoli for I had relatuves in the NZ army branch of the ANZAC's and it would be cool to kiwis in the game or some recognition for ANZAC's who died.
Top tier analysis, man! When I first watched the Battlefield 1 trailer, I was a little indifferent but, after talking about it and giving it another view, it left me with goosebumps. +Mike The Situation I haven't touched cod since blops 1 but I have to get it for the MW Remastered. Sucks they're not releasing them as individual games.
At 07:33- to 07:46 to give you a little trivia, Australian Tunnelers served multiple roles on the front. Some were infantry before they became tunneler, but the majority of Australian Tunnelers were engineers, logistical personnel and artillerymen. They were mainly recruited from other units due to their knowledge of ordnance, explosives and engineering. When they weren't tunneling they sometimes returned to their old unit and specialization to cover battlefield loses.
I'm quite surprised there is no reference to the french army. I mean, it was one of the main forces during this war, it had a lot more soldiers engaged (and a lot more who died), the center of the conflict was in France. This army also had planes, the said-so best tanks of the war (Renault FT), etc... I'd be pretty disapointed if it wasn't shown at all. I think it would be interresting to have multilateral battles : not only Americans vs Germans or British vs Ottomans, but British, French and Americans (with 3 different spawns) not on the same team but allied with each other, vs Germans and Austrians. I think it could be great
Yes they were, at 5:56 there were latter- war French Infantry. I guess everyone is distracted by the German to recognize the soldiers they next scene. Admittedly I didn't notice it at first either, it wasn't until later that I scrutinized the scene and realized they weren't M1917 Brodie Helmets, But M15 Adrian Helmets. Now they were distributed amongst the Entente, but mainly to France's co belligerents and colonies, i.e. French Morocco, French Algeria and French Indochina. Both the British and the French brought up foreign fighters to join their armies in individual regiments, similar to the Harlem Hellfighters that we've been hearing about. Great Britain and her allies used The M1917 Brodie Helmet, so if find it hard to imagine these are anyone but French. This seems to be a small piece of information but trust me, it's most likely true (not being arrogant) also the point you brought up about their importance to the war is probably the driving point in this. France is in the game.
+Flakfire This was the thread! www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/4i8flv/youtuber_gives_amazing_analysis_of_bf1_almost_no/ Great video, I'm not even interested in this game really, looks cool but I'm a CS:GO type of guy: however, this was an amazing watch!

You sound so professional, hard to see that on youtube nowadays, its mostly "HEY EVERYBODY BOB6969 HERE AND WERE JUST GONNA JUMP STRAIGHT INTO THIS!!" While you're very collected and well, professional sounding, no "ummm's" Or "uhhh's" throughout.
Excellent video! Your commentating voice is astounding. If I may offer some constructive criticism: Tone down the ding sound effect. The arrow alone suffices! One or two dings is okay, but after the 1oth one it gets a bit annoying!
Excellent breakdown video. By far the best I've seen. Some of the other attempts were utterly abysmal. I might be able to help out a little with the plane identification though. The British biplanes at 1:56 and 3:04 are Bristol F.2s. You can tell by the flat sloping rear fuselage at 1:56, the slope of the nose (visible in the background plane at 1:56) and the unique way in which the fuselage was suspended midway between the upper and lower wings (visible in both shots). The Bristol F2 was a two-seater which handled similar to a fighter, giving crews a best-of-both-worlds range of options for aerial combat. This also means that we likely won't be complete sitting ducks in one. It was armed with a single forward firing Vickers machine gun and 1-2 Lewis guns for the observer. It looks like Battlefield is using the single-Lewis variant, although a second Lewis might be available as a vehicle upgrade in multiplayer. Image: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/24/Ross_Smith_Bristol_Fighter.jpg More info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_F.2_Fighter I'm reasonably sure that the biplane seen at 4:24 and 7:17 is a Sopwith Camel, since the wing shape (seen at 4:24) is very similar: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/Sopwith_F.1_Camel_drawing.jpg The distinctive fuselage hump of the camel is quite visible at 7:17: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Sopwith_Camel_F.1_Right_Rear.jpg The Camel at 7:17 appears to have been outfitted with a Lewis gun on its top wing and Le Prieur rockets, both field modifications that were tried out with the Camel, possibly hinting at significant vehicle upgrades in multiplayer? Lewis guns on a Camel: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/Sopwith_Camel.jpg (Couldn't find Le Prieur rockets on a Camel as that was a far rarer field mod) Le Prieur rockets were French incendiary weapons primarily intended to shoot down observation balloons and Zeppelins by setting them alight: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Prieur_rocket The Sopwith Camel was normally armed with two forward firing Vickers machine guns. Adding an additional 1-2 Lewis guns to the top wing gave the pilot even more firepower. Wing mounted Lewis guns were typically attached to a track which allowed the pilot the option of aiming upwards at a 45 degree angle and/or reloading the Lewis from within the cockpit: www.werkost.com/images/se5/se5gun.jpg The one in the trailer appears to have been pulled back, raising the muzzle upwards. I believe the triplane shown at 7:17 is another Fokker Dr1 like the red one shown earlier. The Sopwith Triplane had three wings of equal length as seen here: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/SopTri4.jpg The plane shown here has wings that widen as you go up, like the Dr1: i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/11/11/1415706060889_wps_115_FROM_JOHN_JEFFAY_AT_CASCA.jpg Fokker Dr1 versus Sopwith Camel is a pretty well-balanced matchup for multiplayer, as they were both highly maneuverable rotary engined planes. Interesting sidenote: The entire engine spun with the propeller, which created a lighter engine but also massive torque. A skilled pilot used this to his advantage and maneuvered with the torque. A newbie fought the torque. The main fighters used by the British in the latter years of WWI were the Sopwith Camel, which had the severe torque problem and the Se5a which did not as it used an inline engine. Both aircraft were produced in similar numbers and both produced similar kill counts, but you were five times more likely to die in a Camel.
Don't be a condescending elitist. He genuinely attempts to pronounce the "ch" correctly, which is pretty difficult for the american tongue, where most others would just say 'ricked-hoven'. I'm not saying Flakfire's pronunciation is perfect, but that he deserves kudos for respecting it.
incredible observation and researching in this video. Definitely earned this sub, keep it up I look forward to seeing more. really excited for this game now
Absolutely amazing analysis. I watched Gamespot and IGN's trailer dissections and they totally pailed in comparison to yours. Subbed and liked. Epic work my friend! Edit - You also made the front page of /r/gaming and /r/battlefield in the last couple of hours. Grats dude!
+DANNYonPC but its the logo of the Frostbite 3 Engine. The game looks like Star Wars Battlefront, so I guess its no new engine. But they don´t need a new one now ^^
+reload I have a theory that they released battlefront just to test the new version of Frostbite before using it for this game. And good thing too, because that engine looked absolutely beautiful.
That thing about the arab women is 100% correct, i asked my father which is of arab descent and he says those tattos means she part of a tribe of beduoo or Bedouin. BTW great job reddit brought me here
The Alps scene at 6:22 looks like one of the battles of the Isonzo river, or maybe more specifically the 1917 battle of Caporetto. They were a series of grueling mountain battles fought between 1915 and 1917 between Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies, the church shown looks like it may have been inspired by the Slovenian town of Kobarid, which was near the front lines, and which has an interesting WWI museum I can recommend visiting.
Subbed, you're amazing. Not only is your voice addictive, but the way you lay everything out and your knowledge of the topic you're talking about is great. Good job!
The guy at 8:00 appears to be the same man from the zeppelin scene. Given he's clearly bothered by the bombardment, that lends credence to the shell-shock hallucination idea.
This video made the front page of Reddit! Amazing job!

As a history and gun expert, I am very proud that us history nerds can prove are worth in popular video game trailers.
+Ghost
Haha, I found some other trailer breakdown that was like "OMG check out this LMG, OMG the planes in this game will be old style planes".
+Ghost you did nothing to contribute to this video.
Except that sword was not "typical of the middle east," it was almost definitely a 1796 pattern French light cavalry sabre.
A popular and very ubiquitous sword, especially in northern Africa, due to the Napoleonic campaign in 1798-1801.
Republic commando FTW!

I learned more about WWI in this video than I did in history class

The distinctive fuselage hump of the camel is quite visible at 7:17: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Sopwith_Camel_F.1_Right_Rear.jpg
The Camel at 7:17 appears to have been outfitted with a Lewis gun on its top wing and Le Prieur rockets, both field modifications that were tried out with the Camel, possibly hinting at significant vehicle upgrades in multiplayer? Lewis guns on a Camel: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b2/Sopwith_Camel.jpg (Couldn't find Le Prieur rockets on a Camel as that was a far rarer field mod) Le Prieur rockets were French incendiary weapons primarily intended to shoot down observation balloons and Zeppelins by setting them alight: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Prieur_rocket
The Sopwith Camel was normally armed with two forward firing Vickers machine guns.
The Sopwith Triplane had three wings of equal length as seen here: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/SopTri4.jpg
The plane shown here has wings that widen as you go up, like the Dr1: i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/11/11/1415706060889_wps_115_FROM_JOHN_JEFFAY_AT_CASCA.jpg
Fokker Dr1 versus Sopwith Camel is a pretty well-balanced matchup for multiplayer, as they were both highly maneuverable rotary engined planes.
FINALLY SOMEONE IN THIS COMMUNITY KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT HISTORY.
+Royal Canadian Mapping Thanks! I try!
Flakfire I'm glad someone actually had some sources. unlike EVERY other person who thinks its in North Africa.
I really like that you put in the effort of attempting to pronounce foreign names correctly! (And pretty darn well, too)
2:16 lol
Don't be a condescending elitist.
He genuinely attempts to pronounce the "ch" correctly, which is pretty difficult for the american tongue, where most others would just say 'ricked-hoven'.
I'm not saying Flakfire's pronunciation is perfect, but that he deserves kudos for respecting it.
+AlertF16 the more you press that the funnier it gets lmao
RagnarRox Still, you said: ''he did pretty darn good''.
incredible observation and researching in this video. Definitely earned this sub, keep it up I look forward to seeing more. really excited for this game now
+Martin Vee Thank you! More on the way!
so much knowledge, I love it. I wasn't expecting to have so much in a game analysis. Props to you dude. Loved the analysis
Absolutely amazing analysis. I watched Gamespot and IGN's trailer dissections and they totally pailed in comparison to yours. Subbed and liked. Epic work my friend!
Edit - You also made the front page of /r/gaming and /r/battlefield in the last couple of hours. Grats dude!
Noticed that the frostbite logo had no number, hmm
+DANNYonPC Maybe the renamed it to Frostbite 1?
+DANNYonPC but its the logo of the Frostbite 3 Engine. The game looks like Star Wars Battlefront, so I guess its no new engine. But they don´t need a new one now ^^
+reload
I have a theory that they released battlefront just to test the new version of Frostbite before using it for this game. And good thing too, because that engine looked absolutely beautiful.
Wow man that was amazing .Nice video !
So close to 1 million views. Congrats man. Keep up the good work!
That thing about the arab women is 100% correct, i asked my father which is of arab descent and he says those tattos means she part of a tribe of beduoo or Bedouin. BTW great job reddit brought me here

i love this guy's voice
+blip bloop blap Thanks!
+Flakfire If you don't mind me asking, what microphone do you use?
Nice analysis! (I'm here from Reddit)
Reddit can really change someones life, great freaking work!
Hey look, someone who actually has a clue what he is talking about! Great video, keep it up!
+Teabag John (TeabagJohn) Why, thank you!
By Axis do you mean Central Powers
+Trojan Hippo yes
Thanks
+Jores Central Powers were Austro-Hungary, Germany, Ottomans, Bulgaria - at least they're the main ones. Not just Germans.
+Jores lets not forget austria
+Trojan Hippo Yes! Was eyeballs deep in analysis trying to get it out the door. Thanks for the correction.
Subbed, you're amazing. Not only is your voice addictive, but the way you lay everything out and your knowledge of the topic you're talking about is great. Good job!
+- 0 - Thanks!
It must be weird looking back at these videos
Why did I get this recommended again 3 years later
The guy at 8:00 appears to be the same man from the zeppelin scene. Given he's clearly bothered by the bombardment, that lends credence to the shell-shock hallucination idea.
I think thats just from the loudness of the bombs!
Full of information my mind did not comprehend while I was watching the trailer! Thank you for explaining everything! Subscriber earned!
