Is comedy a rival religion to Christianity also? Mostly anecdotal reasons and not many logical points. Psychology is merely the study of the mind. We study many things that are not the Bible but does that make us less biblical or Christian? Is studying the skin to help skin cancer patients also wrong? Bc the Bible doesn’t speak much about skin cancer. These misconceptions and fallacy (straw man) filled arguments are the reasons why Christian people don’t seek behavioral help even when it has gotten out of control. Yes you can talk to God about your diabetes and he may heal you if it is his will. But I also believe that you should talk to a doctor about a diet plan and medication plan. This speaker has studied a lot of psychology without even knowing it. That’s why he knows that making people laugh will retain their attention. Is that comedy that he is using not a psychological strategy? I say this as a Christian myself. I trust in the Bible more than I trust in the study of psychology and the study of medicine and the study of physics and biology but that doesn’t mean God can’t use doctors in all of these areas to help us live a peaceful and productive life.
