    I've watched literally hundreds of photography-related videos - product reviews, tutorials, technical instruction - and this is by far one of my very favorites. Not only is it IMO the best and most comprehensive and practical review I've seen of the X100T, it's a terrific primer on street photography and street portraiture. The segment with the impromptu portrait shoot of the children and their grandparents is just wonderful. I think it really captures the essence of what it is to be a portrait photographer - the ability to build rapport and trust with your subjects and create from that a really amazing and memorable experience is the what we all strive for.

    A thousand and one videos on the X100t, but this is the one that convinced me to buy it. I don't care where technology goes now, I think I always be happy. Thanks

    Great video Bert. You say you find it hard to approach strangers but that was a wonderful interaction with the children and their grandparents - a delight to watch. Also very interesting on the upgrades to the X100 series. More please.

    Five years on the X100T is still a great camera and today sells for about 70% of its original price, much better than its peers. The X100F has a greater resolution and a few more features but the X100T is still very good and more than enough for most folks. Even the original X100, still an excellent camera, sells for about half of its original price.

    Best review on TH-cam. Went through everything in an entertaining way. Loved the part with the family. Very genuine and also showing the instax printer.

    I never comment on a camera review, but this video is just one of a kind. Not just in photography point of view but the social part of being a street photographer is really sweet to see.

    That was amazing how you got complete strangers so comfortable and laughing for some great pictures. That's some real pro stuff right there - not just photography skills, but social skills as well. I'm eagerly waiting for Fuji to release X100F next month, so I can pick up the X100T for bargain price.

    Sehr sympathisch, wie Du mit den Kindern und ihren Großeltern agierst, um Streetportraits zu bekommen. Und der Sofortbilddrucker ist dabei natürlich Gold wert.

    Thank you. This is a great review and the quality of the filming, sound recording and editing is excellent. You say you find it difficult to ask strangers if you can photograph them but you have a very nice and genuine way about you that makes seem easy and natural - you really gave the grandparents and children some fun and enjoyment and a moment they will remember.. You also take fantastic images.

    Thank you Bret this is the best review. I haven't seen you since you confession of a photographer series and to be honest I had forgotten about you maybe for couple of years. And now bang, you have reminded me about yourself. I hope you continue doing videos, but perhaps not only reviews, but maybe more photography and the Fuji X100T in my opinion is the perfect reason to start a new series of the confession of the photographer. All the best, and I am waiting for your new photography series.

    Absolutely amazing video, there is no better demonstration of the Fuji X100T out there. You show the camera in its natural habitat: With people out there. The way you interact with them (and at other times choose not to interact with them) is fabulous! THAT is the art of people photography and the Fuji X100T shows what it is in this video: The PERFECT tool for this job. Very inspiring video. I'd say this is the best video on photography in general that I have ever watched.
    ( Thank you for pointing me towards the tele converter and the printer as well, very handy.)

    Bert, thank you so much. That was one of the most informative and entertaining reviews I have seen in my too many years watching you tube to hunt for my next camera. I watched this to help me decide whether to upgrade from the X100s. Not only has it convinced me of that but also of the merits of the two converters and the Instax printer. Unfortunately it's good bye to a few pieces of Leica film gear to fund.
    Thanks again!

    Ordered one. My X100S will stay in the family and go to my teen-age daughter (who loves it as much as me). Still not ready to give up my full frame gear for a Fujifilm X system (sports shooting), but this particular camera is an amazing addition for an everyday camera. It's such a joy to use. Looking forward to the subtle improvements of the X100T.

    Found you channel because of the Fujis, i am a Landscape Photographer from Germany, not so far from Brussels, and i am definitely will go more Street Photographie now. I use to go with my big DSLR on the streets, but the amount and clunky stuff you have to take with you put me of so i stopped it completely. Now i just bought me a X30 (what a beauty), and i find it a great little camera with great image quality. Maybe next year, after my Fototour to the scottish Highland i might check out the xpro or xe2, i am feeling that could be a gear change for me away from the DSLR to the Fuji System Cams. Keep up your good work Bert, looking forward for more footage videos. I planning to do the same with my little action cam, just need to find a mount to fix it on the x30.

    Great review and streetshots. Just bought one yesterday for my streetphotography, to replace my Fuji X10 that was stolen a few months back.
    I did streetphotography with nearly every kind of equipment from the Yashica matt 6x6, over the Nikon F2 with 400mm to the leica M3. I started streetphotography at an early age with a Diana camera in Romania on holiday. (the camera got smashed by military ...). I needed to restrict myself to a fixed lens, because I am a bit of a 'zoom-fanatic'.

    Great review, thanks, and that Instax printer is a brilliant idea. First time I've seen a video where it's been used with the X100, and the same goes for the teleconverter. This is something I sometimes missed on my X100S - the ability to have a longer focal length for defocusing the background. Last thing: you're a natural when you interact with people, have more confidence in yourself, I think you're doing great. People seem very at ease with you, more so than the majority of other pros I've seen on youtube.

    Hey Bert. I really enjoyed watching your video. I thought you were awesome with the kids. They all seemed so comfortable with you. I do street photography also and I picked up some really good things from watching you. I just sold all off all my dslr gear and went to the Fuji XT1. I loved my X100 and now I have and love my X100s but I have been thinking about selling my X100s also since I got the XT1. Now after watching your video I'm thinking on adding the X100T to my collection. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the information you shared. I'm really hoping to see some more street photography tips in your future videos.

    • @einfussganger
      @einfussganger 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Read your comment. I carry a XT1 with 56mm f/1.2 and x100S as a two-camera street kit. Both fit easily in a small bag and I find it easier to grab a different camera than swap lenses. I do wish Fujifilm would make their user-interface (button layout) consistent for those who own multiple cameras. Especially on the XT-1, where finding buttons by feel is nearly impossible (due to the flat/flush styling).

    • @DickieBennett
      @DickieBennett 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      einfussganger Thanks for your reply. Yes that sounds like an ideal combination. I agree, the buttons on the xt1 can be a little challenging. Having quite a few of them being programmable helps me though. When you shoot on the street how do you ever use the face detection or pre focus option on the xt1. Just curious how you set up your camera. I tried changing the size of the focus point but I had a little trouble with focus seeking if I made it to small. I have only had my xt1 for a week now so any tips on the xt1 you have figured out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Awesome review and incredible street shots. WOW that portable printer is very cool. I want one of those. What is it?How cool to give those kids/grandparents their shot as a Polaroid right after taking their pix. A lot of folks really miss that instant pix you can hold in your hand. My grandpa used to LOVE taking pix of people with his Polaroid camera. Expensive as heck film though but a lot of fun. Please advise. thanks.
