Thanks, you are a very good instructor and your music is not loud and overbearing. I haven't done step in a few years you remind me of my old step instructor.
Henriette Dyer Step is still taught at 24 Hour Fitness Huntington Beach CA and it has gotten way more challenging (choreograpy/combos) compared to my high school and college days 1994-2002
Great video. If you do step every day I could see this being boring, but if you use Step as part of your cardio day then this is great- moves aren’t complicated but get your heart going. Great for those of us who get frustrated by over complicated step movements! Instructor is fantastic at explaining moves and created move connections that flow well.
I first did step in the mid-1990s and it was a lot of fun. Then in 2002, I took step at our community college along with my daughter who was also in college then. It was so much fun! Triangle step (using 2 steps) Quad step (using 4 steps) and Circle step (multiple steps in a big circle and we'd move from 'our' step to the adjacent step and on along the circle). Then I didn't go for several years and then got into a class at a gym. It was awful! There were so many abrupt turns and spins and complicated moves. I spent the next 2 days in bed with vertigo and never went back! I want to get back into doing step again and this video looks perfect and just like how I remember step in its glory days.
Just discovered you. I know I'll like it!! A recommendation....you sometimes say left when you mean right and sometimes you say left when you mean left. A bit confusing.
Dana is one of the first I've seen who is conscientious enough to include the brief break and water in the routine. She is excellent at delivering sequential steps in a way that I was able to keep up! This is a definite fat burning session...she maintains awareness of breath, heartbeat, sequencing, arm positions in a clear concise manner....excellent! The only thing I would recommend is that she change the name "Shooter" for something else. I think I am a bit sensitive to hearing it with the recent school shootings. I was surprised to find myself wincing when she said it, it seemed out of place to all of a sudden hear "now the shooter". But I made it through and the workout definitely made me sweat more than when I am running.
love it, just finished all sweaty in winter here in Wollongong second time around I am moving with you. Tried the 2 risers and you are so much more energetic than me wow! I think there is more than one of you at the time :). would love more videos like ths
I haven't done step aerobics since college. Coming back now and love other videos, but I found this one tough to follow while watching on my phone. The sequences seemed forced and didn't flow. I also have a small space so I couldn't do the "walk away" sequence well.
my friend dana is an aerobics step instructor and i accidentally found your video --im 54 almost and way out of breath at 6 minutes ..do u have any beginner classes for us ex aerobic fanatics that want to get back into shape?thx dana btw you're very good at cue -ing and explaining,m,i taught yrs ago but now writing this comment and stretching /watching and have to go back to basic,,,,lol..thx again ..no limitations just outta shape and have my own step routine ,so do u also have any just music and instruction with beginner to intermediate level...
Had to smile at your "shooter." In the 90's we called it Split Basic (or Basic Split)... believe it is Reebok step aerobics terminology. I still call it Split Basic... but shooter is cute. :)
This one kept my heart rate up okay but was pretty repetitive (way too many step knees). More of a beginner workout. Not saying it's bad, just kind of boring for an intermediate exerciser.

Back after 20 years. I love step! Why don't they teach this at the gyms anymore? Keeps me fit and toned. Great music.

Thank you, Dana! This is great! This is fun! This is efficient. Can cope with the pandemia as long as you are here.
Just getting back into step and loved this workout! Feels so good to be doing this again.
Thank you for these videos. Getting back into step after a few years, so I'm really enjoying these. Great way to keep fit!
Good basic sweaty step workout. Step is the best!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a not real expensive good stepper and a suggestion of what size I should get?

Choreography hard to follow for a “beginner” video.
