Welcome to Manchester! Chanel invites us to discover its super prestigious Métiers d’art collection. Open your eyes wide, there will be savoir faire!
In Manchester's Northern Quarter, Chanel transformed Thomas Street into a catwalk. It’s the street of bars, restaurants. You can even get a tattoo there if you get enough pints. The Mancunian guests explain the specificity of this iconic street. Model Jade NGuyen feels like she's in Harry Potter.
The big bosses are there: Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel fashion, who has given a thousand interviews over the past three days, including to the local press such as the Manchester Evening News, and the artistic directors of the various maisons d’art! Loic is delighted, he speaks to the children of Oasis: Lennon and Gene Gallagher, he recognized them thanks to their iconic eyebrows. We meet the extremely charming Katana sisters who give us a local accent lesson.
But first let's go back to the fittings - which we call accessorizing at Chanel - which took place the two days before. Amelia Gray is super comfortable in her outfit. Virginie Viard, very relaxed, adds jewelry, fancy headbands from Maison Michel, and the necessary bags to the silhouettes. It’s the Métiers d’Art défilé, an extraordinary collection since it is specific to Chanel. Every year, the house creates a storyline to showcase the extent of the talents of its craft houses. Lemarié! Massaro! Goossens! Let's visit them at “Le 19M”, in Paris. We zoom on the finest details!
On Thomas Street, the parade begins. Gisele Norman opens the dance. Then Karen Elson, visibly moved since she spent her childhood in Manchester. Bright colors worthy of the outfits of monarchs wanting to be seen in the crowd… Coordinated camellias, handmade at Lemarié. References to the glory of the country are hidden everywhere: the green of the English countryside, the diagonals of the decor of the legendary Hacienda night-club, the crests of soccer jerseys, and embroidered tea cups, the mini-skirts of the swinging 1960s. Alexa Chung appreciates the references. Karen Elson closes the show in a dazzling all-black dress, totally embroidered, in stretch velvet, a tribute to the nighttime outings of Mancuniennes who never seem to be cold on Saturday night. It’s a standing ovation of the crowd for Virginie Viard.

Loic, Merci. Thank you. I really appreciate you speaking with the people creating everything that goes into the clothing and accessories. Loic your work really shows how amazing these people are as artists and they are so humble. You really show how amazing the work is. Thank you.
Thank you Steven!
More than the actual show i love to see behind the scenes with all the professionals working on jewelry, fabrics, and clothing construction. It is so satisfying to see
The Goossens enamel project I could watch for hours!
As always a meticulous presentation via the Loic eye for detail. I adore any video documentation that highlights with such intimacy the talents of artisans who work tirelessly behind the scenes, sometimes around the clock when needed‼️
Overall a MUCH BETTER presentation by Chanel's new creative director. Everything is beautifully bespoke in pure Chanel style harking back to the 1950s and 1960s of chic tweeds, exquisite color combinations and hues, fringes on pockets, beautiful gold buttons, bracket braiding, rich look mini purses, great style shoes, lovely fashion jewelry. This collection is better than any in the past 5 years. The colored leathers matching beautifully to the generously fit and tailored fabrics immediately speak luxury. The double C motif was used generously and in a practical way. The bracelet designs were especially amazing. The use of pearls on the clothing was refreshing and so Chanel. I love how the brooches were recycled in design from prior generations and fit so nicely into the clothing design.
Way of making Manchester AND! CHANEL super cool 😊❤
Wow. I'm totally using tagwalk for work next year. Thank you Loic!
Tagwalk made my life easier!
Lolllllll... the pronunciation of the places! Loved that bit. Lol x 1000. Such an inspirational and fun video. Thank you Loic!
I want to read the weather report on the BBC!
Big up our country #GreatBritain! Manchester is a buzzing city- 24hr city. Glad to see a major house showing in the UK, 'am actually tempted to try Chanel now.
Merci beaucoup Naon!!
What I love about your videos, is that they feel as finely tailored than the clothes we see...You made me love fashion. Thanks.
Trop bien!
Indeed!
Bravo Chanel! ❤
At last the spotlight moves away from London and shines on Manchester! 🐝 Cheers Chanel 🐝
Your comments on all things in this industry are so interesting and stimulating. Love this channel. 😅
Thank you so much!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I love looking into this "other" world. People are amazingly talented.❤
Alexa : has to be wrapped up all the time otherwise she can't live
Hope & Millie : "oh we don't care about the cold."
two very different mindsets🤣
The Brit complexity I guess!
Brilliant collection !!!!! Tres tres Chanel ! Coco would have been proud
Those tweeds are works of art. Fashion supernova.
Always lovely to see and hear from Alexa, and how adorable are those twins?
Outstanding Loic! Thank you so much. The workmanship...it's just epic! 💯
Thank you Todd!
Fashion supernova! That was great.
Thanks for showing us this great show! Favorite in years!
Yay! Thanks for watching!!!
Grazie a Chanel, grazie a Te.
Loic you are fantastic. I have been wainting for chanel for such a long time!!!😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍🔝🔝🔝🔝
Fashion supernova - and who are these barbarians who DON'T watch your videos to the end?! Now, the other stuff. Ohmygoodness the colors!! The wallpaper dress! The guitar strap dress! The spectator pumps - sorta. Well, at least the idea/memory was good. But - the colors! Barely any clothes-dryer lint grey. Even the browns were..."browns!" Another wonderful thing in this video is the absence of 10 minutes of k-pop and their idiotic screaming fans outside. You, however, are flawless. Speaking for those of us who will never come closer to Chanel than a bottle of fragrance, I thank you and your team for bring this glorious world to us!
This is imply ACE! 💣Thank you for showcasing the mind-blowing artistry and craftsmanship of everyone involved, from behind the scenes to the catwalk. Faiseurs de Feu. 🔥
It's a beautiful collection ❤❤❤❤❤
You always have the best quality coverage of fashion shows 🙏 laughed so much of the English city pronunciation bit haha oh it's a hard science that one
Love love love the video, Loic!! All the time there is a place for humor, great details on how the clothes being made. It’s magic!!! Merci!!
Thank you Mary! Happy new year!!!
Ha-ha, your video is just in time for my Saturday binge! Fashion supernova because I watched tikk the end😄Also it was nice to see a Ukrainian womean weaving Chanel🤩
It's amazing !! 🤩🤩 I like the process !! Bravo Chanel !! 👍👍😁😁
Finally, my job makes me come back to your channel so I can get updated. Since 2018 I've been so far away. I forgot the excitement I feel with your french accent and MoodBoards :3 Merci Monsieur Loic.
The technical construction of the garments is exquisite, but the clothes are sooo unflattering. (Except your Manchester United jersey, which is adorable.)
Not to be rude but they could have totally reproduced the street inside a studio, like Karl Lagerfeld used to do, instead of shutting local businesses. Most of which later complained that they lost more than what they got compensated for. Not to mention that Chanel wanted to put up a show in Manchester yet it asked locals to not show up on their balconies, it’s so tone deaf
Bravo Virginie, et les autres. Les centaines de ptites mains. Je note aussi la diversité des mannequins. Finie la longiligne... Bravo Virginie.
I think Mark E. Smith needs another drink now. Haha! Musically I think a little unimaginative, Manchester has so much more rather then to play New Order twice;) Great video and I loved that it was raining! Hope you made to the gay quarter;) xx
Precioso!!❤❤
Fashion supernova ! 👏
THAT final dialogue hahahahaha
Fashion supernova! 🎀
Love this
Ciao Loic che belle cose e quanto lavoro che c'e' dietro ogni pezzo.....
Say something please ur sooo cute ! "
So appreciative of the details you always show us which are unbelievable.
And Amanda! 🤩

Merci pour ce passionnant reportage ! Fashion Supernova
Ahhhhhhh mon accent préféré 😊
Great video as usual, mixing the serious and the goofy! It is so satisfying to see all the work and details that go into the clothes, truly like works of art! What a gorgeous collection! I must say all of Virginie's Métiers d'Arts collections are truly outstanding!!! How was the gay village Loic?
Merci François! Didn't get the time to get all gayvillaged! It will be for next time I'm afraid!
fashion supernova!
Yay!!
O my I really need to know what machine or ‘needle’ she was using by turning the color on the bracelet. I’m searching for this such a long time!!
Houndstooth! 😂
IMPOSSIBLE TO PROUNOOTH !
Great report Loic ❤🎉😊 love Chanel, thanks for sharing, greetings 🇲🇽👏👏👏❤
🖤
This made me want to go pub crawling with Hope and Millie at the gay village! chaNEL!!
Ah ah ah ! Same actually!
Great video! Always so entertaining. For the models, except for a few the rest just walking like.....normal people? For one of the most famous brands in the world, are these models now the norm? I prefer the old times where models really walked like models.
💓💓💓💓💓
Loic, is there a way for me to translate French to English so I can understand what the incredible artist behind the scenes are saying? I speak very little French, enough to be polite when I travel but it isn’t enough. Thank you for these close up looks at the fabrics & the craftsmanship that makes these Design houses so fabulous. You bring them to life. ❤️
👍😉👌👌👏👏👏👏👏
Michel Gaubert ❤
The best!
Fashion Supernova
Apolline is very cute.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
2:32-2:34 Isn't that similar, if not the same choreo as Yunjin's solo... 🧐
Loic what is the proper meaning of Metiers d'Art in English? 👍👍
Hello Freddy, Métiers means jobs, but also the loom. Arts you don't need to translate. Artistic looms could be a translation. When the collection was first launched it was called 5 à 7 : Chanel as number 5 and the 7 ateliers it had bought at the time. It was also called Satellite, as the ateliers were the satellites of Planet Chanel. The word Satellite is actually visible on one of the silhouette of the Paris-Manchester collection. Thanks for watching and happy holidays! Loic
@@LoicPrigent thank you so much! I translated it on Google but I wanted a more real meaning.
Bonjour Loïc je suis le denier
Was that Sofia Copalla at 1:08 ?
IT WAS!
Of course!
Russian aristocrats created Channel using all of their knowledges, who fled Russia at that time. Gabriel Channel herself was from orphanage and had no knowledges, nor education, she was a great stylist.
Russians brought chic into Paris.
fashon supanova
Thank you Delaney!
Can we ask the neighbours about how it affected their business for this event
steak and oysters 🤢
Ah ah ah! When it sounds disgustig it's usually good though!
The Gallaghers were so boring to watch, man, you were invited to a Chanel show, there's nothing better than that. On top of everything, one of them is completely clueless about Thomas Street, probably you Loïc knew more than him just by asking.
