The Pajero Sport is a very capable off road vehicle for the serious 4WD enthusiast. One big problem is the standard 18” alloy rims. These don’t allow for much clearance between rocks and the rim, especially when using lower tyre pressures in rough conditions. Currently there are no 17” steel rims available in Australia that will fit this vehicle, this is because of front brake calliper clearance issues.

I have seen plenty of people using 17” steel wheels on these.

Pretty good considering it is a body-on-frame 4WD with a live rear axle. It is no softly sprung AWD SUV like an XTrail but then it is far better when off road. On smooth roads it is very smooth, but on bumpy secondary roads you know that you are in a 4WD.

No one seems to mention it’s poor towing capability.

3.1 Tonnes (3100kg) towing ability is better than most other vehicles - including the Landcruiser - maybe thats why it is not mentioned as "poor".
