Honestly as a plus size person my New Year’s resolution is learning to sew, make jewelry, and crochet. My brother always tells me we don’t negotiate with clothing, and being 25 I’m like yeah fuck discomfort in anyway.

@lovejessicablair I had a friend give me clothes to try on and she didn't even check the sizes before handing them to me, she just thought they were cute. It was an extremely long process realizing they all won't fit and I had to tell her that through the door in a public space. She meant well but oh my gosh 😭.

I appreciate you sharing this, I wear between a size 10-14 depending on the garment and how I want it to fit, but I still have this mentality that thrifting isn't "for me." Every once in a while I'll go, but as a New Yorker I have only thrifted when I'm out of town. The thrifting scene in NY seems really different and my experience matches yours (expensive, disappointing, way less selection than out of town, and weird scenarios happening inside the stores lol)

The way that you’re an otherworldly goddess through and through. One of the reasons I love you and your channel so much is that you totally get that style is about how you feel, and that clothing is a cool ass form of expression - it’s not just about the look. (Which you’re always pulling the baddest, coolest, most unique looks I must add.) Love these spots you chose! If you ever want more choices for thrifting, come to Bushwick. We have 3 L Train vintage stores that are walkable to one another plus a million others - perfect neighborhood for thrifting.
I live in nyc so anytime someone thrifts here I get semi hopeful they’ll find more plus size accommodating stuff.
Many things I want to say. First I love thrifting videos and especially if they are being filmed by someone I like! Second omg the respecting people’s privacy and not filming them without consent concept is so simple and yet people never get it! Like just don’t film strangers? That’s a good area to thrift! If you haven’t been to the L train over there, I think it’s worth it, they have a lot of true vintage. I think there’s also a crossroads in that area

I'm also plus sized and primarily thrift all my clothes. I usually have quite a bit of luck doing so, but I mostly shop the men's section. My style is kind of...goblin/grandpa core, I guess. So thrifted big man clothes work absolutely perfectly for that. 🤷

I agree about the physical media with prices going up on streaming services and everything else really. I’m of a similar size, truthfully, a bit bigger. I’m a big thrifter and get, as much as, possible, second hand, (thrift, eBay, etc). I love raiding the mens section at the thrift. I’m very much a vintage lover and have an eclectic style. (I’m a sag.). I so need to add the Macklemore song to several of my playlists. I kinda forgot about it, tbh. I also have to be careful about wearing heels. I got a knee injury at work and found out I have arthritis in both knees. 🤦♀️ long story longer, I enjoyed your video because clearly I relate to quite a bit of it.

First time seeing your video and I totally empathize what thrift shopping and being plus size is like have you tried thread up I haven’t, but this would be a good opportunity to get a sponsorship from them. Forgive me if it's been asked, but have you been to Plus Bklyn (in brooklyn)?? Secondhand clothing store that only sells plus sizes. They have slightly elevated prices, but awesome curation and it's a very charming shop
