Thank you for uploading this video tutorial. It has allowed us to adjust our cartridge on our own to get steady hot water flow without having to spend $200 for calling in a plumber. I think our shower faucet got better flow as well. Thanks again :)

Thank you for sharing the method of restoring hot water to my shower. Your video was more helpful than the Pfister version.

Thank you SO MUCH!!!! The mystery of what's behind the handle is now revealed - and the part I can get at home depot tonight--- I now see how that possibly could fit. I really appreciate you posting this!

I had to log in and say thanks. I replaced my cartridge a few days ago but for some reason it was still only getting luke warm. I've replaced a few of these in the 18 years in our home but never encountered something like that. I was getting ready to call a plumber, but saw your video, especially the part at 3:35 where you adjusted the temperature. That did the trick! Surprising that it came adjusted like that, but lesson learned. Thanks again!

Thank you for this! It was very helpful as we replaced our stem valve. Loved the paper plate idea, and very grateful to know about how to use the Price-Pfister lifetime warranty. Thank you!!!

This was an excellent video, thank you for being so thorough. It gave me the courage to attempt it on my own with satisfactory results. Great idea on diverting the remaining water with a plate (2:49) so the water wouldn't end up behind the wall. Only additional info would be for us newbies to pay attention to the threaded collar at 2:08 and remember which side goes towards the wall. It would be the end with the raised bump (I forgot and had to reinstall). This bump holds the face plate to the wall. Also, there is a one piece cartridge and a two piece cartridge. My shower used the two piece setup but everything was pretty similar. Thank you.

Just to correct, it is all the way clockwise to close, not counter-clockwise.
    Thanks for the video.

Nice helpful video. Will have to check mine for same look. Great to know Price Pfister has a life time warranty. Will call after view my shower. Don't know what model I purchased but hope they all use same valve. Won't bother cleaning since I feel mine is full of lime etc. Thanks again for this video which now saves me plumber and worries it was my hot water tank. Never knew these work this way.

These faucets are junk. Do yourself a favor and just buy a Moen or other quality faucet. I had the same shower installed in my new home, I have city water and in just over 2 years I have lost all pressure 3 times. Usually after a couple weeks (while waiting on plumbers to repair under warranty) it will correct itself. I had a spare cartridge for the 3rd instance and it didn't fix the issue. Had similar problem with the kitchen faucet and had to replace it after the cartridge didn't correct the issue. Pfister is junk

I cut the bottom out of a disposable plastic cup to put over the shower valve. It's a little easier to keep in place than a paper plate.

A couple of snags, but very helpful, and I thank you for taking the time to post this!
    1. The plumbers cut a hole in the shower that was just wide enough for the valve. No room for a water-catcher plate or cup. That same tight hole made for interesting screw removal. Use a magnetic screwdriver! To prevent a flood, I just opened the valve in the sink, as well as the shower valve, and all the water drained out to the lower of the two faucets. So the shower valve was empty when I cracked it open. (whew!)
    2. I failed to notice that one of the two o-rings on the back of old valve stayed in the housing. After reassembly with the new cartridge, the water would not shut off. Only when I had given up on the new one, and started to clean the old one did I notice there was only one o-ring in the back. Another dis-assembly, and proper re-assembly fixed it. (another whew!)

Price Pfister is far from perfect, but I've had trouble with Moen and other brands. None lasts really long - the cartridges get stiff and difficult to use after about 1-1/2 - 2 years, depending on water hardness.
