I totally agree with you about the melt and pour, I have seen some BEAUTIFUL melt and pour soaps that I consider ART. Yours are just that beautiful too!
I love that you support people who make melt & pour soaps - it truly is a form of art and for those saying it's not good enough, I dare them to try it ;)
I love M&P. I do cold process also. But when my kid wants to try his hand at making soap M&P is the best thing to use. He loves doing his own thing and I enjoy how easy it is to use.
I totally agree with you. I make CP soap as well as MP soap. There is so much you can do with MP soap that you can't do with CP soap. They are just two different styles of soap making. Both have their pros and cons. I think all of your soaps are beautiful!!
Karen I couldn't agree with you more. I started out with melt & pour because I wasn't comfortable dealing with lye yet. Then I gradually started making cp/hp. I still love some mp soaps and you can do sooo many beautiful designs with it. I wish I lived near you!! Your shop is so lovely and I know I would be addicted to your soaps! Many hugs, Hilary
Oh I also wanted to say Karen your glycerin soaps are amazing. My most favorite and most time cosuming soap I have ever made was a glycerin soap. It took hours to make the layers and swirls and the result was beautiful. Not all fragrances hold up well to CP. Thats were M&P shines!!!
I love your soaps Karen! The snowflakes are my favorite. You should try to add some soap sparkles to the white snowflakes that you embed in the log. That would be gorgeous. Just an idea. :)
I am so happy that you spoke up about melt and pour. I use the same scenerio about the fabric. I get angry when someone says its cheating. Lets face it when was the last time cold process soapers made there own lye from ashes or redered their own fat from our farm raised livestock. No, we buy packaged oils, lye crystals& rely on a soap calculator to make beautiful soap. I bet if we could speak to a real homesteader they would think us CP soapers have it easy compared to how soap was made then.
Beautiful, as always! Obviously your heart and soul are poured into each batch that you create. Thanks for the inspiration! Can you do a video on how you make your own glycerin soap base?
Love M&P and I am just starting to get into working with soap. I love your videos, thank you for all the info you give and the beautiful products you make! You are a sweetheart! :) Cindi
Soapers Who don't do M&P (glycerine) are missing out on a heck of a lot of sales. That's why I do both - Glycerine and Cold Process. That way you don't loose any! And I promise you the MP sells 20 times faster than CP (at least). Come one everybody, let's get creative in every way!! No Matter what your canvas!
Thank you for that! Was feeling some judgement about MP but I can do it with my 6 and 8 year old. I do CP when I get time, and having 3 children... that's not much ;)

Hi Karen! I love your soaps! They are so beautiful. I tried making some of the glycerin soaps and how you do what YOU do with them is just amazing :-)
