The loudest show I ever saw was the Cult. It was in Honolulu around 1994 and my ears are still ringing.

Morrison's peace frog becomes a peace dog. A much fiercer beast than the gentle amphibian of Jim's ramblings.

Yes they was and still cool in their time of apice, for sure. I saw Ian with The Doors and of corse with The Cult too. With the Doors he did a great job too and The Cult nowadays will never be forgotten. Because they put a line in the time and it will never be erased.

At this stage of their career, the best Led Zep meets AC/DC copyists ever. Brilliant stuff. Electric is a gem of an album but Love is The Cult at the top of their game.

Robert Plant used to start out Stairway to Heaven by saying "This is a song of hope."
I think this is a song of hope boiled down to its id itself. Beautiful.

@cmatthewsable they are all over the place, festivals are an amazing thing these days with a ridiculous variety of styles from folk to dubstep and anywhere in between, White Stripes are one of the best commercially successful that I can think of as far as straight up rock goes but then there's alot more out there too

I even seem to recall an interview from back in the day, where they pretty much said that this whole album was an hommage to THEIR idols. That doesn't have to be a bad thing, as you pointed out.

If you ever heard Danzig by Danzig, which Rubin also produced, in 1988, the AC/DC riffs were in there as well. I think Rubin was a fan of Mutt Lange, who produced AC/DC' Highway to Hell, Back in Black and For Those About to Rock albums.

Whenever I listen to good ole rock n roll makes me really miss it. hate the crap rap they keep playing over and over and over on the radio. Nowadays just because it's overplayed on the radio makes it good. Wrong! Feel sorry for teenagers nowadays.

    AC/DC ?
I just don't see it, and I play lots of AC/DC and Cult with my band...so I know the progessions inside out.
It's kinda like when people tried to say Led Zep was ripping off Black Sabbath...ridiculous but non-musicians have wild speculations.

Imagine how many times he's had to sing the same songs over and over night after night. There's going to be those times when you're just not going to be in the mood. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Some song I wrote when I was a kid and my whole character is judged on these damn songs. I think I'm a little more than this. Man, I just want to be at home right now."

The way Ian sings cannot be held up for a tour. He is better in a controlled environment. Great song. Wish I could have seen live but may have tainted my love for the band (like Ratt, who SUCK live, but love studio stuff) some bands write things that don't transition well for long term live shows) still, will never give them up.
