Very disappointed that this video implies that the United States is a democracy with majority rule -the United States is a republic which is very different than a democracy and MOB rule - or majority rule ... Democracy is the system used by the people in order to hold together the Republic. I suggest the viewers and the author of this video information on different forms of government and why we are not a democracy but a republic - it's a very very important distinction ... I'm writing this after only 50 seconds into this video - perhaps it clarifies it later on - but for me, since I'm going down a rabbit hole regarding history, politics and civics in general - I've decided to move on based on this - perhaps I will revisit this video in its entirety at another time. Thank you just the same

I see you flunked set theory in elementary school. Democracy, where votes determine outcomes, is the super-set. Republic, where votes determine representatives who determine outcomes, with one level of indirection, is the sub-set.

Up until the 1950s schools taught sovereignty law which means we make the laws not Washington DC

    Intent of Apportioned Representative Districts
    IDEA FOR DISCUSSION:
    “APPORTIONED REPRESENTATION”
    What was the INTENT,
    Reasoning and Purpose
    for the APPORTIONMENT clause,
    in the U.S. Constitution?
    If the Apportionment Clause
    was Intended to create
    Apportioned Districts,
the Purpose of which was to
    Elect a Representative,
    to actually REPRESENT
the views of the citizen constituents
    that reside within that
    Representative District,
    then wouldn’t ANY INFLUENCE
    from citizens (or non citizens)
    which Reside OUTSIDE
    of that defined Representative District,
    be an INFRINGEMENT,
    upon the Constitutional RIGHTS,
    of the Citizens
    which are Constituents
    of that Representative District?
    This might be
    a great topic for discussion!
    Just an Idea for Consideration!
    Thanks

The one thing our government forgets is the people not voting are also making a statement of no to all candidates.
