I think this is the best GoPro Hero 5 footage on TH-cam - it's great to get murky, real world conditions for once rather than the usual bright Bali stuff and enables one to get a better feeling of the capabilities of the camera. Thanks for posting
So you were using the grip. Was it gyroed? Did you use in camera stabilization? Looks good! How much better could you see than the camera in the dark scenes--well, they were all pretty dark. Looking good though.
I used the Karma Grip on the chest! If you want smooth helmet footage, film in 4K and render down to HD and do a digital stabilisation in post production!

Excellent night video from London. GoPro the best !!!
I love how well it records in low light. Seems much better than my GP H4B!
Really? I was kind of disappointed... Maybe a true selling point then
I miss London what a great city!
Awesome vid
what kind of setting do you use when shooting in low light like that.
I suppose he would have set it in protune on, color: Flat, White Balance: 4000 maybe, iso: around 800 or 1200 i think
how is the karma attached please?
I wanted to ask you the same question LAtechniker
To my chest, with a normal gopro mount
To my chest, with a normal gopro mount
what is a chest
means only using stabilization on hero 5 ? not without gimbal ?

There is no digital stabilisation of the GoPro itself. Yes its the karma grip making it smooth, but the images are not level.
Well, at 4k you can correct that in post.
Yes if I exported in 1080. But i exported in 4K.
Nice video. What were the settings?
dvdragon 4K, 30fps. I imported straight to FCPX and exported with no further editing than cuts.
I shoot at night with mine and the footage is very grainy what are your settings if don't mind me asking great video
Of course I don't mind I just selected 4K 30fps and did no post production. Maybe you need more light to shoot in the dark?
what setting do you use for night please
none. it automatically adjusts.
Hey man, did you use a head mount at some point or just the karma grip?
if you used the head mount, how did you make it so stable?

o ok, great! thanks for the advice
hey man, nice test of your hero5 & gimbal! any way to get in touch with you? Mail? Cheers
Drop me a line at ue5901@icloud.com or a youtube message :)
hello, im just wondering what video editing software did you edit this with?
Hey :) Final Cut Pro X!
thanks!
which FOV is this? Wide?
Yes exactly!
You should try superview, I feel it's more cinematic
I use it as dashcam on my bike and S is too distorted imo. But definitely good to have
You can un-distort the image in post, should look great then
Nice video! Just one question: What settings did you use? I read below 4K 30FPS. What about colour? GO PRO or Flat? Iso? Many thanks!
Gopro and auto ISO. The standard settings :)
