I remember when I took my brother out to see this underrated film in theaters and the opening intro started playing. The entire auditorium shook underneath us like an earthquake. Epic score for a film which I award 4/4 stars. Humanity needs to wake up!
While it's certainly no District 9, I never understood why so many people trashed this film. I always thought it was a great SF action film. Beautifully shot, great special effects, and a fantastic score. Blomkamp would have made a great sequel to Aliens until Ridley shut it down. Blomkamp is busy working on his Oats Studios projects, but I hope he somehow manages to bring us District 10 in the near future.
A beautifull film stunningly shot and well acted, despite what some people think. An excellent soundtrack too from a relative newcomer in the soundtrack genre. Thumbs up all round !
Same here, once the last 1/3 of the film started I could tell everything that was going to happen - but it was filmed and edited brilliantly making the execution perfect. I loved the ending even if it I could see it coming from a mile of
All those people who are left behind in life at the hands of fate and misfortune and ill-health and also exploited by others must be helped and saved by Gods. Elysium is a beautiful and tragic movie.
i dont know how i just watched this movie yesterday, its like a movie was made for me, Neill Blomkamp is right with Ridley Scott and John Carpenter as my favorite directors, Neill we really need more 10/10 sci fi movies like this, always great storytelling and the aesthetic of all of your films are amazing, District 9 and Chappie are two of my favorites of all time, the humanity needs that cancelled Alien film by you AND THIS FUCKING SOUNDTRACK ROCKS
The lesson from the movie is that even though there are enough resources to help vast populations, the "1%" chooses to only do what is in their best interest (Oligarchy) in the sacrifice of millions, just like what is happening to the United States now. Eventually the Oligarchy system will crash (just like Greece before their Dark Age) and could either end with the 99% gaining back what the 1% had control over to create equality, or chaos leading to a Dark Age (a time that historians loose site of documented info due to a lack of actual written reports). So ladies and Gentlemen this is just my opinion (I'm not a professional or expert), but I think we could hit either of the two conclusions very soon at this point soon being like 5-15 years from now. Who knows? I don't know, but I thought this would be interesting to post to those who like politics, history, and movies :P
Interesting point. Ive been taking economics classes since sophomore year of HS and I have heard things like this from other students but the teachers always have had a very good argument against this, I wish I remembered! Here in the US at least, I dont think something like that will happen any time soon, no matter how much propoganda youll hear about income inequality, youll find that in this free market we work and live under, you have all kinds of opportunities and no one actually keeps you down. In the US, the rich (most of them) employ alot of people, creating opportunity for more people to work, spreading the wealth. On the other hand, look at a place like china, something like 800 million people there live on less than $5 dollars a day! Keep in mind, they are farmers mostly, so food isnt really a problem for them, but they cant afford to buy nice things, and they cant afford to get out of where they are! This huge population of farmers busts their asses to provide for the 10% that live in the big cities. This is where income inequality is a problem in a way, but there are alot of arguments that can go in many directions.
You are advocating for communism which killed over 200 million people last century. The west created all technology and has prevented billions of deaths. Only some people create, the rest just leech.
I think so movie is WARNING, elysium is in 2175? but as you say, I thnik we destroy our planet mutch faster, peoples arent able change, there is no way avoid this, what happened in Elysium, its started a long time ago, its just question of time

The best sci-fi movie opening sound ever!!!!
agreed
I was happy when Spyder took over Elysium. Thank You Spyder.
I bought this movie on cable/xfinity, I watch it almost every night.

Get ready for district 9 sequel, folks
It's way better than district 9. Long Live the Permanent Revolution (Bronsteinist-Workerist) from South Africa to Nigeria and beyond.
It's cinematic masterpice, we should have more movies like this one. Music is epic!
Into another world I can imagine.... Masterpiece..

You're pretty right homie.
Epic music. Movie 11/10 the ending always make me cry even if im 32 y old men :)
all the song iis the best, but my personal favourite part is 2:09, where the violin starts
MAXXXXX
Intro very very powerful
Loved hearing this while seeing the TriStar logo for the first time since 1998's _The Mask of Zorro._
Same here, once the last 1/3 of the film started I could tell everything that was going to happen - but it was filmed and edited brilliantly making the execution perfect. I loved the ending even if it I could see it coming from a mile of
00:53 the sound I hear when my wife walks in.
+GTwo LOL
Bwahaahahaha!

HAHAHAHAHA
Laughed so hard that i can swear there was for a second a rift in the space time continuum xD
i'm still waiting for district 9 part 2
Kenneth john and now I'm also waiting for Chappie 2 :)
Also waiting for Elysium 2 :D
So basically, we're all waiting for sequels to all of Blomkamp's films haha
His movies always end like this and 2nd parts don't come out.
I know, i hope for a district 10 too, but there's no hope.
Cómo me causa nostalgia está música. Recuerdos de la niñez 😢
Outstanding masterpiece of electronic and orchestral instruments fusion in a perfect equilibrium... a work of art...
I love that chilly violin
Underrated movie
The movie was good, the soundtrack is great. It's top-notch weird sci-fi music. The violin @ 2: really makes it outstanding.
after 10 years i am here for 1:06 to 1:56 , just loved the way it is and the goosebumps
Greetings from France. PeAcE&LoVe :)
Amazing film, loved it :)
這是一部非常棒的電影!

Elysium is a beautiful and tragic movie.
Pena não ter essa música no Instagram
The most attractive thing in this movie is that the earth, the poor land was filmed in my country, especially in my state.
I like to imagine heaven sounds like this.

Does anyone know the song where Max and Spider are stealing the information out of Carlyle's head while Kruger is coming for them?
Masterpiece !
03:00 wonderfull
The movie was whatever but it had a good style
Как пишут, это музыка в этереал стиле, подвид дарквэйва, готический рок с пименением новейших электронных инструментов.
1:18 plus.. best part
Dam yrs ago..thank you
Those riffs sound like they come from the 22nd century.
why exactly does it keep saying prowler in the video?
Fun Fact: The guy who plays agent Kruger is the same guy in District9. There he was the hero and here the asshole :D
This movie's concept would make great for a an open world videogame, s.t.a.l.k.e.r. like, but without monsters
HBO series mate.
What do mean "prowler"? Tell me please!
That's the name of the guy that made the original video
To 'prowl' means to sneak about unnoticed. Usually with bad intent.
Thats why a hunting predator is often described as 'being on the prowl'
the new wave of power and wealth will be like this and we'll be like battle angel and living in the filth...
Yup and it will all be under the guise of “equity”
Música en MAYÚSCULAS....!!
+marco gonzalez wikus, eres tú? .-.

Quien no quisiera vivir ahi arriba
I fail to comprehend why there were so many plotholes.
