i no longer have access (it was a 72 hour rental,) but you can rent it yourself for around 6-7 dollars if you can afford it. if not, they’re beginning to post more full videos on their channel now.

All these songs are from 2008-09 Miami boys choir goes way back to the 80s lol there’s a whole slew of songs with a whole cadre of diff kids that nobody is even posting about 😂 granted there probably isn’t as much video footage of those years but they had the same live performances
What you have to understand is that these are the ones that got posted by MBC on TikTok so these are the ones people have been exposed to. The rest of us know the many iterations of the Miami Boys choir but for people who aren't Jewish and for the first time are hearing any of this, they're hearing it because it was on TikTok with these boys from this concert. And even for those of us who knew of them previously or grew up on this music, they're not the same live performances...the voices are so different in each iteration of the choir and they all bring something unique. The 07-09 solos just hit different for a lot of people, the tone of the boys is very unique to these specific boys (men now but w.e.) and that's part of what people are so drawn to. You gotta ease them into it. They lost their minds over 1 iteration of the choir if we push them down the rabbit hole too quickly they might go into shock 🤣 you gotta eeeeaaaase them into it. They didn't even know we got down like this until a couple months ago don't break their brains 🤣

Out of curiosity are you Jewish? I find it so amazing how some of our music seems to be spreading amongst secular listeners who appreciate the music without understanding the lyrics
I’m not Jewish! I just like music of all sorts, the language doesn’t matter to me. Hebrew music is often awesome in my opinion. I’ve grown up with some Jewish friends though, so I guess that’s how I’ve found it. :)

@@izzyshyperfixations if you like Jewish boys choirs I highly recommend you check out Yiddishe Nachas. They don't do the same type of elaborate performances as MBC but their vocals are easily on par if not better!
Also it went viral on tik tok that’s how MBC went crazy popular this year - curiously only the content from the 2000s - they have been operating since like the 70s or 80s and none of those where shared probably never uploaded or wtvr

As beautiful as they sing, this is clearly lip synced
the choir parts sure are lip synced but many of the solo parts are sung live.
to my ears it sounds like editing’s been done in post, autotune’s definitely been added over the vocals. that’s clearly audible on some of the high notes. this is the dvd version tho, ive heard versions that aren’t like that. i do think they’re singing live, it’s just been tweaked later.

they're actually singing live, but there for sure is some autotune. Only because the audios online are different and some notes that they hit on certain songs do sound a tiny bit off (but who cares anyway they're gods)
there's been editing on the dvd version (what we're hearing) but Dovid Pearlman said that in Hatov when he had his solo, it was completely out of the blue. He didn't know what was happening, that there is proof it was live :)
