Classic support experience lol. People making tons of mistakes and blaming everything on you, when you can't even do anything about it to save them. Then the same player has zero presence in the next match, proving the support player correct that the player scapegoating everyone else is just trying to deflect blame to make themselves look better. This is what makes support players jaded af and why people encounter toxic mercy mains.
honestly mercy mains in low ranks ive found have blamed their dps for everything ngl
happened to me today. watched our sig get antid and then walk straight into the enemy team and die. soon as he dies he goes to chat and asks why he wasnt getting heals.

On top of that, sometimes it feels like the support is doing nothing because they are playing death tag with little to no peel. Or the person complaining is just jumping around like an idiot and/or running away from the healing while spamming "I need healing". Like yes I'm totally gonna turn around and shoot the jumping Genji instead of my Rein that's in the fight and holding it, step in front of me instead.
Or like run to a health pack rq instead of spamming "need healing." It's so infuriating

Yes, this is the Overwatch that 95% of the player base experiences: Some utter chump on your team tilting because they can't understand why they can't be healed when they're feeding.
you know I try to avoid talking with toxic teammates but every so often it's too satisfying to not just respond and see their idiocy, especially as a support player
In a somewhat similar vein, I once ran a Mercy in 3v3 TDM, effectively giving our team unlimited lives through Res. One of the opponents got so salty over it in Match chat, but I just didn’t respond because I didn’t feel like it, and they kept going on in chat. They radiated the ‘I’m mad but I don’t want to appear mad so I’m going to keep saying ‘LOL’ in chat while still being salty.’ vibes.
Emongg forgetting lucio can wallride up instead of waiting on a broken elevator had me in tears for whatever reason

Nothing makes me more angry than when someone gets 1 tapped by like a hanzo, widow, doom, road, or in this case a gengi blade and they cry about heals. Also crazy because you healed him twice.

I once tried to play league cuz a friend wanted to play it with me but i got insulted every match lol, there's just too much to learn, i didn't have the patience and neither do other players

bear really needs to know the ways of positioning and knowing to back off when in danger 8 out of 10 times you won't survive a assault on the enemy team when overexposed liked that, not to mention he had horrible and i mean horrible map awareness on where his teammates at or if he is in line of sights of healers.

Yeah I’m like really not good at being yelled at and shit. Was told to kill myself, had the r word thrown at me, tons of racial slurs too. It would probably be much worse if I was on mic and they knew I was a girl. Female players get a ton of rape threats too and shit. The game is cool, the fan base is disgusting.

I'll be honest I'm the enemy rein on vol. I pretty much realized that my Cree was trash and just played to have fun chasing down my favorite streamer since Noone else would go after him after I was calling for it all game. I just wanted to give him some content if I could 😀

Gotta say tho, shaming a cassidy player for right-clicking is just dumb. "Why did you kill me with your reliable ability, when an honorable person would have risked an aim-based approach to feel better about themselves". Makes no sense. Abilities exist, and making use of whatever is most reliable and efficient relative to the situation, is always going to be the the most intelligent choise. You didn't see pro teams abandon GOATS because it was "too cheap" right?
This is more a pet peeve of mine towards everyone who shames fanning the hammer. It's an ability that exists in the game. People are going to use it. You died, get over it. Implying others are bad for using it, just shows that you yourself are twice the fool as they are, for thinking that players shouldn't make use of reliable abilities. By that mindset, the entirety of Doomfist might as well not exist because every aspect of his kit is related to some form of cheap shot ability combo.
Its just the standard 3 gms/pros in a lower rank lobby trying to create drama for videos. Its nothing new.

I mean in his defense he wasn't saying he was bad for using fan (not that I recall anyways), he was saying he was bad because that was the ONLY way he could get kills. Not really a big difference but an important one imo
After playing a huge amount of Valorant I can see that OW has less toxic people. And the environment is completely different. In OW you spend 10-15 mins with trash people, you can make plays even without them, block, avoid, mute, report and gg go next. In Valo you have to play 40 mins with these people, it's so hard to play 4v5, they can sabotage every round, they can team damage, and reports do nothing at all. But the most 'exciting' thing that in Valo you can get a trashcan the very next match unlike in OW where you can play like 5 normal games and get one toxic.
I tried to play more games in Valo to overcome toxicity but man after few toxic games in Valo I feel physically drained. But in OW playing more games actually helps you to be more though and just ignore people in VC and text chat as well.
I had the most silver take ever in one of my games today: "Mercy, why is your healing lower than Moira's?" right before they stood in front of a DVA bomb
I never get it when smurfs get mad because teammates are worse or bad. If you don't wanna play with worse/bad teammates don't smurf.
Worse is they use their non smurf peak on their main as if it translates to other roles. His ana is garbage compared to his rein.

I was playing Ana with some friends last night and this rando was going off on me, calling me the hard R word and everything because I "wasn't healing him". I explained to him that I can't outheal stupidity and bad positioning, and that he'd have to reposition himself better if he wanted to be healed fully through a fight. He ended up REMAINING low ground and out of LOS the entire game and got quickly rolled every fight. Every time I'd try to run after him into the fight to heal him, it ended badly for both of us.
I know exactly what you mean, a few games ago there was an Orisa on my team who was just completely out of sync with the rest of the team, we were defending on Blizzard world and I was playing Bap, I can't remember who the other support was but I had gold healing and was struggling to keep everyone up and this Orisa kept going in completely by herself and dying and then crying about no heals while I was literally just getting out of spawn. Even put in chat "health packs > healers" I then pocketed them for a minute or so and they still walked into the whole enemy team, got maybe one kill and then died n blamed me for it.
those rein sleeps were nasty.

I literally hit gold for the first time just got a modem in my room so it fixed the sucking connection. I play healer it’s all I play and no matter what happens it’s always the healer getting blamed. Rein charges into enemy team dies then spams need healing. Doom fist goes all the way in there back line completely out of sight the tanks won’t push up omg healer you suck uninstall. How the hell do you expect me to heal you through like 3 walls. It’s literally just the same over and over no matter what happens they just blame healer. Or the other dps yelling I need healing while playing genji or tracer and just purposely running away out of your los to get healed. Or the other dps like widows that might have high ground that freaking spam I need healing while I’m trying to keep the tanks alive , then when the fights over I turn around to find them messing like 10 health.

When the game is full of smurf accounts mixed in with genuine noobs, no wonder there is toxicity in the game. It doesn't help the fact that matchmaking is NON-EXISTENT inside of quick-play. Smurfs are a massive problem for people who aren't top 500 OW players (most people)...
Smurfs are a very exaggerated problem, most smurfs get to their ranks pretty fast. Ppl think the enemy is smurfing every time they see an account below 1 star, when 9 times out of 10, the "smurf" is already at the rank they belong to

I was in a game with a ‘BEAR’ and he was so nice. This was not that one.
Man I want to love overwatch so much. I got into a game, and I'll admit I could've done better, but my other support was full on saying I didn't do anything the whole game. Then completely lied about having 8.6k heals, which was actually 7.2 at the card screen lmao, meanwhile I was at 7.1. I know I could've done better, I just don't get why she lied about having over 1k more lmao. Feels toxic

This isn't the exact same experience, but one time as Reinhardt, we were trying to stop the payload and our zen kept getting a ton of kills, and was flaming me for it. He had very few deaths, and I had 11k damage mitigated.

Not really. I am that rein and as I said in other comments, I realized Cree was throwing and just decided to have fun with my favorite streamer that's all. I knew we couldn't win when Cree couldn't do anything about the tracer

imma be honest, i didnt think there would be people like bear in diamond lol, since ive been on an insane bad luck stream with teammates on support ive dipped to gold ;-; but got back to plat yesterday and while i was playing i came across the most toxic guy ive ever met and he was constantly just saying hardstuck gold, even after i told him to look at my profile and after telling him i got to diamond he legit acted the exact same as bear XD

I got called out for playing zen even though he was meta. Because "he doesnt heal enough" by the dpsplayers and we lost but i literally had more kills than both of the dps combined.

I played with a "Bear" in Gold but he wasn't this much of an asshat (then again, I was Mercy and they were Pharah). If it's the same Bear, then he definitely got boosted hard.

You know in an argument there's always that one uncreative asswipe that just repeats the same line, i also got lucky to have the same situation as Flats recently, this Zarya was flaming me for not saving him in a 1v4 situation, I was playing Zen, proceed to flame me the entire game, I didn't even reply that much tbh, i didn't even try to be an asshole not heal him, i didn't want to lose the game so i just heal him as per normal and of cos each time i died, his was sure to point it out, along with his duo tank buddy, because the buddy backs him up like a good pet.
Next game, OW matchmaking worked and blessed me with a revenge game, the Zarya and his pet, i swap to Ana this time, because i wanna CC the shit outta the Zarya, i also was lucky to have a good team, our Dva immediately started with a game plan at the start, go FULL DIVE, and let's just say the Zarya didn't have fun with all the anti nades and sleep dart i threw his way, how i know this? Because i went to rewatch the Replay VOD and saw him AFK in spawn after each death, imagining whos his pointing fingers at this time. yes im petty enough to rewatch it. i think i sleep him at least 2~4 time on 2 maps and countless of anti nades.
