Leslie, I tell everyone “this is what I signed up” for when we got married 45 years ago. My guy is a 100% pt/IU veteran and I am his full time caregiver. Any caregiver knows, it’s not easy, but for me I wouldn’t expect anyone else to be here for him. I wish the best for you both.
Jason is so intelligent and articulate. And brutally honest. Even with this dementia at this stage. Leslie you also are obviously articulate, intelligent, and honest in your discussions. I’m so glad you both have Jesus. ❤
Hi Leslie and Jason! So happy to hear you have another bucket list trip planned. If you're going on a cruise from Budapest to Prague, you'll be stopping in the beautiful city of Regensburg, where we live. Since the cruise's City tours are probably quite strenuous for Jason I would love to give you two a personal tour there. My husband and I have had so many guests since we've lived here, we're pretty good at it now. And if Jason is having a slow day we can sit in one of the famous cafes or breweries and tell you about the city there. I have gotten so much help from you two (since finding out a good friend of mine has early onset Alzheimer's) and would so love to return the favor. Let me know how to contact you, if you're interested. Oops! Just realized this was a reloaded video from your trip last year. Oh, well... I thought maybe you were doing another cruise.
My experience with caregiver for my mother in law was so difficult. I had to start taking medication for anxiety so I could cope with the challenge. Don't be afraid to look after your own mental health, we are no good to anyone if we are not healthy. Put your worries at the feet of Jesus each night and just do what is needed moment by moment. God bless you both 🙏
One of the saddest things was when my husband lost his,I don’t even know what to call it,his beautiful smile and his eyes became just an empty lost look.😟😟
I think my mom had LBD way longer than we realized. She was good at "faking" everything was fine and would say things like she is just tired, or make a joke out of being confused.
Jason we love you and love to see you on camera thank you. Leslie we love you too you are a wonderful couple and we love to see you on camera together. Your videos are helping so many people Jason thank you for your input as how you feel. Leslie thank you for taking us on this journey with you. Sending you both love and prayers ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
My hubby's brow is always furrowed, like he's in pain( he's not)constant look of confusion. Sadly he's on hospice because of serious morbidity. Pls. Keep doing what ur doing.Youve helped me alot,& my hubby lives jason😊
He gives you credit no matter what... And you have so much love towards him...reminding him that you are committed...that you in fact did sign up for this when you got married... I admire you both by your love, conviction, compassion & commitment.. God bless you both...strength, wisdom, hope & love 💝 Praying...always praying for you, Leslie & your family...
Jason courage love and genourous amounts of cuddles .......plus a massive dollop of Leslie will make your pathway a little clearer to negotiate....to .both of you THANKYOU love from Bunbury western Australia x x
I love watching your videos. I know this late but I hope you two had a wonderful anniversary. Just wanted you to know how touching it is to see how dedicated you to are to eachother and how much you love eachother. I know the sadness and frustration must be heartbreaking for you both sometimes but I see so much love between you too and it's a wonderful, beautiful thing to see. You got me crying my eyes out at work. 🤦♀️😂❤❤
Oh wow, yep I see the face changes with my husband. Since his three TIAs, he sleeps with his mouth wide open, he never did this before. I think where I noticed it the most is in the eyes. Awesome about the trip. Looking forward to see your videos on it. I will sign up to your other video channel and watch them as well thank you ❤
Happy Anniversary, and yes, “this is what I signed up for” is my motto also. I hope you have a great trip and take lots of pictures so that you have memories to look at later!!
Love you guys! So appreciate your openness and how your relationship is so sweet! Bless you on your journey! There is slot of walking on that tour, but you can rest on the ship.
My husband also has lewy body! Our Anniversary is also May 4, My husband also sleeps alot latley, not sure he has grumpy face, but he dose tend to daze off, seems to experience sun downers, deep stear, as I guess Jason expresses as fuzzing out! ❤ Florida
Happy Anniversary!!! So happy for you!! And thank you to both of you for sharing your lives and experiences with us ♥️ treasure this time together. My Aunt finally diagnosed in 2022 not Alzheimer’s but LEWY Body Dementia and that was the first time I’d ever heard of it and I’ve been in the medical field for over 20 years and this disease is just a monster. My Aunt my role model growing up so awesome independent strong funny sassy. Now end stage 7 bed bound can’t hold conversations I get anywhere from 20 minutes to 60 seconds visits with her. And on RARE lucid moments she tells me how terrified she is and to pray for her. I pray for you as well cherish this precious time as this disease is so unpredictable you don’t know when the next major downgrade will hit. I’m so thankful to both of you for sharing your lives with us. One day all of these videos in this series will be treasured by you and your family ♥️♥️♥️
I can't help but think "they" are killing us. Watching the previous video and seeing his mother's vitality at her age. I've watched other people's videos, also young, dealing with these type of ailments. My husband is 55 and deals with chronic pain, is also a disabled vet. My own body, at 53, doesn't work half as good as my own mother's did when she was my age. I do own some is my own lifestyle choices, but I refuse to believe its 100% me. Maybe I'm just in denial. Anyway, you both are doing awesome under the circumstances. Keep trusting Jesus.
My spouse makes grumpy face while sleeping also. I just live with it because he can’t help it. The weird thing is he looks just like his late father who was always grumpy. He also has low insight and apathy about motivation. He does love to draw so he sits at his drafting table every day. He reads books on architecture. His parallel bar wore out recently on his drafting table and our son in law came by to help him fix it. It surprised me that he remembered how to fix it and was instructing our son in law along the process. It’s a strange disease for sure.
The hardest thing for me about dementia is that I lost my best friend in the process. My husband is not the same person and I don't know how to handle it. I feel so alone.
I’m so sorry! I can say with all honesty, I know how you feel. Jason has always been my best friend since we were 15 years old. I now feel like I have another child to take care of. No one ever talks about how lonely this disease is for the spouses 🩷 sending you hugs.
Leslie I can't believe this man served his country. Then when he needed care, and medical attention he was brushed off. If he would have been treated for a brain injury he would be ok today probably.
I was wondering if you share what medications Jason is taking. Thank you for these informative videos. I think you are doing a wonderful job as a caregiver and partner. ❤
Jason, I have had mold toxicity which causes symptoms like dementia, chronic fatigue, etc... Many people are undiagnosed. If you have been near mold please look into Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Neil Nathan who have written about Mold and toxicity.
@dsalnorcal1434 is a channel I watch. "Dad" is simply adorable. Son is chronicling his dad with dementia. He is a 91 y.o. retired MD. It's heartwarming the way his family surrounds him with love.
Yes, the facial expressions are so different, clenching of the jaws for instance. This week has been a real downhill trial for him. What do I do with the trash, where is the toaster?? No interest in the news, watches the SAME shows over and over again.
I do not for the life of me get why people think you are mean to Jason. That's just cruel. If it gets out of control you need to get someone to read the comments for you and delete mean ones. People are so brazen and discompassionate
Hello. Just discovered you guys. My husband is 56 and DATscan suggest Lewy Body but I’ll ask for the skin biopsy that Jason had. We go to Dr Pleen at KU. Have you guys tried the infusions called Lequimbe? I’m going to ask the doc about it. He just recently prescribed him Donezepril. No side effects yet. It’s been a month. I guess I see some improvement. Thank you and Jason for providing us this service.

You have an amazing wife.Consider your self blessed.

Thank you for sharing. My best friend has early onset dementia. Watching the two of you has helped me laugh while crying if that makes sense.

Your doing a great job Leslie and Jason. It can be a very lonely journey when your slowly losing your best mate to this terrible disease ❤️

I’m sure you’re doing a great service for research. My MIL has this too, but, how unfair for a couple not yet in their third act.
My hubby's brow is always furrowed, like he's in pain( he's not)constant look of confusion. Sadly he's on hospice because of serious morbidity. Pls. Keep doing what ur doing.Youve helped me alot,& my hubby lives jason😊

You're grieving in this process and that can be frustrating.
You are such an encouraging couple.
So sad to see his personality dim before our eyes. Prayers with you all.

I can do relate to the look of my husbands grump face which is so new to us
It must be heartbreaking to realize you’re treating someone you love poorly at times and you have no control. The love between you is palpable…❤❤
Thank you for the update. You’re so inspiring ❤️
Happy Anniversary and many more💕
Happy Anniversary!

My husband too. He's not the same person but I am in it for the long haul.
You’re not alone. I feel like I’m living with a stranger sometimes.
We just returned from a Viking cruise up the Rhine. You will love it!

He should take Nurtec
Thank you, I haven't heard of this medication. Useful info for others maybe.
