Happy to have been able to get this one live. My back is getting better but still tweeked. Hope to get several more out in the near future. Enjoy and have a great day! Get out there and explore!
As you may know, we had to cut it short due to me injuring my back. We did make it through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Washington a bit, and Oregon before heading home. We had intended to do the whole Oregon and California coast. Oh well, next time.
Hi, Scott & Heather. Your camper looks like a winner. That lake is beautiful. What a nice experience. I'm looking forward to the rest of your trip. Thanks. *TYU*
Hello Scott and Heather, Great looking camper, I’ll be interested to see how it works out over the course of time… Fairy Lake is beautiful, what a great place to get away from the world. I’m sure the two of you will work out the “bugs” in time, like you’d mentioned a lot of firsts for the both of you… Scott take care of that back. Safe travels
Lots of good ideas tossing around as to how to make the camper more useful and comfortable. Back is slowly improving. Being really cafeful. Stay tuned, Hugh!
Great video! Love the truck and GFC setup. I have a similar truck. One thing that is a lifesaver is a retractable bumper step. Not sure how I ever did without it.
I can’t believe how emotional I got watching the install as well as the initial presentation of the new baby! BTW - The scenic trip on the way really emphasized why the heck “we” are going through all this.
We just don't know how much time we have to enjoy these places. Things change on a dime...with regard to climate, with regard to regulation and access, with regard to cost of travel and so on.
Really enjoyed this road-trip (including the all-important ice cream stops 🤗) and beautiful countryside along the way. Your new rig looks great and will become a common fixture as you both learn about its capabilities and expand its possibilities. Beautiful Fairy Lake…could stay there for days! Take care always.
Great trip out to the install. What amazing scenery along the way. Simple, but elegant pop top camping shell for your Ram. I see amazing expeditions are in the future for you two. Great shakedown camping trip as well. Beautiful lake. Thanks 4 sharing the Expedition with us 😉
So happy to see this episode! My son wanted one of these but is having trouble contacting them. Heard they werent still selling them . Think he should go and see for him self.i like those inside entries,I cant do ladders anymore.now you need paddleboards!
Hmm... they have tons in production. Let me know if he needs a contact there. Note, if you look in the back of the truck on the passenger side, you will see a huge gray bag which contains an inflatable paddleboard! :-)
Those Mavs are cool. I had a buddy in college that had an original Maverick. It was army green. The shifter was on the steering column and the end of the shifter he had a skateboard wheel with ball bearings so it would spin. He had taken the front passenger seat out so when I rode around with him I had to sit in the back seat on the passenger side. The license plate said "BAD MAV".
New adventure with a Go Fast Neat concept What is a cost? Awhile back didn’t you fit the Ram with another model of camper? I need to inquire if they can do one for a Honda Ridgeline Or maybe I will do just in the truck box tent and go see the sites. Just me Dillion MT. Did a job interview there back in 1996? Beautiful area train town Camped there as well Great video sound music. You do the best!
Hi there Dave! I have a full review video coming out on Sunday morning of our experience with the Go Fast Camper. Be sure to watch that one when it comes out. Releases at 8AM MST. Answer most of your questions about this product. Thanks for watching!
@@4XPEDITION will do Scott. Bad deal on the back issue. Thankful you have a beautiful partner to be part of the team and to lean on and help. Heather is a beautiful spouse.
Ha!! I do love those. If you noticed over my shoulder in the back of the truck there is a tall gray bag on the right. That is my inflatable SUP. Love that thing, but there is definitely a place for good, sturdy folding kayaks.
Really enjoyed. Some beautiful shots there y'all. I'll be curious to know if your camper sweats on the inside. Had a friend that had one like it and he said there was mornings he had to hang his bedding out to dry cause it dripped all night from the heat (?) and humidity (?) of him sleeping (?).:-) See y'all on the next one.
Thanks, Richard. Yes, ours has the same issue. I will be working on mitigating that issue as much as possible. This rooftop tent seems so far to be way worse than my iKamper RTT was so I think I can make a number of improvements with regard to that.
Hi. Actually, it was an Overland Explorer Camp X. If you watch my Go Fast Camper Full Review video I just put up last weekend you will get the full scoop as to what happened with it. th-cam.com/video/acvZ415s_yM/w-d-xo.html
Well, like most rooftop tents I have owned, the included mattress really isn't ideal. I think we will do the same as I did with my iKamper and that is to remove all factory mattresses, carpet the floor and then just use our Exped mattresses. (Removing the mattresses opens up several more inches of height inside to leave all our sleeping system inside and even our telescoping ladder. I will do an episode on that down the road.
Seems funny that this was your first actual camping trip together but you surely have had other things on your mind, and your plate. I haven't followed your channel before you began the cabin series but I'm seeing a video from 2 years ago (in the suggested videos) with another camper setup similar to this one you just bought. How do you feel they compare? I hope you're both really pleased with the purchase over all. I'm glad your back is on the mend, too. Looking forward to the rest of your trip! ~ Cheryl
Yes, it is strange. We both spent a great deal of time solo adventuring. I have probably 80 videos of me solo adventuring on the channel. The last camper was much more robust. Had a kitchen, toilet, queen bed, sectional couch, heat and so on. It was pretty light weight for what it was, but it was heavy for my particular truck. So, it was much more comfortable than what we have now, but what we have now makes more sense for what we intend to do with it. The last one was going to be my living quarters for when I purchased the cabin. Instead, I sold it and bought a Sprinter RV which proved to be the right decision. Thanks for checking in, Cheryl!
@@4XPEDITION Oh, I meant the video showing another foldable instant tent, similar to what you just got in Montana. That couldn't have had all those things in it ! 🤣 The thumbnail for that video shows a truck with something that looks a lot like what you now have. It says it's 2 years old.
LOL. You must have missed about 2 years of episodes! No worries, though. Yes. I sold it to my son. He has the whole setup. You should watch my Pursuit of Cabin Living Series from the beginning. You can learn about that more.
Also, I never recommend a two person bag to anyone who will be camping in the cold at all. Our 20 degree northface double really only provides comfort to 50ish degrees, where our single 20 degree quilts are good to that or colder. A lot more space in that bag for even two bodies to warm up. Cheers!
So far we are good with the Kelty we bought. I understand your thinking on it though, loft bags are best used when wrapped around your individual body. The one we bought is called a Kelty Tru Comfort 20. It has a number of features that I found to be great features to mitigate heat loss per person. For instance, it has an internal layer for each sleeper and a loft collar. Check it out here. amzn.to/3RafQGJ
Love you both but i cannot say the same for the GFC camper and the faaaaast talking salesman the demonstrated the features once it was loaded onto yalls truck. Nonetheless- blessing to you both, lots of smiles and much love! Cya!
Hi Rick. Yes. About 2 years ago. I needed to sell at the time unfortunately for financial reasons... to be honest, it was a bit heavy for my RAM 1500 when it came to backcountry travel. Good camper. I ended up then purchasing a used Sprinter camper that I used here on my property while I was remodeling my cabin.
Happy to have been able to get this one live. My back is getting better but still tweeked. Hope to get several more out in the near future. Enjoy and have a great day! Get out there and explore!
“Welcome home honey! KISS” Awwww
:-)
The whole trip must of been great. Driving through all those picturesque states!

Gonna do a comparison between this and the camper you had on there before? That might be some good content even if it's just a five minute video.
Yes. I am going to do that one and just a full review of the GFC on it's own. Thanks Shovel!

Fair enough. Do you have prior experience with those gents?
what happened to the beautiful Camp-x slide in ?
Hi there. I decided it was too heavy for the kind of offroad driving I wanted to do.
Hi Scott, Did you sell your Camp-x pop up?
Hi Rick. Yes. About 2 years ago. I needed to sell at the time unfortunately for financial reasons... to be honest, it was a bit heavy for my RAM 1500 when it came to backcountry travel. Good camper. Awesome camper. I got unsubscribed...??!! Timmy C Arizona
Wasn’t me! Glad you are back!
Can I buy the goal zero from you ?
Hi there. I save those kinds of things as giveaways to TEAM 4X members. Thank you for reaching out though!
👍
Thanks.
