The problem with using bondo is that it doesnt expend and contract with the wood and cracks causing call backs, a better option is dap platinum patch . Bondo os a great product but not for this application
You have to use a wood stabilizer on it that petrified the wood. That wont let the wood move. If the wood cant move then the bondo stays put.
I've used a wood filler, that shit peeled off my garage door a few years later, the fiberglass I used is still where it was put.
Bondo to fill wood stabilizer to petrifie and fiberglass to cover over. Its not going any place or ever cracking.

It's a tube that comes with Bondo.
This repair is no good. Only hiding damage. Rotten wood needs to be removed.
First of all coming from an automotive background Bondo is made specifically chemically to bond with metal. Not smooth metal either. And you are doing nothing to clean the surface of the substrate? Bondo will not form a lasting bond here, not even close.
Actually the best way us to cut the rot away and replace the wood , a couple of scarf joints and your done , Again , Bondo outside especially near a high moisture area like that is asking for nothing but trouble , It will eventually crack and fall out with expansion and contraction , No way around it . Use new wood or better yet pvc trim .
Even though bonds does crack it all depends, what kind of surface it goes on, if it's a joint on fascia then forget it it'll crack badly by next day, but surfaces like this won't crack as fast
Why not change the trim

You can find different colored lacquer putties automotive parts stores. Some stores specialize in the auto paint products more than the others.

@@jacobbresson9031 at a commercial auto paint store I use to buy some what came in a caulking tube. Came out light blue dried light grey. Comes with a resealable top also lasted for years.

Did nobody notice that he moved to a different part of the trim from what he was working on at the end? He was painting a completely different part of the trim....Makes me think the part he was sanding wasn't so pretty.
No, it's the same spot...look for the protruding dot on the lower right which coincides on both frames.
add dry white powder paint to the red patty try adding little bit of water or paint thinner see what happens
Where do you find powdered paint?
