Despite my earlier negative comments I will say that I welcome this type of show on TH-cam. It gives modellers an opportunity to interact with the company and allows REVELL to learn and grow from this.
very good first show. I'm an auto modeler mainly and have thouroughly enjoyed your latest car releases (the Foose cars are excellent detail and fitment!). I have a question: I am building an older kit the SIMBA 6x6 airport firetruck. the wheels are deformed and the decal sheet is not useable. is it possible to obtain these and if so, how? thanks again for a fun video and am subscribed.
Was really excited to see Revell finally announce a release of a type IX sub in 1/144. Was frustrating that the release dates kept being pushed back over the last few years, hopefully us submarine enthusiasts won't have to wait too much longer! Must admit though, from looking at the product result, it seems to be lacking A LOT of rivet details (with exception to only a few on the conning tower) which is a bit disappointing when you consider that the 1/72 version of this exact kit (and all the other variants) includes hull rivets, even the older 1/144 scale kits of types VII C, VII C/41 and VII D that released from as far back as 2007 included all the hull rivets, even. Why are there none on this kit?
Revell could help their relationship with modelers by simply getting rid of those flimsy side opening boxes. That, and adding the word "classic" to their old kits (like Airfix does).
I hope Revell decides to make a 1/25 scale 1970 Mustang. It is a missing link in Revell's great Mustang lineup. Also Revell has the Pro Stock drag racing Mid Eighties Camaro molds, they should do a 78 Camaro Pro Stock body and glass to use with the existing molds for a great race car series. There were many different teams in that era so to have great choices to build.
Schade. Meine Erwartungen wurden nicht erfüllt.
One of my favorite brands, not bad for a first show. I hope you will continue and improve. IMO one video a month may not be enough to keep people interested... Cheers from Portugal!
For UK consumption, BBC has priduced a new serial based on the exploits of the SAS and LRDG which us very popular, a re-releae of the old Matchbox LRDGset would have sold a ton.
I have a question, for American modelers Revell has a special place in history. What is the structure of Revell now? Is it two separate entities (USA AND EU)? Is it all one company? Can you please clear my confusion? Also how come its more difficult to get "EU" kits in the US? Looking at Carrera-Revell, its the same 30 odd car kits that have been around for years.
Thanks for the update! I always find your version of the models interesting before someone adds all the third-party parts. This is the painted out-of-the-box build, and they look so good.
I'm seeing some old and new products here; the Pod Racer for some reason reminds me not only of a chariot but the yellow pieces attached to the jet engines remind me of a WW1 biplane. Apart from one of the Tornado canopies not fitting properly the 747 could probably use some extra weight in the nose as the front seems to be lifting.
I’ve been building REVELL MODELS since 1970… The kits manufactured in CALIFORNIA…. Still collect and build the VINTAGE KITS… I do like the REVELL GERMANY 1/72 AIRCRAFT, and the MATCHBOX/ REVELL 1/76 ARMOR REPOPS………. should I Subscribe ??????? You have my like 👍 CHRIS from OHIO 🇺🇸
The concept is good. I enjoyed your video, but naturally some will point out issues and others want to vent their frustrations. Then there are the other 9,040 people who watched the video. I think clearly there is an appetite for Revell to present new kits, special editions, and discuss product. I look forward to August. I'd also like to join a few others in making some requests: Revell had a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8, and still produces a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a hood scoop. Please re-release the 2009 SRT8 and 1970 Challenger with the stock hood. For moderate investment in changes, I think Revell could also make a 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger SRT392 and a 1971 Dodge Challenger 392 and 426 Hemi. With new regulations killing off all muscle cars (in fact all internal combustion engines), they should be popular. No company -- even resin makers -- has or ever made a 1971 Challenger with very distinctive grill and side vents, or 2015+ Challenger updated grill and factory hood options for SRT392 and Hellcat. Thanks
I’m dismayed that Revel hasn’t produced the F-35 in any variant, any scale. The F-35C version in particular should be offered in a lower cost Revel version, for those not interested in dropped flaps, etc. I can’t remember a U.S. Navy front line fleet defense fighter that wasn’t offered in both 1/72 & 1/48th scale by this company. Today, the $60+ manufacturers are the only game in town. Meng,, Hobby Boss and Orange Model all offer good kits, but it’s a waste of money (and parts/complexity) for those modeling inflight, canopy closed and without dropped flaps… I’ve always considered it a wasted opportunity to not take advantage of dropped flaps & folded wings where offered on Naval aircraft kits. When modeling inflight, a reasonably priced/less over engendered Revel kit is a great option. Phantom, Tomcat, Hornet & SuperHornets but no F-35C? Why?
I for one, would love to see a re release of the "Battle of Midway" aircraft carrier model, that allows you to build any one of the three Yorktown class aircraft carriers.
So now when is the new sub being released, I payed for it in February looking forward to it, also a big thanks to revell for sending me some decals all the way from Germany how thay got my address I'll never know, great team 👍👍.
Have to say that I am disappointed in Revellogram not doing the U505 in 1/144 scale. The most famous Uboat in the museum of Chicago and it is still overlooked. Even though I have an old Monogram kit of the U505 what is it with these folks at Revellogram. It's not as though you can't access the submarine since it's on public display to do a model of it. Maybe before I die Revellogram will get around to doing the U505 in 1/144 scale, but by then I will be too old to put one together.
Why don’t you stop mailing weird scales kits and stick to the “standard” ones? Having lots of models from a given series in different scales puts modellers off.
Did it ever occur to you, that there's many model builders who are adept at creating kits and don't mind building in different scales... Also, there are many disabled builders that are limited in building in just one scale... Is it unfair that they should be denied?
I make car models and it really annoys and disappoints me that some are 24th scale while others are 25th scale. The latter is smaller so having the same car in different scale just doesn’t display very well together.
@@snoopychrysler I wasn't going to bite, but I think you've missed my point. Its not about how good a modeller you might be, its about having 2 models that are from the same universe (cars, sci-fi, military vehicles) and when you come to put them on your shelf, they are in different scales. Suppose I wanted to create a diorama for instance, and the models (car, plane space ship) I want are only available in different scales? Then They wouldn't "go well" together. The reason I brought this up in this video is that there is a 1/120 Darth Maul Infiltrator and a 1/31 Anakin's podracer. Why 1/120th? why not 1/72 or 1/144? and as for 1/31? why that couldn't have been scaled to 1/32 is beyond me...
Look forward to these moving forward - please think about moving to a more professionally looking presentation (like Round 2) - 'broom cupboards' are a no no....
Hey guys, it's terribly disappointing how you treated the F-16 and Tornado's 50th anniversary. Very nice paint schemes were available and you chose, completely incomprehensibly, D-day for the F-16 and some old models for the Tornado.
I wonder is one of the reasons Luke left Airfix earlier this year is because deep down inside he too was secretly hacked off with the amount of spitfires from Airfix.?
To me Revell are great for their older classic hot rod stuff in the 1970's but they didn't really improve on fit and their dimensioning and proportion seems off scale. For example, if you compare their LaFerrari to Tamiyas you'll notice right away the body is way off on its lines. Yes Tamiya is way more expensive but the kit is bang on for fit, look and features. Revell don't have the money to raise their tooling quality so their parts are very soft looking and detail is very obscure!
If you’re going to show pictures of new kits,at least make sure the kits look well made. The first picture in the video shows the twin pack Tornado’s and the canopy not sitting right.
Not a rivet counter, he’s pointing out that the cockpit isn’t fitted properly in the photo. That’s unprofessional by the photographer and by the company for not correcting it.

I bought a Revell 1966 Chevy Malibu SS 2 in 1 kit a few weeks ago. I bought the kit only because the box art showed two different versions, both with raised white lettered BF Goodrich T/A radial tires, wide rears, narrower front tires. The kit only contained 4 stock plain black tires, no BF Goodrich tires. I emailed Revell and asked if there was a mistake made, and was coldly told that there was nothing they could do. I returned the kit to Hobby Lobby and received a refund. I won’t be buying Revell again, as I feel that it was deceptive advertising and poor customer service on their part, very disappointing.
Very poor range of kits this year, it seems Revell are now more busy with toys and remote control vehucles, even puzzles. All of the latter being wider range and cheaper from China! I would love to see revell re-tool its old kits to bring them into this century.

So many old toolings qe need to see again. Merlin, Sea King, Halifax, NH90... Stop with these anniversary boxings and single scheme releases.
Met someone from the REVELL marketing team in Telford last year and he was fairly candid about the poor quality and reputation of the brand. Personally I won’t purchase REVELL kits anymore after some disappointing kit builds. Really poor fit and engineering.
