Which kind of restrictions does Blackwing have? Are you locked on DARK Monsters only or something? Do you think the Bystial package (especially Branded Regained) adds something to the deck or is it totally unneeded?
Yes. Simoon and Vata lock your Extra Deck into DARK only, for the rest of the turn, after their effects. Sudri's Tuner token effect can lock you into Synchro. In my humble opinion, with the consistency issues Blackwing sometimes has, Bystials may hinder it a bit by making it less consistent. Branded Synchro may be a better choice for Bystials + Synchro. Black Feather Whirlwind makes good use of the banished monsters, so Regained may be an extra, here. It may depend on how "big" the Bystial package is, though. Overall, the deck needs to lose some dependency on Simoon before it can try on new paths (IMO).
I love Blackwings and this looks like a really good decklist, I’ll have to try it myself. I didn’t even think that Dis pater works with the Blackwings but you’ve shown otherwise. Awesome duels too 😊
Thank you! I use both, but in different decks. I use Assault Synchron for the Synchro (w/ Chaos Angel) variant as its effect may come in clutch or bridge with Maxx C. Then, I use Weeping Idol in the Kali Yuga variant where I may just need an extra body for Link summoning, or bridge with Ash. Also, I always carry a second bridge (the Kaiju) so if one bridge slips to the hand I can still use Small World (for Simoon, mainly). So far, they have worked for me, in their respective decklists. Blackwing is one field spell support away from OP. Imagine getting a modern field spell that searches a blackwing monster or a card that mentions Black winged dragon at activation and can pop opponent's cards under some condition. ☺☺
I fully agree to this. 1 card that worked like Perlereino/Wraitsoth, or ROTA, would remove the dependency on Small World and it's bridges, and it may even allow to run less 3-ofs. A non-HardOncePerTurn field would synergize with Zephyros, too. Another thing that I think could help is a BW that worked like Despian Tragedy, so you may benefit from effects like Simoon's banish, Vata's pitch, or simply Foolish Burial/Gold Sarc. But, let's see when Konami decides to bless us with new (useful) support.
