    I don't think the injuries that Chelsea have can be an excuse anymore. Chelsea's problem has always been goalscoring, not the defence, and most of the injured players are defence minded players. Even if Nkunku came back, his style of play is more like Werner's and we know how that unfolded...

    • @man4437
      @man4437 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have a good point about Nkunku. I somewhat defer to others on this one, because from what I hear he's an absolutely marvelous footballer (and the stats speak for themselves), but even ignoring his style and whether it fits with the rest of the squad, Poch's style, etc. he has basically everything going against him right now.
      New country, new team, club's in a bit of a mess, badly injured before even getting there. I don't doubt he's a great footballer, but this is the kind of stuff where you're really pulling a wagon uphill.

    18:14........but Salah had always had the highest assists among Liverpool players under Klopp......not just among the Bobby-Mane-Mo era.......
    When Matip or Fab...or the more recent one....Robbo want to score a goal......they turn to Mo to hold the ball who then put across a beautiful pass back to his team mates........who would get into goalscoring positions.....
    His goalscorings just took precedence to his assist records..........
    FFS....he won EPL Playmaker back in 2021/2022 ....same season that he shared Golden Boot with Son.....and that was after his poor performance in hte 2nd half of the season after he lost AFCON to Senegal and their Green pointer...
    and in 2022/2023 season....he dropped to 4th place for topscorer and 2nd place behind KDB treble winning season for EPL assist.......

    Serious clubs never use "we're in transition" as an excuse. If you are a serious and organizationally mature club you are always transitioning, look at for example City, Brighton, RM etc always moving people on and bringing new ones in. The game of football is a perpetual game not one with end. It doesn't end when the match ends or the season, if you want to be a top club game never ends

    • @cwadlow
      @cwadlow ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think this is a pretty unfair assessment tbh. City have been settled for so long because they have the greatest manager of this generation running the ship… and honestly haven’t lost a ton of key players over that period without already having the backup or replacement ready to go. Brighton is difficult to say they are always ready because they’ve really only been performing at this level for the past 2 seasons and there’s no way to say they’ll continue to do so in the next 5 years. RM I think is fair enough but that seems to be more of the exception to the rule rather than the rule itself. You can be a top club and still have a transition year… Spurs have been doing it since Poch left until now and still finished decent in the league, Arsenal we’re doing it for 2.5 years under Arteta, Chelsea got a new owner and have bought an entirely new squad, and Man United have been under Ten Hag for 12 months with loads of new players coming in. You could even argue Barcelona, one of the most serious clubs in the world, have been in transition the last few years with Messi leaving and the FFP issues

    • @Alex727Pasco
      @Alex727Pasco ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cwadlow I don't think you got my point because a couple of your points I think point to what I was saying. Serious clubs are one that plan ahead and ensure contunuity, they dont unsettle the squad with too many incomings or outgoings. Secondly, if you are organizationally mature you have the right people at the top that don't make rush decisions and panic, because whatever happens whether things go your way or not you planned for both scenarios and and you push on. City BTW lost key players it's just that you plan for these things. You know why, because these things happen all the time in football, if you don't it's like not wearing a seat belt or taking an umbrella when you go out in autumn ... Your gonna get wet😉

    The problem with the Chelsea discourse is that yes based on the squad they have and the circumstances they're currently in 6th or 7th would be a fine finish for them BUT they shouldn't be in this position in the first place. Todd Bohely has invested heavily in this team and 99% of his purchases have been young players who lack major experience not just in the premier league but just in the top flight in general. They lack a lot of cohesion, there is no experience or leaders, we can talk about them being unlucky not to score more but if you don't have any good finishers (which they haven't had in awhile now) then those chances aren't gonna go in. Easy to say the goals will come if you actually have a competent attacker who is a proven goalscorer which someone like Jackson just isn't. Of course they have been unlucky with injuries as well but at the same time they've also invested in injury prone players (Fofana and Madueke are probably the biggest examples here). Because of the investment and how poor their decision making has been Chelsea are in a position where they are looking like they could potentially be a mid table club AGAIN and that is simply not something their fanbase will be ok with.

    The moron-fueled narrative around Rashford after this game is unbelievably short-sighted. He was excellent in the first half and on another day would have both scored and assisted. United "fans" having a go at him should take a look at their other forward options in the squad and tell us who else can terrorise and stretch defenses like he does, who else can have 20 goal seasons or score brilliant goals like the last two he scored at the Emirates for example: the inexperienced if promising Garnacho and Hojlund? Anthony "waste-of-space" Martial? Antony? Sancho? The current iteration of United plays without a recognizable style, has no mental resilience in the face of adversity and is starkly lacking in defensive nous. Is Rashford responsible for any of the fundamental problems at United? No

    Brighton are playing ultra modern football and United are miles away from it, they don't have the players, the system or the culture of the club. Reminds me a bit of Real vs Man City last year, Real managed to beat teams in the UCL based mainly on talent up until they met a team that were playing super drilled, systematised football and then suddenly they looked years out of date. United are also years behind, and with worse players including RM castoffs like Casemiro and Varane.

    All the top coaches that play a diamond all play an elite ball progressive passer as the base of of the diamond that's where Eriksen should've played with players either side of him who's going to win the ball back. Ten Hag has showing he can't set up a system tactically successfully

    rashford had 12 shots (4 on target) holjund had 0 just shows how poor rashfords football IQ is. Needs to use his overlapping fullback and runners around him more which will improve the fluidity of our attack. Ball just goes to rashford and then it ends there.

    Sam's point about potter is so wrong it's actually funny, potter didn't have a summer yet started really well, his September and October was pretty strong meanwhile poch has started awfully with an easy run, I don't want poch sacked yet but his not done anything better then potter so far

    i think ten hag is making some obviously wrong decisions for the club. to prioritize the signing of mount was crazy for me. did he really think that that squad needed an out of form number 10 who is free in 52 weeks time? why did they pay 60 mil for him? if they wanted him so badly then why didnt they go in on deadline day and offer 10 mil. as they could get him for free in a matter of weeks. it's crazy and stupid transfer dealings. anthony. again wrong transfer. he is obviously not the right kind of player. ten hag only seems to go for players he has managed before in the inferior dutch league. and top that with his negative tactics and terrible substitutions. i'm already beginning to see that he isn't the guy to change things around. he isn't a good enough manager tactically.

    Sorry but having watched united now for about 14 months under ETH i really dont see what difference he has made to the product on the pitch...they dont dominate games even against lesser teams, they are still playing counter attacking football and the midfield still looks slow and passive

    Onana is genuinely one of the worst signings I’ve seen. I called this before he signed and he’s proving me right weekly. Never seen a keeper perform so bad most weeks and for some reason people rate him. He’s been this level of fraud since Ajax.
