Arnold Schwarzenegger telling Rory Stewart that he’s proud of him is not something I imagined happening, but here we are!

The Bill Burr bit is so accurate about Arnold.
How many lifetimes would you need to achieve what he has achieved? To go to a foreign country, learn the language, get famous for lifting weights, become the biggest actor on the planet, marry into that country's political royalty, get elected into political office and a bunch of other things. Just an incredible story and an inspiration to millions.

Another great example of why I love this programme; proper, grown-up discussion between thoughtful individuals who actually listen to each other (and are well informed).
Gents, I applaud you and your very well chosen, wonderful guests! As Arnie said “keep up the good work guys, thank you, I’m proud of you”.

What an amazing guest. He has one of these lives where it appears he has some cheat code. He wanted to be a body builder and get out of Europe, he became the best bodybuilder in the world. He wanted to be a movie star, he became the highest paid actor in hollywood. He wanted to go into politics, he reached the highest office he legally could.
But it was all insanely hard work, 17-18 hours a day obsessive work. People forget that when you see pictures of him in LA in the 70s, he looks like a kid chilling, but he had a construction company, that funded 6 hours/day physical training, then accent classes and acting classes at night. The man is a fucking machine.

I've been a big fan of Arnie for a few years now. People think it's unusual because I'm a woman and I'm not the typical fan base of his. But the way he is able to appreciate others, and the way he is able to be grateful for all aspects of his life I've always found very inspirational and and very motivating.

I loved what he said about many politicians lacking courage and purely interested in protecting their position. It’s so accurate in literally every country. As the late Tony Benn MP from the U.K. said “In politics there are weathercocks and sign posts. Weathercocks spin in whatever direction the wind of public opinion blows and then there are the signposts. And they sit sound and true and say this is the way to a better world.” I’m not sure if I’ve quoted him 100% accurately but this is true of every generation.
