  • Kit, Edgcumbes' expert barista is back again to show us how to use a loose leaf, glass tea pot. Once you see how delicious loose leaf tea is compared to a tea bag, it will be hard to revert back!
So sit back, relax and watch our brew-tea-ful strawberry and kiwi fruit tea change colour during this video.

I think loose leaf tea is much easier to deal with than leaves. I compost, and honestly I prefer not having bags with microscopic staples in my compost. While it does all blend in, the leaves just make for excellent compost. I drink 6-10 cups a day, and I never have the desire to use up all the bags I have from before I went to loose leaf. Maybe when summer comes around I'll use them for making iced tea.

What is the benefit ? You can't put it on fire to boil water! I saw stainless steel infuser glasstea kettle that can be heated up on fire oven. So glass infuser kettle doesn't work like that?

Do you have any tips on on how to keep the tea hot for 2-3 hours please? I'm using a Thermos flask (it's tall & a bit awkward) but can't find any decent flask carafes (I tried quite a few from Amazon, mostly Chinese brands, they not only make the tea taste weird, only keep it lukewarm after 30 minutes). I drink a lot of loose tea & would like it piping hot drunk over 2-3 hours plus to brew it better. Someone suggested using an electric teapot warmer, but again don't know which is good. The tealight candle teapot waters barely keep it hot, only lukewarm. Any advice please?
PS. The good brands such as Thermos & Stanley don't have any either.
