    Ty, for all of the videos, especially in english. They're extremely helpful I'm American and my husband is Egyptian. I have learned so much. I greatly wait on each one. And, my husband even more so because he missed his home food. If, you have any breakfast foods and complete lunch and dinners videos I will appreciate them. You and Mama Kat's are the best.!😁

    • @MiriamzKitchen

      It will but it's better with short grain rice.
      Keep in mind that basmati rice will need more water 🙂

    Miriam, have you tried this recipe with variations like adding meat or vegetables?

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, definitely. It comes out amazing.
      I just make sure i cook the meat first 3/4 the way through before adding it to the rice.

    Can i use angel hair instead and cut it shorter. Will it be the same like vermicelli

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes when I'm out of vermicelli that's what i do although i prefer vermicelli since it's thinner but the angel hair will do as well ☺

    Is this traditional? We have something in the USA called Rice-A-Roni which is very much the same thing.

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it's almost a staple in each meal.
      Egyptian meals usually consist of either this rice or balady bread and some sort of vegetable stew with or without meat. 😊

    I made it today and it clumped together and was v sticky. What could be the reason? (I washed it very well)

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you sure you used the right ratio water: rice? That's the only thing aside from washing the rice that could make it clump up

    do you soak the rice before adding it to the pot

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If u r using calrose, basmati, jasmine Egyptian or sushi rice then no.
      But some types may need to be soaked 20 minutes before in luke warm water.

    • @unknownperson3280

      @@MiriamzKitchen ok thank you
      so you mean to say i can also use any other rice as well beside egyption rice and get the same result

    • @MiriamzKitchen
      @MiriamzKitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best are the Egyptian, calrose and sushi rice u will get the same results
      Anything else will have a slightly different taste depending on the taste of the rice
      Like jasmine ans basmati has a strong taste
