My wife and I first met when we 16 years of age and spent the next 36 years together...The first 10 or 15 years a lot of people expected us to "crash and burn" because we met at such a young age, but we proved everybody wrong and always had a blast together and this song became our little theme song later on in life. Unfortunately, my wife passed away in 2013 at the age of 52 from cancer. But every time I hear this song it makes me smile because it brings back the memories of all the good times I shared with my beautiful best friend.

Even my wife’s priest told us that unless we had to get married, come back after we finished school. Fortunately, we got our way. This past spring we celebrated 45 years of marriage. We were from, and lived in, different worlds. That was 1992 and everyone in the development took bets on how long we'd last. 31 years so far. Just got back from a day with our grown kids and their kids celebrating her 60th birthday. Through the years I've told her my goal is to grow old with her. Looks like we made it, and, she's still the one.
I am happy that you made it. My Wife and I met in Oct. 1992 and were married July 3rd 1993. All that time not one major fight. We were blessed and happy until Dec. 2011, when we found out she had cancer. She fought one hell of a fight every time it came back. I retired early to be her caretaker. She went through chemo, having her spleen taken out, through being in septic shock, and finally the lymphoma came back, and she got infections through her PICC line. She had yeast, bacterial, and fungal infections. She was in the hospital ICU for 18 days, and my bride went to her heaven, 19 days short of her 70th birthday. I wrote all that to say this. Please, live for today. You always think you have more time, but it could be tomorrow that the Reaper will be at your door. Do the things you dream of. Go to places you have always wanted to see. This song is dedicated to my mum and dad. My mum died from C19 in April. My mum met dad when she was 14 and he 18. She was only 75 when she died. They had been together through times good and not so good for 61 years. I love and admire them both and I know they will be together again one day.💖

This is my parents wedding song, and I recently had an operation. In the operating theatre before being put under general anaesthetic, this song played on the radio they had in the room. The tears that came streaming down my face were insane. All the staff comforted me in that moment. And even though I was terrified of having the operation, I couldn’t help but feel like this song playing meant it was all going to be ok.

My husband and I were going to play this on our 50th anniversary in 2024. Unfortunately, he succumbed to dreadful Covid-19 on August 19th 2021. We were 21 and 22 when we got married! We were going strong till then! Miss u lots George!

For the world to know, our military friends told my girlfriend that our relationship would not work because of nationality (Hispanic to white), religion (Catholic to Missionary Baptist), to home state (California to Missouri), They said, "I bet they'll never make it". Around the same time, my husband started battling debilitating arthritis and fibromyalgia, yet he still got down on the floor to help me up after a seizure. After three brain surgeries later as we failing body our love and faithfulness to each other stands strong. Actually we're better. That's how you know you married your soul mate.

+Chief Nerd Wow , I love to see that I am not the only one. I am 45yo and my husband is 48yo. I met my husband while working at The Coast Guard Base in what use to be Governor's Island,NYC, in 1991. For some reason my mom never took a liking to him. I could never understand why. But together we still are, almost 25yrs later in June. I moved to California, and maybe that is why it lasted.
I just cannot understand why family would do that to a loved one. You must give people a chance. Whether you like someone or not, initially. It is not about you, it is about the two people that are together, and if it works for them so be it. Don't ever interfere.
