  • Hey RCT! I was asked a while ago about Motorola XTS and Motorola Sabers being able to be used together. Yes, they can! You can even program other radios to communicate with other brand radios. In this video, I was able to find the frequencies for my PXTON and Retevis radios, and program them to my Motorola radio. The only difference will be when it comes to the digital format (DMR & P25) and features. Hope this helps someone somewhere!

Thank you so much for this video. I really appreciate your detailed explanation, especially about Saber radios being analog and Astro Sabers being both analog and P25. That's a tremendous help because I would like to be able to buy one Astro Saber and one XTS5000 (according to my budget of course), and be able to use P25 on them if I want to. It's a nice option to have. You're absolutely right about the sound from a Baofeng and the sound from a Motorola. Although I don't personally own one, I have heard the sound coming from NYC's police, fire and ems radios in person for years, and there's no comparison to my cheap Baofengs that I listen in on. Now I just have to hunt down a UHF Astro Saber that's in good condition and legit. Again, thank you for the informative video and having a great channel 👍.

@BlueInMyBlood9005 Absolutely! Thank you for the inspiration. An Astro Saber is definitely a fun one to have along with the XTS5000.
