I'm so pleased you bought this shelf it looks to be quality. I'm watching the vlogs backwards and saw this in your kitchen with the kittens sitting in the top looking down from their new hidden space. How fun your life and home is since the kittens have been added to your happy family 💖
We are doing four rooms. I know! All change from floors, walls, tiles, units, panelling, paints, adapting IKEA units and adding to them, knocked a wall through, getting all new kitchen appliances, range cooker (Going back to one) so much more. All part of a healing process as we lost our son and I needed his ground floor bedroom gone. I do not need a bedroom to remind me of him, he is in my heart and our memories. He was on palliative care at home with us until the end. So we want bright, happy, uplifting spaces now. 💗
My family got a kitten at Christmas once. We called her Holly. She used to climb up inside the Christmas tree and poke her fluffy face out like a bauble 🥰
Hey Iwan, good mixed vlog with something for everyone. Those kitchen selves will look great. I think that ‘weed’ in your pot was what I call creeping lobelia. It has a small mauve & purple pea flower.
I love the compass as it is. It’s really different and quite elegant. Would look great in your loft space styled with plants, seasonal decor and frames.
The shelving piece for your kitchen is awesome. I would treat the top part where the would is unpainted with linseed oil as it will not only protect the wood against scratches but also changes in humidity.
I think your kitchen shelf is excellent. I really like the bead-board back, scratch bead shelves with the old fashioned saw tooth adjustments. It has a lot of characteristics of the way they made them in the late 18th early 19th century. Nice find!
I think the "silver" containers are called French flower buckets. I think florist use them for fresh cut flowers, hence no drainage hole. I have one I bought from Ikea I use as a walking stick stand.
If you take a photo of a mystery plant with your iPhone and then into the info of the photo, it will give you the option to look up the plant. It’s so useful!
Vry nice idea for the rescue compass ...the shelves are nice to ..things come together eventually just takes time ..l also realy like the 3d calender simple but pretty..thanks for sharing Mr c ..see you soon ..☃️🎄🎁
Window box style planters are a great repurpose for those cD racks. I like the compass shelf as it is. It’s so unique and looks like a great shelf. Especially with lights at Christmas. Mittens and Pumpkin are really sweet making their random cameo appearances! 😂 😻
Kirsten and Joreg ,( charming German couple ) have popped up their tree! Looking forward to P&M causing mischief on YOUR Christmas tree presentation!lol
The ‘pet hair scraper’ is a cashmere comb and will de bobble wool jumpers, I had not thought to try it on my carpet but I might, I use a window squeegee to remove pet hair from my carpet
That was a great full on vloggy! thank you, loads of bits and bobs to watch there. Made me smile you trying to put your shoes on and the kittens playing with your laces. My cat is 13 and still does that, guess the kitten never really leaves them! Love that advent calender snow globe, relly unusuual. Geraniums, mine too are still in flower, I suppose its been so mild they still think it is late summer! Love that dresser unit, looks like very good quality and perhaps came from a bespoke kitchen, can't wait to see it in place, if you will kindly show us? That cat hair thing you were trying out on the stairs is fabbo, must get one of those! Bathroom looking good, lots of hard work all paying off now it seems. We put some beans of some description into our casseroles, adds a bit of oomph to a stew. Have a go, you might like it! Anyway thanks again have a good rest of the week.
Great finds, I loved the giant compass and the distressed look , it would look lovely as it is with some ornaments and trailing plants. But for Christmas ideal dressed up as a giant bauble and then just turn it back around when Christmas is over. I see the kittens are upstaging you again in the background they are so cheeky and cute.
Thanks for update Mr C..... a weed is only a weed if it is a plant in a place where it isn't wanted. The plant looked lovely growing through the shutter. Much love 😘
I believe that is an Ivy Leaved Toadflax. It spreads very easily and settles in nooks and crannies in walls and patio floors etc. It has a delightful little flower.
The diy kitchen piece is actually the top to a kitchen display unit, it would have had a double cupboard underneath, possibly with a couple of draws. You've got a lovely bit of furniture there.
Waiting on mine getting delivered from Amazon, wasn’t sure how it would be but after watching Mr C clean the stairs I’m impressed and can’t wait to try it out x💕🏴
Hey there Mr. Carrington I have done my mums wallpaper last month with the support of my dad. Also I have got a brand new fence done and gate wooden. I actually do think your rooftop you showed me could do with a fence. Even maybe a gate and outdoor chairs. and table. Also lights in the b&q rooftop and pergola with a, see through top roof. For spring and, summer time and, still keep all your plants.
The latest home reno: where a blank wall is my talented self-taught husband put a window. It brings in so much light and overlooks a green hedge. LOVELY!!!
Iwan, as kittens do not like citrus we do this to keep our cat away from the tree, fill a spray bottle with water and lemon or lime bits. Spritz the tree especially the bottom where they will sniff. Apply as needed, just avoid the lights of course. Works for us!
The kitchen shelves will be amazing. We did up a dresser top in pastel shades, and now it's at home in the spare bedroom. The compass would look nice with lights (i put lights on everything 🤣) or trailing plants maybe 🥰💕
Love the giant bauble idea for the metal shelf you rescued! I know how hard it is living with renovations. We had our kitchen and bath cabinets painted to have a Mexico vibe (I’m in Texas). It took 5 weeks. Houses are very open in the US. No walls from kitchen to loving to dining. Everything was a mess.
Oh, I kind of like that compass backing on that shelf you found. Ever since I saw the movie Contact which is an excellent movie if you ever want a really good one to watch-I’ve been into compasses.
The tin pots are for keeping fresh flowers in. You've seen them at Florist shops. Use baking soda and vinegar to clean and get rid of any remaining bacteria. Neat Find!
Thank you for the pet hair removal device idea. I just now ordered one to use it on my black wool coat. I checked to make sure you can use it on fabric and it said you can. I’ve tried everything to keep my coat lint free to no avail so this looks great. Thanks!
Mr C I don't think you realise how relaxing ur vlogss are.....I feel all the stress leaving my shoulders lol.... ur kitties are the cutest.... I listen to audible books and ur voice would be utterly amazing... as always huge huggles from Scotland 🏴 🤗
The "Compass" is nice just as is. It would make a great place for setting all your small potted plants in. If you really don't like the color, spray paint it. I would leave the round hanger on it it adds character to it. Otherwise it could be too plain. So nix the lamp. Something l think you might like are those colored like lights that glow behind furniture and objects-one color to highlight the loft area. More DIYs! But, it would be good to show how those lights are installed. Take care, your friend in Kansas City, Tom 😃👍🍀🌲♥️♥️♥️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spray painting your metal shelf gold and turning it into a Christmas bauble is a brilliant idea. As the pet parent of a dog and cat, I truly appreciate you telling us about the pet hair scraper. I shudder to think of what's on the surface of my rugs. 😬
I love the giant compass. I'd leave it as it is as it looks amazing. I doubt anyone else will have one. The kitchen shelves will look fab when painted. You're going to be a busy boy and no doubt your kitties will help. 😃 😄
I have four old units like this one. One small, decretive shelving unit in my lower WC, two in the ground floor bathroom and one in my dining room the houses all the crockery. Yes, I love them, solidly made from good wood. 👍👍👍😃
Hello from San Antonio, TX. Good morning just wanted to put in my two cents as far as your Christmas tree. Cats love the hanging decorations and they love to climb the tree. My cat used to love to climb the tree and just sit in the tree or bat at the decorations and knock them down. So with two kittens be careful with them. My opinion I wouldn't put any decorations on the tree made of glass that could fall and cut them if they break.
Love the wreath you made. In answer to your question about your olives; no, you cannot pick and eat them. They are very bitter. They either need to be harvested (from large olive trees), and made into olive oil or prepared in a brine solution to make them edible. (Learned this from watching a TH-cam channel called the Newby's. They live a on farm in Portugal and just learned what can be done with their olives).
The shelves look like the top of a vintage or antique Welsh dresser which would have been solid wood. Maybe try removing the paint, it could be a really lovely antique, and if not you can always paint over it again
Cannot wait to see the shelving unit in the kitchen, and I think your metal “pocket watch” should be a shelving unit for your lounge or loft room, but remove the back and replace with slatted wood? Xx
That’s a good find the shelving around the range in about £30 pound to buy so that was a good find brilliant as windowboxes brilliant thank you for sharing that great find take care keep safe all the family and the kittens 🐱 🐾🐾😊👍
So nice to have an old fashioned advent calendar, love opening the windows ….less commercial with out chocolates , cosmetics or whisky but loved the wine one I had,
Trying to update and make my home more modern. Classic elegance is my design. Sure wish we had thrift stores. Love all your outdoor markets. It takes a lot of time to find items.
Hi iwan great vlog as always, love the shelving unit it will love fab in ur kitchen, yeah we have a few of those scrapers as well gizmos hair gets everywhere they r great coz the hover never gets it all up 💕💕💕
I'm surprised at how many scented candles and sprays that are for sale and purchased. In my area in Canada we don't use them nearly as much. I also noticed we don't use perfume as much at all.
I really have to get one of those scrapers, they really do work! You could use the cd racks to store toiletries or cleaning products. The compass would be great as a bauble sprayed gold. I definitely need to go through my Christmas decorations as I want to make a wreath bauble. I’m also going to go foraging for pine branches to make a mantle piece feature😊
I would love to see you doing an upcycle project that involves your Cricut Joy! Perhaps create a stencil or some lettering? I'd love to see more Christmassy crafts in December! 🤔🤞🤞 I'm trying to renovate my flat (for the past 8 months! Very slow progress...!) Just trying to get a plumber is proving to be a nightmare! 🤣🤣
The kittens are so cute when they are trying to make a game of chase the shoestrings when you are trying to tie your shoes. Love the cat plate on the wall in the kitchen. I also thought giant Christmas ornament when I saw the metal shelf. Noticed the rust in the metal pots for your roof garden. You can get rust off of metal by wading aluminum foil into to a ball shape and use it like a hand sander on the rust. Works great. So awesome that your plant produced some olives. Your wreath you made came out really pretty. I told Luke that y’all really impressed me with how far you both have come with doing diys. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I remember when our cats were little and interested in the Christmas tree, we would eat satsumas and throw the peel on the floor round the base of the tree - not pretty, but effective!
Hello Mr. C!! I absolutely love that round metal shelves thing, there's endless ideas that you can do with it! I can't wait to see what you'll do with it!

The pet hair scraper is great--works wonderfully well. One caution--be careful to choose the direction you brush it in--the first time I used it I went "against the grain" and it pulled all sorts of threads out of the fabric on one of my best chairs. Eeek!
The kitchen shelves will look amazing, always good to have a peek at your roof garden and see how the bathroom is getting on. Thank you for showing us the pet scraper I really need one of those as my hoover is on its last legs and I have two very furry dogs that love running up and down the stairs. The wreath is beautiful.
I'm so pleased you bought this shelf it looks to be quality. I'm watching the vlogs backwards and saw this in your kitchen with the kittens sitting in the top looking down from their new hidden space. How fun your life and home is since the kittens have been added to your happy family 💖
You could cut some small wood pieces that slide in to make shelves for small succulents to hang on the wall.
OMG Please make a giant bauble !!!!

Lol
Grouping staggered sized white candles always looks good in a faux fireplace.
Hey Iwan, good mixed vlog with something for everyone. Those kitchen selves will look great. I think that ‘weed’ in your pot was what I call creeping lobelia. It has a small mauve & purple pea flower.
Just sharing, I have one similar , I hung it on the wall and added some corbels, one on each side.
I love the compass as it is. It’s really different and quite elegant. Would look great in your loft space styled with plants, seasonal decor and frames.
When my cats were young they would climb into the tree halfway up and go off to sleep! X
Mischievous kittens 😂🤣
The shelving piece for your kitchen is awesome. I would treat the top part where the would is unpainted with linseed oil as it will not only protect the wood against scratches but also changes in humidity.
If the back comes off the metal shelves, you could paint and use as a giant tray or use it as a plant display !! Steve
I think your kitchen shelf is excellent. I really like the bead-board back, scratch bead shelves with the old fashioned saw tooth adjustments. It has a lot of characteristics of the way they made them in the late 18th early 19th century. Nice find!
For the CD rack. Put a light in it. I think that might look very nice. Have a lovely day.
I think the "silver" containers are called French flower buckets. I think florist use them for fresh cut flowers, hence no drainage hole. I have one I bought from Ikea I use as a walking stick stand.
If it was me I'd leave the round shelf like it is. It looks like a compass and looks great!!
Love that huge metal thingy.. would be stunning as an oversize pocket watch . Some beautiful numerals on perspex that looks like glass.
Love the carpet scraper for cat hair. Just perfect
Your wreath is amazing love it 😊❤

Morning Mr C, just watched Pokerface. What an amazing movie. Loved loved loved it.
My husband is obsessed with our doggy hair scraper 😅
Mr. C I like the shelve unit. Putting it the kitchen is a great idea.👍👍❤
Your Calender looks like fortnum and mason building xxx love the old classic ones xxx
I’ve had a carpet scraper for ages. I also use mine on my couch throws & there ideal for removing bobbles on jumpers x
Thanks for update Mr C..... a weed is only a weed if it is a plant in a place where it isn't wanted. The plant looked lovely growing through the shutter. Much love 😘

I have 3 cats and do my stair carpet once a week with one of those carpet scrapers, bringing the carpet back to like new 😁
Waiting on mine getting delivered from Amazon, wasn’t sure how it would be but after watching Mr C clean the stairs I’m impressed and can’t wait to try it out x💕🏴

Wow great fines. There in fantastic shape. I love the large metal shelve. I would leave as is and maybe just change the inside of it. 😊❤️🇨🇦
Just listening to your videos is so soothing and stress relieving! I’m doing Black Friday online shopping and listening to you. Love your videos!
The kitchen shelves will be amazing. We did up a dresser top in pastel shades, and now it's at home in the spare bedroom. The compass would look nice with lights (i put lights on everything 🤣) or trailing plants maybe 🥰💕

Lay the round thing horizontally and use it as a tray.
Oh, I kind of like that compass backing on that shelf you found. Ever since I saw the movie Contact which is an excellent movie if you ever want a really good one to watch-I’ve been into compasses.
I love the cd rack would make a great light box lamp
Always a joy watching your vlogs Mr C. Happy Friday..😁
My kitten has her own Xmas bauble to play with. So far my plot has worked & she's left the ones on the tree alone . 😁
The tin pots are for keeping fresh flowers in. You've seen them at Florist shops.
Use baking soda and vinegar to clean and get rid of any remaining bacteria. Neat Find!
My project is my hallway, which I planned summer 20, lockdown.. Got everything ready to go and still haven't done it!!!!! X

Love the cabinet makes a statement
You could put a light strip inside those boxes and make little shelves to hold items
Christmas ornament is a fun idea for a diy! Very clever!!😃👍

Try living with the colors on the shelf except the red to see if you like it in the kitchen. It looks very unique!

Hello!!
J habite le sud de la France et c est la récolte des olives ici aussi....
You are my best teacher!!!
Thanks so much
I love the giant compass. I'd leave it as it is as it looks amazing. I doubt anyone else will have one.
The kitchen shelves will look fab when painted.
You're going to be a busy boy and no doubt your kitties will help. 😃 😄

Your metal find is a Mariner’s Compass! It is great just as it is! Please don’t rip it apart!! Love Canada
the building looks like st Pauls cathedral
You need to trim the ribbon ends. Either one point or two. They look unfinished straight across. Love your videos

Would love to see a tour of your home.
I think a big bauble for Christmas would be great and then turn it back into a shelf, and loved the idea of the latern 👌
What a great piece for your kitchen!! Hurry up I want to see what you have done 😅 The magic of imagination!!
Pet hair gadget would be handy for stairs even if you didn't have pets , looks like it gets into the pile really well.
love the video Mr c, you got some nice things there the kittens are getting big. x ❤️
That’s a good find the shelving around the range in about £30 pound to buy so that was a good find brilliant as windowboxes brilliant thank you for sharing that great find take care keep safe all the family and the kittens 🐱 🐾🐾😊👍
I NEED that pet hair scraper, thank you for that tip! And I love your new shelf!

Olives straight off the tree are horribly bitter. They are usually cured in brine or similar to take the bitterness out before being eaten.
I would make a giant Bauble for your front door x
Great finds. 👍- Frances
I really have to get one of those scrapers, they really do work! You could use the cd racks to store toiletries or cleaning products. The compass would be great as a bauble sprayed gold. I'm trying to renovate my flat (for the past 8 months! Very slow progress...!) Just trying to get a plumber is proving to be a nightmare! 🤣🤣
That defluffer is brill Ewan. First I had the sound off and thought you were using a vegetable scraper😂
Hello Mr. C!!
I absolutely love that round metal shelves thing, there's endless ideas that you can do with it! I can't wait to see what you'll do with it!
I am here lovely lad. Excited to see what items you have found! Or should I say treasures you have found?!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love your finds - especially the kitchen shelves, they'll look excellent when they're repainted. My home 'project' has been ongoing for years. I moved here in November 2019 (one bed modern purpose built flat) and managed to get the flooring sorted, then Christmas happened. I got a few bits done, shelving in the kitchen (Ikea crates wall mounted) just little bits. Then the pandemic happened, and I haven't really done a lot since. I've bought a few new bits of furniture and turned a small little used WC into a storage room for my office supplies and DIY bits. The rest has remained untouched. One major thing I did do during lockdown was to grow an avocado stone into a beautiful 3ft high plant (Ava the avocado) is beautiful. Love your vlogs and hope you have a lovely weekend. x
Someday my plinth will come!
Great dumpster finds!!!
Great finds!
Mr. Carrington - like many others I am getting a message from you that I one some kind of contest and I believe this is a bogus message.
Love that bauble shelf unit. Look great outside with pot plants on it.
Your shelves look like the top off a dresser. I have similar in my kitchen. Great find.
