As a HVAC engineer i suggest you to give a rigid support below unit. Because window ac shud be installed on widows which are above the wall not on glass slider. Instead you might have gone for portable AC unit.

Instead You should have fabricated a metal cage of 18 guage angle iron for this. This will fall with low high voltage fluctuations caused vibrations of fan and compressor
You could have installed it with a bar support sideways from below the unit or make a frame that gets screwed in side walls. This is dangerous as the only support is in front.

Window AC should be installed only at window level as window AC cools only up to window level. It has intake on one side and output on the other side. While in split AC, air exits from the lower side and air enters from the upper side. Yes window AC is cheaper in operating. But the result will be seen only at the window level (2 to 2.5 feet above).
